Change the name and Juvenal's words would be indistinguishable from the complaints of an observer of contemporary social developments. Perhaps this is why you chose him as one of the three subjects offered today.

Rocky - Hope you will have found Mencken's essay full of food for thought. Like Juvenal, HLM writing in 1918-1920 describes a world that is remarkably similar to what is happening today. The cast members and names change but the play is essentially the same, proof that human nature always remains the same.
