Good and motivational advice. DS is an ocean. The main issue I had when trying to learn DS is that not knowing my next step. I tend to learn everything and felt lost (I still have this feeling to some extent, not sure where to move in terms of the industry)
I think data scientist are of two main types: Generalist and Domain-specific data scientist. Most generalists appear to work in finance/sales or internet/tech companies. These guys are likely to have more statistics/econometric/engineering background. Of course, you can find specialist among these generalists as well (or become a specialist over years of experience or with advanced degree).
Then the domain-specific data scientists are PhD-scientist who typically work in biotech/chemistry industry.
Most data scientists are in finance/sales/internet companies and getting a position in these companies is relatively easier than getting a position in biotech/chemistry companies that typically demand expertise conducting scientific research (this are actually scientist jobs, scientists who know domain-specific ML models and cloud computing)

I finally sat down to listen to this video and focus 🌻 The "having fun" part is really important .. I honestly find your tutorials quite informative and fun to watch .. I will be starting Ken's challenge on January and will definitely refer constantly to your channel especially for production tutorials. Thank you guys for making DS fun and interesting for us ! Excited for 2022 ❤

Hi Professor, wish you a great day and great health ❤️. Thank you so much for your informative videos 🙌🏻. I am completing my MS degree in Data Science in the next month and am a bit confused regarding what opportunity to take up in the future. Like whether to pursue PhD or go for a job. Would love to listen to your views on the same and also some advice on how to apply to PhD or job after getting a MS degree in Data Science.

Would you be able to make also a videos on how to stay motivated doing research too? I seem to have a problem of always want to rush the research into completion when I feel stress especially when I'm stuck with something.

Hi Data Professor can I ask what your background was? I’ve graduated in Biochemistry and fell in love with programming and the power of data analysis. I’m considering pursuing a Masters degree in Bioinformatics but wanted to learn if this field opens up the world of Data Science or does it restrict you solely to biological data
