The first movie with Stan Lee released just after his death features him handing down the Spider-Man costume to a new kid & telling him he'll grow into it. You couldn't have PLANNED that symbolism better. RIP Stan the Man...
I remember seeing this in the theater shortly after Stan passed and I got a little choked up.

I think Into The Spiderverse is incredibly creative, beautifully animated, and has a lot of heart poured into it. And every song hits hard.

Look up a video called "The Sound of the Spider-Verse" and it does a great job talking about the motifs of the score. Such a great video!
This just knocked it out of the park on so many levels.
The art style is 10/10, bringing a whole distinct animated style and really delivering. Top that with an incredible soundtrack, fantastic writing, great performances, great action and pacing, and it gives us more than I could have ever asked for.

my favourite trivial about this movie is how the animation changes over the course of the film. the framerate increases and his animation gets smoother as he grows as a character.
I’m 41. I went to see this with my son when it came out. This is our favorite of all the Spider-Man movies. Unfortunately I can’t watch it without my eyes watering 10 times. Can’t wait for the new one.

I think the kind of heartwarming thing about Peter and Miles relationship is that Miles kind of showed Peter that hey..maybe having kids wouldn't be so bad after all.
Now from a certain point of view this kinda is part of the MCU. This movie was the first to really explain a multi-verse. In this Spider-verse somewhere lives the Toby Maguire Spidey, the Andrew Garfield and even the Tom Holland Spidermen. There was a rumor that Sony was deep into talks with Toby to do the voice of the first Spiderman we meet.
This movie is a total Masterpiece. Art style, story, plot, soundtrack, direction, cast... All flawless. It's a kinda movie you rewatch over and over and it remains dope. Great choice, Leo.
This was the most well made, well written and animated movies I’ve ever seen. And for it to be a Spider-Man film. Even better. There are a million ways this could have tanked but it delivered. Animation was beautiful, the music fits perfectly, the characterization of Miles was just 👌🏻 and the original characters/ variants of Spider-Man were so enjoyable and fun. This was a movie made with absolute care and love for everyone. Spider-Man fans fell in love, it’s a great film to watch with your kids, and the messages behind it aren’t just classic Spider-Man mantras but very relatable to real life. Miles is also an extremely relatable character, and pretty much every guy who remembers his teenage phases can connect with him ( also an amazing example of representation done right). This kids feels ripped straight from the comics and not just because of the art style. Everything about this movie was perfect in every way.
I am so excited for its sequel Across the Spider-verse where we will get even more interesting Spider-Man characters and the return of most of the ones we know from this one. I hope to see a reaction when it goes digital OR you do a review style vid for us, which would be cool.
Edit: To answer your question. I’m still on the fence about it. Let’s just say that I’d like to believe it’s real. I’ve had scattered experiences that all kind of point to it as something that could exist, but I won’t sit here and say that I believe it for sure. I’d have to experience something so bizarre that there are absolutely no explainations other than there being an entirely different reality. I’ve heard many stories from others that believe they have had experiences that prove the existence of multiple universes but until it happens to me, I’ll stay largely neutral on it.
This was the first Spider Man Animated movie to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
I can't think of a single other feature length animated Spiderman film other than the sequel to this one.

Peter Parker losing his Uncle Ben in any incarnation is tragic, but seeing Miles lose his uncle was especially devastating. Why is losing a family member so pivotal and necessary for a superhero's development?
Maybe it has something to do with going through the darkest moments is the only thing that gets rid of the fear of acting (instead of scaping) when scary stuff approaches. It makes you know you actually CAN go through a nightmarish situation. Kinda like it's way easier to have a break up after you've had your first love/serious relationship, because the first time you have a broken heart it feels like dying. But then you know, that you'll survive (weather you want to or not) so better do the right thing cause pain will come... and it will go. So let's rip the band aid.
It goes back to the very origin of the superhero comic book genre. They were made for kids. The fantasy of escaping from parents, being on one's own. And avoiding having to answer the question of "How is this person going around in a brightly-colored costume fighting crime and getting into horribly dangerous situations? Where are his parents?" It's not as "heroic" of a story if you have the safety net of parents.

This movie is literally a love letter to the legacy Spiderman has as a character. And the best part is it manages to take the non-Peter variants, which were mostly kinda cheap and unremarkable, and make them great characters in their own right
Miles in particular benefits from this as this is easily the best version of his character to date.
Miles is one of the best written variants in Marvel that isn't just a reskin (literally in some cases) of an existing character. Miles is almost entirely different from Peter, despite being the same person.
The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic. Whole family listened to it on repeat for weeks afterwards. And sometimes we’ll break it out and give the whole album a listen again randomly at times.

The fact that Spider Noir is voiced by the lovely Nicolas Cage makes him my favorite by default. Been a long time fan of yours! Aloha from Hawaii! 🌺 fun fact, Peter B. Parker is "our" Spider-Man because his Coca-Cola is identical to ours. All the others have different versions of it based on their dimensions.
I agree, this is by far one of the best superhero film soundtracks. I've never watched a film that made me go and add songs on Spotify afterward until this one.

When they ask" who taught miles that"? It was blonde Peter Parker when he was fighting green goblin. Miles saw him do that move and incorporated into his own

Great reaction! It was great to see how hyped you were for the soundtrack. I saw this in the theater and every time a new song came on I thought there was no way the soundtrack could get any better, and it consistently did. It's one of my favourite movies of all time, regardless of genre.
Gwen’s “MJ” was actually Peter Parker. In the Comics, after Gwen got bit and became spider woman, Peter Parker got fed up with being bullied by the kids at his school and turned himself into the villain The Lizard. Gwen thought that Lizard had killed Peter and killed him, only knowing who he was after Peter transformed back after dying
So Gwen’s “Trust me, I’ve been there” was because she saw Peter again in this universe and was reminded of her Peter, just like Peter was reminded of MJ

My favorite Marvel Movie, it captures everything I love about this character and his mythos. The spider-verse is endless, theres countless versions and interpretations of the character and thanks to this Miles is one of my favorites now. The music and fluid animation is mesmerizing and I love the cast so much. Can't thank you enough for watching this one, Leo!
Movies don't make me feel all that much these days, but this one made me feel everything. As a kid my brother had a drawer full of comics, including about 20 issues of Spider-Ham. Seeing him in this was a special kind of nostalgia for me. I love this film.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Went in with low expectations when I went to watch it and left the theatre OBSESSED. The soundtrack won me especially when Biggy started playing. But then the story and animation ended up being soooo good! Loved Miles and Peter’s relationship. 11/10 film and so hyped for the 2nd movie!

Here's an animated superhero movie for you Batman Under The Red Hood(2007). It's based on a really good storyline from the comics. You'll enjoy it. It's a great mystery for those who haven't read the comic book this movie is based on.

I absolutely LOVE this movie. This soundtrack all over my spotify playlists. It is great music, period. Took my nephew to see this in the theater, and got him a canvas size of the no expectations graffiti his next birthday. A top tier pick. Maybe you should pick more often. If you've never seen Love & Basketball that's a good movie too. Representation is so much more meaningful when its foundation is built on a good story.

If you haven’t notice yet, the animation on Miles gets more and more smoother as he progresses into becoming Spider Man. So many subtle touches and lots of new things to notice upon multiple viewings. Great choice in reaction Leo!
Also Nicolas Cage is the voice of Spider Noir. Not many reactors are doing Nicolas Cage films. If you’re down I’d recommend Nicolas Cage in Face/Off (1997), National Treasure (2004), Gone in 60 Seconds (1999) and The Rock (1996). Fun adventure films!
I love Nic Cage so much. I thought The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent was both incredibly batshit and brilliant.
