Thank you for this. I did not know there was a 2nd version, and was wondering where the solo was.

Just found the video today & I was shocked. I love it. Did Michael ever say why they weren't asked to actually play in the video? Yes, I also like the lyric video too with guitar solo. I really, really like the lyrics. Hope a lot of the younger kids will take a second look at Stryper because of this song. Oh, yes when I heard the first cord of the guitar solo, I was like "oh, there's no doubt who that is". Yes, I love this song too! Oh my goodness, I had to come back because I also felt those chills. Thought maybe I was the only one but yeah, I admit it!

Hey brother ! I enjoyed this review very much and love your enthusiasm as well 😀😎🎸
I remember getting the DC Talk tapes and Stryper both were my faves too at the time 👍 Then I got into writing & recording my own Christian rap/rock ✝️ 🪨 and this was in the late 80's and early 90's.
Most of it is just demo stuff ..... I had grander ideas for the direction I wanted things to go, yet life didn't work that way and didn't get to finish a lot of projects 🎛 and get everything produced & mixed properly. I was also short on instrumentation accompaniment, so alot of it doesn't sound as full and complete yet I was still pretty impressed with what I was able to accomplish at the time.
My best song is one i did called "Fight, Fight" inspired by 1 Timothy 6:12. You can find it in my playlist here titled: My songs and photos of me. If you allow links here i can also send it to you in a comment 🙂 I made different video versions of it cause the first ones I did like 16 years ago were pretty cheesy lol.... So I just had fun the last couple years experimenting with different video ideas 😁
I wish I had more connections as I'd love for someone to redo it and make a more modern, better, complete version of it 💯 But anyways it's definitely got that rap/rock thing going on as I love that blend a lot too 👊 There's one video where I put the lyrics in the description in case you want to read the words for this song I wrote in 1991 ✍
    God bless!!!

I was there in the beginning with Stryper and the rise of Christian metal. I bought the music from lots of the bands, subscribed to Heaven’s Metal for two decades starting in the 80s and still carry the flag for Christian music. But if this is what passes for Christian music and Heaven’s Metal today, I gotta say in all honesty…this is a weak song by weak “musicians”. Put the original song on and hear the authenticity. And this guy trying to rap sounds like all other rappers. That goes for the guy singing the “rise” parts. But I guess that’s what happens…being in this world, it starts to rub off on you. The same was said about Stryper in the 80s. But they had originality on their side by paving the way for Christians in an industry that hated them. And that was by playing their own music without sampling from others. Lecrae? He should get ahold of The Original Gospel Gangstas and T-bone for rap done right, and take note. But stay true to God. I’ve seen Lecrae blur the lines with secular artists and water down his faith. It’s a spiritual warfare, you can’t afford to be flimsy. God bless and Rock on!

Sorry, you are wrong…this is not a phenomenal rendition. It’s horrible.
