My first FOSDEM 2024 🥇

Had a great time fosdem.org/2024/ meeting old and new friends! An amazing conference of geeks without the need for registration or tickets. Astonishing.
I wish I knew I needed to enable the ipv6 on my Arch Thinkpad to get Internet working. 🤦

Good to have seen you there, Kai. It was not as crowded and congested as it was when I was last there in 2020. Overall, great. IPv6 worked transparently on my F39 laptop as well as on my Pixel7a.

Nice to see a Framework 13 in the wild! I just received my Framework last week and it's been a joy with NixOS. I'm not surprised how packed the NixOS room was.

When it comes to IPv6, I think the solution would be is for Linux to support something called: "IPv6 Mostly". aka the network can announce "you can use IPv6-only if you support it properly" (which means you probably want CLAT) then you can automatically turn off IPv4.
