Man - I'd love to have the original source for these films. I've done some pretty impressive restoration work on dozens of hours of 8mm and super 8mm family films. I'd also love to have the crash test data, showing the loads the passengers received and how survivable these crashes would have been. Given the intrusion into the passenger compartment, I would guess that many were not.

The likely cracked radiators would beg to differ. My mom had a ‘78 Impala.
