This guy gets it cars should be driven not on some car garage sitting there while the owner chats on how he owns one and not driving it. I salute this guy
Being 19 I'd rather see these cars being driven instead of in a museum with a plaque that says what it is. I'd rather see and hear it drive by and have a smile put on my face
Yes I'm 19. I'd rather see these being driven around or maybe even get to drive one myself instead of going to a museum and reading a plaque about the car
Oh, being 16 I'd rather see these being driven around or maybe even get to drive one myself instead of going to a museum and reading a plaque about the car.
At first I thought you where an older person who didn't like young people. I think it's important too that young people like us are interested and in classic cars like this because we'll be more likely to want to own a classic car someday. I had the chance to buy a BMW 3.0CS that needed a little work, mostly some tuning with the triple carbs, some repairs to the leather seats and some rust on the body. I like modern cars too because their so fast, but it's still really cool having a classic car, they have more character than new cars
Bryan Doherty You had the chance to own an E9?! your mental for turning it down , i mean it may be a bit difficult to get it finished with ur budget being so young , im a 20 year old e24 owner ( 633CSi) and i absolutely love the car!
IMO, this is what Petrolicious does best. Fantastic vintage exotica with insightful, knowledgeable comments from the owner. Very enjoyable. Thanks for posting.
I used to own a 1959 Fiat Zagato Abarth. It was the most fun car I have ever driven. It was purchased by my father and grandfather from their local physician when he could no longer get in it. It was then given to me. I ended up selling it to a guy in San Francisco when I couldn’t find parts for it. This brings back some great memories from my youth!
First time I saw this car was 1970 in Hollywood and wanted one immediately. I didn't know what it was then, but wanted one and was told later it was an Abarth Zagato. The Fiat part came later. I remember how cool I thought the roof looked. The car combines some lines from Porsche, Alfa and Ferrari. Beautiful Italian classic.
Great video. Great car. Quirky little cars like this just laugh at the rule books on what a car should be. They make me feel good. I can never get tired of looking at cars like these. Rob
if i lived in the same area as him i would love to hear it start up in fact i would pay him to use the engine as my alarm clock to get me up in the morning
Beautifull engine sound it's one of those cars to loose yourself in the open road all Day... Love the interiors design and materials besides the body is so advanced for the time it was built...
I would sign just everything said here by the owner of this unbelievably wonderful Abarth, but would not on his opinion on 'boxy' eighties design. That 'boxy' design he's picking on has a lot of history with Bauhaus, and brought us countless classics, most of them designed by legendary italian designers. To name a few: Audi Ur-Quattro, Lancia Delta, BMW E30, Mercedes Benz 190E, Fiat Panda, VW Golf, etc., etc., etc. There is simply not a more perfect car design than the E30, it is flawless, and everybody in business agrees here. And all this leaving a classic such as this 750 GT untouched by the fact.
And the best bit is that, as mentioned, this car is based of the platform and engine of the fiat 600, as was the fiat 850 which replaced the 600. Both the 600 and 850 are affordable and could have their engines modified to be as good if not better than the one in this 750 GT, and as the platforms are similar, light modification to the 600 or 850 could yield similar handling aswell. Off course they wouldn't look the same, but they'd be very close in terms of driving and sound, the 850 coupe is great to look at anyway, and they'd be a fraction of the cost.
I had the ability to sit in a "Double bubble." The owner let me fiddle with the seats, feel my way around the interior and to be honest I've liked fiats more ever since.
I feel the same way about my 1975 Fiat X1/9. Abarth OT130 engine detuned for Fiat by Lampredi. Coachwork by Gandini while at Bertone. A little Lambo of sorts.
You guys might want to check your view finders or LCD displays a couple of your shots are just barely out of focus. Anyways love this little loud Fiat!
Beautiful Car. Petrolicious doin a Great Job making these Videos . Why put end exhaust at driver side.....Kinda bad Weight... Especially in a Car like this,so light,id also spread the exhaust.
Nice looking car, but it has horrible fiat pushrod engine. Not sure can it even be called an engine. I had fiat 127 with the 900cc version and that is just horrible.
Now I know what I've been doing wrong: I start my Abarth in my garage. Yeah, neighbours don't approve, but who cares? I drive away in my Abarth - and as the Italian's say: "What is'eh behind me, is'eh not important."
Aram Z I'll second a top five. I get the impression he only ever drives it with his little racing shoes and vintage racing coveralls on, that's what really put him up there for me.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, one mans trash is another's gold. If that's what he likes doing, and how he likes to do it then who are we to question that. I would never personally want to own his car as much as he would probably not want to own mine, but each to their own. If we weren't different then this community would be boring. Fairplay to the man :D
Actually, maybe not 4x the performance literally, but definitely 4x "HP per kilogram" ratio. If the stock weigh was, for example, 800 kg and it had 100 hp it would have 0.125 hp/kg, and if it is 400 kg with 200 hp it's 0.5 hp/kg which is four times as much...

Beautiful car and exhaust note
Every one of these Petrolicious videos are a treat. Great work guys.
Whoow, never seen one but..... another great Italian vintage car to watch and to hear the sound....
The last few films have had a 'different' feel - this film feels like a return to form.
Cool little car, and nice gesture to roll it away from the house before starting neighbors must appreciate that (early in the AM)
Awesome ! thanks for sharing these stories

At 4:20. Did anyone notice the oil blow by collector can? It looks like a sauce can or something. hahah
I love watching every new Petrolicious video. These car owners are my kind of people and the cars are just brilliant.
truly stunning... keep the videos coming Petrolicious! i look forward to a new video each week an they get better and better
Great video. Great car. Quirky little cars like this just laugh at the rule books on what a car should be. They make me feel good. I can never get tired of looking at cars like these. Rob
That includes the modern Abarth, future classic.
yes. that extraordinary weedeater sound. lovely. haven't heard that in a couple of months.
Your presentation of your automobile is poetic.
Too bad the gentleman who did the work to bring this back from the dead is never mentioned! What a shame....he is a true treasure! MAX
if i lived in the same area as him i would love to hear it start up in fact i would pay him to use the engine as my alarm clock to get me up in the morning
I had a later model 750 GT Record Monza (not the double bubble). It was a sweet machine.
Beautifull engine sound it's one of those cars to loose yourself in the open road all Day... Love the interiors design and materials besides the body is so advanced for the time it was built...
Basel, my Hometown! :-) Nice Video as usual! Keep up the good work and merry Christmas!
when did they talk about basel?
inchskater around the 1:20 mark
Maarten Getkate
thank you, I missed that somehow. I live not far from there, too! :D

beautiful car. awesome sound.
My father used to campaign one of these in the late 50's early 60's.
Spectacular, as always guys.
I have owned many Fiats and have loved these cars for a long time. Carlo Abarth was a genius.
Beautiful little car
One of my favorite episodes! Such a beautiful car and Carl puts the driving experience into words so perfectly!
Nice little car!!...
Thanks for sharing!!.
4:56 What a sublime shot!
An interesting and unusual car.
Oh my word. Stunning.
Nice video. I ran the Millie in 2011 in the same abarth 750
*sees Petrolicious video*
*heavy breathing*
Mille Miglia Marvel is now my favourite alliteration.
Cool little car - and loud!!!
I love this lil car
Thanks for +Petrolicious. Thanks for the Fiat owners. This video all you need after hardworking day!
This car is the definition of the "pocket rocket". Beautiful.
Am I nuts or is 4:35 the first helo~shot I've seen on Petrolicious!?! Drone?
Abarth,my kind of Brand!!!
Pretty much doesn't say anything technical about the car, just stylized camera work. Bring it over to Jay leno's garage...
They do really nice reviews at jlg
I had the ability to sit in a "Double bubble." The owner let me fiddle with the seats, feel my way around the interior and to be honest I've liked fiats more ever since.
may he live out his days driving his beautiful car.
Yeah, because fuck his family,
Yeah, give them a buck then tell them to the STFU.
Im amazed how you almost see more of these rare cars in the USA than in Europe.
Congratulations!
that is such a beautiful car
Forget it! The left rear tail light is burned out. Fill it back up with some headlight fluid and we can talk ;-)
Great looking car....
What’s the little tag hanging off the right side spoke of the Nardi steering wheel? (Don’t comment with assumptions)
Damn that thing is loud!
I feel the same way about my 1975 Fiat X1/9. Abarth OT130 engine detuned for Fiat by Lampredi. Coachwork by Gandini while at Bertone. A little Lambo of sorts.
I had a 75 and 76 X-1/9 plus a 124 Spyder. The X 1/9 handled better than almost every car I've had since.
Way Cool........ Greg Schmidt(author of ABARTH in 1983)
these cars are an enginering marvel, any change not done in the spirit of these cars only destroy them
You guys might want to check your view finders or LCD displays a couple of your shots are just barely out of focus. Anyways love this little loud Fiat!
Am I the only one who thinks that it sounds like a riced civic with a fart can?
I still love this amazing car, don't get me wrong...
I literally wrote that before seeing this comment
It's the sound the Ricers try to mimic.
MyFabian94 ricers dont know about the car, even if they did, I think they're spot on with the sound.
Maybe a little. They want to mimic sporty cars, but somehow ruin them along the way, completely ruining them.
STOP CALLING HONDA CIVICS RICE FOR FUCKS SAKE
Bravo!
LEGEND
More exhaust music please.
I love it!
random question: does anybody know the brand of his watch that shows in the first 10 seconds of the video?
Autodromo, it says right underneath. They sponsor petrolicious
It says it there in the 10 seconds; Autodromo
Is it possible to know which camera/lenses setup are used in the majority of your movies ? Thank you
He is in the right place. I know so many idiots that don't drive their idols like they should be driven.
I call it Idle Worship.
Great
The thumbnail for this vedio almost looked like a painting
I
I like this Fiat-Abarth Zagato a lot, but I prefer the Abarth Simca 1300
The car is so cute XD
Nice. #!!! 😊😊😊
Bless! Such a cutey!
Maybe ten seconds of footage on the engine compartment? I just do not get it. His pretentious burbling did not help. Neat car, though.
Beautiful Car.
Petrolicious doin a Great Job making these Videos .
Why put end exhaust at driver side.....Kinda bad Weight...
Especially in a Car like this,so light,id also spread the exhaust.
That's the best oil catch can ever
Not something that I'd like to crash with. The steering wheel kills you.
Unless it's been revised from the Fiat 600.
It sounds like a little bumblebee :)
Abarth wears out those who don't.
I saw one today! In blue in the a31 in Hampshire. It was broken down though.
Tiny engine race cars make better race car drivers.
Those are the car's l like:small, lightweight,,l intended the car's not to be a broad sitting- roomy.
Sounds like a dive bomber to me but great little car that is
The want is so big
👍❤️
Your Nordschleife is mirrored
He went the other way around
ACA EN ARGENTINA LO CONOCIMOS EN LOS AÑOS 60 COMO CISITALIA CON MOTOR 850 CC
Strange there are so many shitty comments on this video in particular
doesnt it have a starter motor?
No warm up?! Ohh no no start it where it sits!
Why would you not start it in your garage? Screw oversensitive neighbors.
Nice looking car, but it has horrible fiat pushrod engine. Not sure can it even be called an engine. I had fiat 127 with the 900cc version and that is just horrible.
+James Parus + de 100 cv/lts' horrible..........
Fab car. Rolling down the hill? Ok until you need to stop! I'd prefer the noise than an incident!
Now I know what I've been doing wrong: I start my Abarth in my garage.
Yeah, neighbours don't approve, but who cares? I drive away in my Abarth - and as the Italian's say: "What is'eh behind me, is'eh not important."
Oops, looks like he had to get out and do a hand pushed 3 point turn when he rolled out of the garage.
Who agrees that this is the most ANNOYING owner featured on Petrolicious EVER ?
top 5 most annoying, for sure. "the body truly transcends stylistic aspects" no, it does not.
Aram Z I'll second a top five. I get the impression he only ever drives it with his little racing shoes and vintage racing coveralls on, that's what really put him up there for me.

No. He's passionate about his little piece of history. I'd rather hear from someone like him than any other sort.
He's pretentious and also doesn't know as much as he thinks he does about cars. Four times the performance Lol
良い音…耳が幸せ(* ̄∇ ̄*)
Cool car the exhaust sound sucks. What are they worth ?
The exhaust clatter sounds like an Opel Kadett on crystal meth.
Pretentious much? Also, can someone fact check this guy's math: Half the weight, double the horses, "four times the performance"? Really?
Actually, maybe not 4x the performance literally, but definitely 4x "HP per kilogram" ratio. If the stock weigh was, for example, 800 kg and it had 100 hp it would have 0.125 hp/kg, and if it is 400 kg with 200 hp it's 0.5 hp/kg which is four times as much...
bojsa agreed, but there's no way it's actually double the power, and half the weight.
This car reminds me of a Wraith
