I have the IVA-W200, while its a good unit it would be nice to upgrade. I also had the very first blackbird, what a joke, disapointment and waste of money. But this head unit looks like a winner. I think the fast start up time and best IPOD integration is what gives this unit the edge over it's competition.
Could i borrow a minute of your time? what 'wowed' me the most was the ipod controls and phone contact and dial functions. i dont need GPS. I would like a smoother, more asthetic display though. What dbl-din radio would you suggest for bang/buck in my case? Thanks!
i was wondering if you're able to control the ipod with the remote control.. like scrolling through artists instead of trying to use finger tapping while driving
Video uses analog. The cable that came with mine for ipod has a mini JACK that plugs into the back. It uses that for video. BUT also you need the bypass unit.. PTR 7. Also you have to choose 'video' from the playlist..
hey, i love this new alpine. i have a 2009 mercedes benz c300 sport w/o the comand navigation flip out screen and just a regular audio setup with bluetooth. i want to know if this your fit my car where the flip out screen location is... and how much with it cost for the whole setup and installation? ty for your time :)
can you guys help me out. I have a 2001 Acura TL. I have a sosche wire harness. There is an orange wire, and an orange/white wire on the harness. Is this the connection for the reverse from the alpine ixa-w407 unit. And is the imprint a must? I'm running Morel 6's 6.5 components with alpine pdx4.150. And where can I run the power for the HD tuner and imprint if I get it. Thanks, and I love this head unit so far. I'm blowing up my stock speakers for now.

@.SoundManCarAudio or any owners of this unit -- I noticed unlike the W502 or W505, iPods and iPhones must be connected through USB instead of iPod specific line. Normally on other units this means a slower response when you go to control the iPod from the LCD. Does it happen with the W407 or is the response speed adequate or just as fast as a iPod line ?
Hi I have a little problem and I may need some help from your side. I received the Alpine iXA-W407 and it was installed by a Pioneer proffesionalist. When you get into the Setup Menu there are at least 5 options, but I have just 1 (Audio Setup). The other problem is that I sync some videos on my iPhone 4 ( have tried and on iPod Touch 1 gen - same result) the videos are played like MP3s. There is no video, just sound. Have you got an idea what I can do and what may be the problem ?

would you reccomment this HU over a CDA 9886? is the navigation feature worth it? im looking for a GREAT touchscreen deck, and this 2din unit is good for its price, and i wanna know if it has different illumination
My car is stick shift, and the parking brake IS engaged, I've even tried tapping the floor brakes but the menus are still locked, and I refuse to open the thing up and install a bypass, what can I do?

If I disconnect my iPod and go to that video, it's usually 20-30 seconds past the start, as if it's been playing but not displaying or playing audio. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Hey man just saw this review and I'm lookin at gettin a double din for$400 and this one looks hella nice. Any other double din you would recommend for under $400? Doesn't have to be really fancy its goin in a 1969 Mustang.
Question...has anyone did anything with the ipersonalize for this headunit? It uses a bitmap for the image but I don't it's a normal bitmap I have trying to figure out for the longest to crack the code so I can make my own.

@ARIF350Z no, built in bluetooth, its a great unit. I just installed this myself. I'm getting the imprint next to see if I don't need a crossover.

I just installed this radio, I was very impressed by the video quality. But its all dependent on how you compressed it to put it on your iphone.
Does the Pioneer CD-BTB200 bluetooth module support the iphone phonebook upload and phone dialing on their units like the alpine did here??

I don't have the rcas for the ixaw407. I have a pxah100 can I just run the ai net cable instead to the double din
is there a shuffle song option for the ipod on this unit? this will be the deciding factor if i get it or not
