Amira sings "Una Furtiva Lagrima", together with her father on piano, and gives an interview for South African Internet Station Channel24.
On Friday 28th February and Saturday 1st March Amira performed on stage together with Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and Cape Town Opera Chorus during the Starlight Classics Concert at the Vergelegen Wine Estate near Cape Town.
This week, Amira will launch her charity project for childeren in Ikageng Township near Johannesburg.

I like the way you and your dad rendered this song. There seems to be something haunting and melancholy yet inspiring in the way you did it. I have heard Pavaroti sung it in you tube but I like your style better. Hope you can repost the complete video without the intervening interview.

I discovered opera via Amira. Based from all the comments I read, she has affected a lot. Her beautiful voice and love for the classical have shown us there is really beauty in what seems to be an obsolete art in a word dominated by the likes of Bieber and Miley.

I was brought up on heavy metal hated opera after hearing amira I quickly changed my mind she makes opera sound so enjoyable I have been converted so glad I found her music I still hate rap and hip hop

Or genes, being in a musical family, and putting effort into her singing with her parents' help.Don't detract from all that. That's what good parents do, what we did with our children and now grandchildren, and talents that are not so nurtured are useless. There are many religious people in this world who bar women from singing, and in those societies, Amira would be stifled.

this beautiful child is developing dark circles under her eyes. She is traveling all over the globe doing interviews and performing and it is plain that she is not getting proper rest. On top of this she has school and she is a marathon runner..This is a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice...I just hope she doesn't burn out.
