I played academy football until I was 17 and my coach always said stats are irrelevant except for analysis, the key for a good game is to put the ball in the back of the net and scare your opponents with how much of a threat you can pose throughout the game. You may not always score, but that will come, but you cannot score if you don’t pose a threat. You cannot force mistakes if you don’t pose a threat, you cannot dominate if the opponent isn’t worried about your threats. We may have had similar possession and a decent XG. But Liverpool did dominate us, they pressed us, they turned the ball over in great positions, they broke quickly and they had much more of a threat than we did. Liverpool looked bigger, stronger and quicker than us and they attacked with purpose. We did create some chances but we didn’t have that same conviction, we looked toothless and we looked timid and the midfield has no balance in it and midfield is the key to both offensive and defensive transitions, but it doesn’t work.

I played academy football until I was 17 and my coach always said stats are irrelevant except for analysis, the key for a good game is to put the ball in the back of the net and scare your opponents with how much of a threat you can pose throughout the game. You may not always score, but that will come, but you cannot score if you don’t pose a threat. You cannot force mistakes if you don’t pose a threat, you cannot dominate if the opponent isn’t worried about your threats.
We may have had similar possession and a decent XG. But Liverpool did dominate us, they pressed us, they turned the ball over in great positions, they broke quickly and they had much more of a threat than we did. Liverpool looked bigger, stronger and quicker than us and they attacked with purpose.
We did create some chances but we didn’t have that same conviction, we looked toothless and we looked timid and the midfield has no balance in it and midfield is the key to both offensive and defensive transitions, but it doesn’t work.

But that isn't the real Rashford. The real Rashford is really good 25% of the time and really quite bad the other 75%. He's very like Ousmane Dembele that way. Looks world class for a month.
