Chainmail 50th Anniversary

Chainmail by Jeff Perren and Gary Gygax celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year (2021). The game was developed in the late 1960s and was published in April of 1971. The game included a section for running fantasy battles like those found in fantasy fiction. Soon after the game was incorporated into Dave Arneson's Black Moor role-playing game . Ultimately, a large majority of Chainmail would find its way into Dungeons & Dragons, the world's first published role-playing game.
