Well now - Aneng is finally stepping up their game for real with some meaningful improvements and additions. Now if they want to keep the price same or lower and add a more vivid display, divorce the backlight from the flashlight and make the mA range 500 to 600 mA this one could be a real keeper as it seems to perform nicely otherwise, but price is a tad high. 25,000 count dual display is a real standout for Aneng, heres hoping for this one to blossom in the future.
Me gustaría saber si la respuesta de este sz-20 es rápida sobre todo de infinito a cero ohms y saber cuánta corriente consume para saber la duración de las pilas. Según dicen que es lento
i like the idea of how the display can be lit up, but the Light on the device next to the NCV pad alsi lights up , and i cannot get it to go out, they are both on at the same time i dont know if thats a a mistake or firmware error but it would be nice if it could be switched separately
Interesting input protection concept. The MOVs are usually on the voltage input as that is the mode that the meter will suffer from voltage spikes. Voltage spike won't have the same effect in current mode as the current shunt acts as the short, don't see the point of a MOV shorting out a current shunt.
So true , normally MOVs are bidirectional and non-linear surge suppressing components. As such , they are normally used for limiting voltage during a surge or transient.
Usually I’m not a fan of Aneng multimeters, but this one is all right. Decent accuracy, nice ranges (except for mA), better than usual input protection, good resolution, dual display is always nice to have. The bar graph doesn’t seem that fast though, but hey, at least it’s there. 👍
You’re right, $54 is a little too pricey for that. In this price range I would personally go for Uni-t just because their overall quality is more consistent, or wait for this one to go on sale.
Warren, about a simple way to check AC+DC mode: use a transformer (sinusoidal 60Hz) or any square wave output (as some Aneng have) and a 1.5V battery. Join negatives and isolate / “sum” the two voltage sources (AC and DC) joining their positive (in parallel), where each positive has a 47R resistor in series before joining them. It should give you a simple way to have an uncalibrated, but practical, AC+DC source to check this feature.
just watching your video again andon the aneng @17m33s i can see a 8 legged chip U2 top left , that looks like bottom left been blow apart, and on the large chip UL3 it has a big blob of solder on it, maybe connected , did you spot it yourself ?
The Venlab is killer. I think it's by far the best bang for buck meter you can get right now. I haven't had any discrepancies whatsoever with it against the shop Fluke so far. It's particularly great at measuring capacitance, which I find most multimeters fail at when and if they even have that feature.

Hello Darren. Hmm .... 0660 processor in this level of a multimeter, of course, does not look very nice. Although the protection is performed on CAT III. Completely agree with the assessment. The multimeter is good, but there are places where for this amount they could try better. Still, HOLD PEAK is hard to beat. Under the last video, I asked for a review on such an accurate multimeter, only from another company, but this is its complete analogue, the same OEM. Thanks Darren. You are the best.
I came for the multimeter and I stayed and subscribed for your content, edition, explanation... Amazing Do you still prefer the HT118E for the cheap-o?
That's great to hear !! Welcome my friend!! Yes, I do very much like the HT118E, all around I think it's still the best in the CHEAP-O Multimeter Realm! That being said, I also love my manual ranging Zotek ZT-980 and the new ANENG SZ20 is definitely not far behind! 😊
Dzień dobry z Polski! Szczęśliwy użytkownik ANENG AN870 :) Could you check the speed of the bar graph in the next reviews? It should be much faster than digital reading.
Yes my friend , i usually make it a point to verify the speed and accuracy of the bargraphs. I did compare the bargraph of the ANENG and Zotek in this review aa well👍
wow.. 25k counts! Bargraph, dual display and those other pros.. Aneng is definitely steal the spotlight. 👍 Agree about the LCD, i like the Zotek has than Aneng. Man, HT118A is having a hard time this year. 😅
On AliX, everything from $52/Cdn/free ship to $84/$27 ship/ WTF? They play games with the shipping a lot these days. But the delivery date is nearly the same. Always check the total price. I do like Aneng but already have a UT-61e+ and a Klein MM700..... As Dave Jones says, you can't have too many DMMs (HP 1740A repair). But I think I'll wait.
Hey Barry. Yup. Ali is dodgy when it comes to shipping. Different vendors and different shipping rates. Sometimes cheapest shipping is a bad option. The ANENG arrived quickly so it was worth the $. Luck always plays a role too.. Agreed, more multimeters the better but then after a few hundred you kind of lose count 🤔👍

It's a damn Multimeter, I had one of those and I DEEPLY REGRET IT, IT'S NOT WORTH A STAR, I THROW IT OUT. The best for me is the ASTROAI DM2000. It's THE BEST OF EVERYTHING!!

Blossom would be good! That input protection really poked me in the right place, definitely was not expecting this from ANENG. 😃

Great review as usual, thanks a bunch. I must say I was waiting for this one, seems like an interesting new product from Aneng.
Thx André ! It was definitely worth the wait.! All around a solid package that should keep most users extremely satisfied 😊👍
I bought one (38 US$) and I am very satisfied with the multimeter. Now I'm looking forward to receiving the next one I bought, an Aneng ST212!
Awesome sauce ! It's absolutely a great multimeter 😊
Darren one question… zotek, aneng, and kaiweets even habotest are suspicius similar are this brand the same company?
Hello my friend! Zotek is usually the OEM for Aneng, HABOTEST is the OEM for Kaiweets although they may have some firmware differences. 👍

Buen día alguien sabe cuanta corriente consume..(se mide en serie con las 3 pilas) y saber si es rápido. Gracias.

I have a feeling the price will drop on this ANENG fairly quickly. Definitely one of their better offerings as of late.
Sir please show frequency parameter of various multimeter to check drives of power supply.thanks

How does it reads on 4 to 20 mA ?
Like a champ...no worries there !

Hmmm..good observation 😮 I'll have to take another look and let you know..
@KeepOnTesting please do . I hope it's ok. But on video it does looks damaged
Thanks for showing the difference with the displays
Does aneng has acceptable and accurate multimeters although I should test them to
How about a comparison between aneng zs20 and kaiweets ht118E?
Even though aneng is supposed to have 5000 counts more resolution!
Interesting..
Ok on my list.. 😊
25000 count for the money is really good. On a side note, I have to say your b roll footage is amazing. Nice job as always my friend. 👍👍
Thx my friend! Agreed, those Xtra counts are definitely appreciated in the CHEAP-O zone.
Glad you like the b rolls ! 😊
DC amp clamps ? got the multi meter i want from you just waiting for amp clamp please
Clamps a comin!
@@KeepOnTesting Thankyou
I like the Klein CL390.
@@barrybogart5436 Thankyou will give it a look
Not bad at all. I just got the Venlab you showed a week ago. When this gets a little cheaper I'll get it.
Hi Tron, How are you liking the Venlab so far..?

is there a way to disable 15min. auto power off or to extend it?
Hold down on the Select/Rel button when you turn the meter on, you should hear 5 beeps, after that the Auto Shutdown is disabled.
Why refresh speeds are so bad? it performs as my 40 year old Keithley DMM :D
Interesting.
I found the refresh rate very good. The higher resolution will make it a tad slower in the lower ranges but it's negligible.
@@KeepOnTesting Check Amprobe PM55 for example, for really good refresh rate (in portable DMM of course).

Aww shucks, u- r- d best my friend 😊 LOMVUM is coming this month too!
I ordered one of these, the temp probe came in a metal tube. I cooked steak with it last week
Now you're talking.. a multimeter that can dish out a nice medium rare!
