I have been experimenting with Every civ for an fi and I was trying make for Aztecs and now this video pops up. Really helpful. Tho my network was bad so didnt understood how many vils to age up to colonial and how many vils to firepit

That's why you have to consider civs. Not everyone counters evenly.
Maces = super cheap.
Poor cav civ = screwed.

I love Aztecs, and I love skull knights even more. I pretty much only play against the AI, so I have to wonder if the Tezcatlipoca Temple card is viable online? Increasing the splash damage of skull knights and massing 20 of them in AI games never gets old, but I often wonder if that card even makes sense in online play.
You should play a game as Japan where a teammate gives you herded animals.

Yesterday i play aoe3 with my Friends, i was Sioux and one of them was japanese, we were playing in texas, so all the team (4 players) sent Japan all the cows we could find and i Age to V with the bison and hunting option... They were 30 bisons plus like 30 cows plus the deer and bison in the area... He run out of room in their shrines, and his economy was sky wise

For those of us who don't play Aoe3 and simply watch your vids. What are those Aztec units and how do you counter them?
All are countered by cannons if there is a meat shield and some skirmishers
Everyone has same units and special exclusive op units. But not everyone gets good artillery. Aztec unfortunately gets no artillery other than a mortar for sieging that is also an anti artillery unit, the Arrow Knight.
All Aztec units appear to be infantry units but are specialized classes.
Puma - Pike
Eagles - Goons/Musk
Jaguar - Swordsman (Musk in melee basically)
Coyotes - Cav
Mace - Skirm
Arrow knight - Mortar/culverin
Special unit: Skull Knight (OP swordsman) summoned from fire pit. Need to spend time to make. Which takes away from putting firepit on something better. It takes up population slots as you sit and mass, thus you have less army on field, and you're killing time as enemy is advancing.
Late game, Mace and Eagle is very op, or a stealthy army of Jags. Mace shoot very fast and wreck most units, plus they are great meat shields, they have high resistance to ranged units.
Eagle Knights (Goons) also shoot very fast. They can wipe french Gendarme as long as they keep their distance and can keep up with the eco. Musk are nothing to Eagle Knights or Mace. But cannons will kill an army of 50 of them in a quick shot.
You can also just spam Jags as they're the main unit and will handle anything late game. But they can be owned by ranged units, thus need stealth ability.
If enemy has artil, which they will unless they noobs vs Aztec, you have to use stealth or arrow knights. To play Aztec you have to be very strategic. There is no compensation for anything it is not a cheap civ like France. With France you can just spam Gendarme and kill any unit, regardless of counter. With Aztec every move counts, thus can be stressful and discouraging because of effort.
In my opinion Aztec is lowest tier in final stage. But very good early on because it's to mass and overhwelm. As long as you can maintain and be strategical through out a fight you can win. If you throw your men at 5 cannons you're done, remember your eco is very poor. Aztec requires the player to be top tier in microing. Or just go against a noob who doesnt use artillery or didnt age fast enough to access, and is overwhelmed.
Skull knights are stronger doppelsoldners. Maces are cheaper xbows. Anyway, skull knights are op in this strat since they shadowtech (automatically upgrade) and, overall, this strat is op because you don't need a really good eco to make a powerful army
All of them are infantry. But they have counter for everything. Puma count cav, coyote are melee cav , and mace counter heavy inf(musk and lancers) . Knights too , eagle are musk, puma are melee and count melee and arrow count art and cav. Now , You can watch skull HP an multipliers un the vid.
Cannons, but carousel the units guarding those cannons. If you spam skirms and cannons, coyote runners alone can get you. If you spam musks and cannons, maces and/or jag knights can get you.
One thing that almost always hold true vs aztec is this: never use cav past the colonial age. Almost every Fortress and Industrial age unit the aztec have counter cavalry (Jags, Eagles, Skull Knights are all scary good against cav). You'll almost never find an aztec army past the Colonial Age without a cav counter.

I used to do super Saiyan Skull Knight attack. FI. Too bad that if they kill them knights, you take way too much damage. And it's hard to go toe to toe with other civa at age 5. Mainly because no factories, wood, artillery. Goons are your main unit at the end. The Eagle Knights. And heavy stealth assaults with Jags.

@@fernandoaburto7040 3 v 3. Just because you FI doesnt mean you cant be held off. And FI is also variable to who controls map. If you are FI'ing and dont have map control, a french or jpn can easily jump to V.
Their economy is just a different tier.
@@ThePresentation010 Oh, then that's why. In team games it's just better to boom imo, bc opponent is likely to do what yours did. FI is much better in 1v1, specially if enemy civ (or player) is slower
Also, you have to consider that when you FI, there's almost no way your eco can be good, specially in the long run. As soon as you attack the whole game should turn completely on your side, otherwise, you lost

This only worked because he didn't know unit counters. Skirmishers and cav would have destroyed this
He couldn't train skirms he was age 2
if played right the warchief can kill 50 skirmishers by himself though. his speed can get as fast as gendarmes, but with 4x the health and unlimited area damage. hes able to one hit kill falconets with the swashbuckler attack.

15:05 if you had staggered your mace, the skulls wouldve ran between the mace and just killed the cav.
Instead of your mace running in tight formation and delaying skulls from hitting cav.
After staggering you could've stayed still or make a small box and select the mace in the front that the cav were targeting and move them, whilst Skulls run between then mace and directly to the cav, and the mace in the rear fire uninterrupted.
@dansil92 that just shows the fight is nooby. Which was pretty obvious. Enemy player didnt accomplish anything or know how to fight. I ain't hating. Just saying things that nubs can learn from. Obviously a person's skill is reflected by their play.
Been a while since I watched this channel, been subbed for long. But the 'Aztec FI' caught my attention because it was one of the skills I put time in to learn. Because a Major did it to me. And I was amazed.
