    I'm from Louisiana and our State Capitol is a spectacular landmark. I've always been a big fan of it's Art Deco architectural style and history.

    Beautiful building indeed. I like the fact that Baton Rouge does not have 20 mile high buildings. It's good to see the original flat country. Thank you for the history. Enjoy your channel. Take care, and be safe.

    We have 2 standing capital buildings in Ky. the old one now used as a museum, was built in the Greek Revival style in 1830. One of our governors ,William Goebel was assassinated on the sidewalk in front of the old capital there is a plaque there at the spot...they say the assailant shot from the building next door and was never identified. Goebel was sworn in on his deathbed and died 3 days later,his running mate then took office. The suit he was wearing was housed in the museum on the 2nd floor for years...I saw it years ago it had a very large hole in the chest area,don't know how he survived that long. Wikipedia has some very interesting things to say about Goebel,and says he remains the only American Governor to be assassinated in office. That was 1900,he was 44 years old and had never married. Oooo the goings on in politics...scandalous!! That building is beautiful,built to resemble the Empire state in NYC,and those gold doors,wow. The view on the 27th floor lovely,good to see you've got water in the river,Portage,Missouri had dry riverbed in November from the drought. Yes,nice tour, thank you . Au Revoir.

      Thank you so much! And yes, the Mississippi was super low a couple months ago;you should watch my USS Kidd vlog where I show how low the water was! By the way, the old Louisiana Capitol is down the street from this one, and I will be doing a vlog on it!

    It's cold and eerily quiet up there..unnervingly quiet. Like a morgue😮 but I suggest if you haven't been. Make it one spot on your bucket list

    Hi! Beautiful! Love the architect, some people taking some these historical houses, taking all history out of them! Very interesting history! Back in day times was rough! 🤗🥰

    I did enjoy this tour. I feel very good about Huey Long. He was killed bacause he would have defeated Roosevelt.

    • @travelwithoutacause
      @travelwithoutacause  2 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching! I assure you there was no underlying reason for showing or not showing any specific governor in the history of Louisiana besides Huey Long, which is whom this vlog was specifically about. I wasn't there to highlight any other governors. Louisiana has had many outstanding governors, including Blanco.
