- We just brought home our new six week old beagle Max. We were a little worried about how our 10 year old beagle Heidi would react, but they seem to be having fun playing.
Update March 28, 2012
Heidi, the older beagle who is now just over 11 years old, recently stopped eating her dog food. We took her to the vet and after xrays and ultrasound found she had a tumor in her spleen that spread to lymph nodes and liver. We don't anticipate she will be with us much longer, but we're glad that through this video everyone is able to share memories of happier days with us.
Update -
Our happy little girl Heidi passed away on May 23, 2012. We very much miss her, however there is some comfort knowing we've been able to share her playfulness with so many others.

Heidi’s wagging tail lets Max know that she is playing and is not a threat. So does her play bow. She is reassuring him that he can play with her without being afraid of her. Such a sweet girl!
I'm so sorry you lost your precious Heidi. She looks so happy here and I'm sure that's how you will always remember her

I never get enough of these beagle videos. Heidi looks a lot like my Shady. He was 15 when he died 4 years ago and the family talks about him every day
I have a Beagle, she i believe 12 years old now. They are wonderful dogs - my dog has been very sick all her life with eye and ear infections and also got diagnosed with cushings disease & pancreatitis which she's suffered for 2 yrs with. The vet doesn't know how she has stayed running ever since she got seriously sick. She's been a great dog even when she's sick now she will just lay with you and still give you kisses. Gonna miss her when she's goneThis video reminds me of when my dog was okay!

I'm amazed by how well behaved and patient Heidi is being with him.
I don't see many older dogs warm up to puppies so quickly. Heidi was quite the special girl with a spark in her. She's probably still watching over you and the remaining fuzzy buddy
Beagles rock!! Heidi sure was a cutie. Mac has big paws to fill. My beagle is 12 and starting to slow down. The good thing is that he doesn't know he's slowing down.
Sorry for the loss of your older dog Heidi, she looks so happy playing here with little Max.
This is just great to watch. I once brought a 4 week old Pomeranian puppy and introduced him to my 10 year old German Shepard, the way she growled at the sight of the puppy scared and confused the poor soul. She then all of a sudden became possessive for everything. She won't let him come near her food bowl and would make a disgusting look if she would spot someone cuddling that puppy. We tried for about 3 days, hoping that they would become friends. It din't work and we had to return the puppy.

I too just read your addition about Heidi and I am so sorry to hear the news. She sure seems like an awesome dog and I hope every minute you have with her is filled with happiness!!! I have two beagles that I just can't imagine living without! There is just something about that beagle love that is second to none!! :)

UA-cam has graced me again with an unexpected but beautiful video uploaded to UA-cam 10 years ago. Feels sad to know that the older beagle Heidi died, but I am certain she parted among her closest friends and with the warmest final hug.

sorry to hear about heidi. I also got a 6 week old beagle named charlie. he is now 4 months 2weeks. i love how beagles howl. it was tough for the first couple of months with charlie because how active he was. now he is more calm and usually through out the day he spends time with his friend blue "pitbull". i always get a laugh when i have him chase me around the park and he starts to bay chasing me.

One of the healthiest adult Beagles i have ever seen....they usually end up obese and sluggish and just so pathetic....VERY ADORABLE DOG. Love it. Good job...i'm sorry for your loss, but am glad you had such a great dog as a Friend.

Oh, so sorry to hear about heidi. We just lost our 14 year old beagle lulu last april 19. It was so sad and looking through her videos bring good memories of her. So when i saw this video, it just touch my heart

This is just like my beagles. Rory was almost 2 when her little brother Jamie came to live with us. Now he is bigger than her but they still have just as much fun.
You should be very proud of Heidi! She did an awesome job with the new "intruder". Showed him that she was top dog in a gentle, beagle way. Beages are the best dogs in the world!

Its cute and so funny how the puppy hopped around, it reminded me of a boxing ring as they played as the older experienced one just stood and waited whilst the young one hopped around looking silly and tiring himself. Its so cute, its like he is a bunny rabbit! :P

So sorry to hear of Heidi's passing. My beagle passed away quite unexpectedly. I found her dead Christmas Eve morning. She reminds me a lot of Heidi.
