Hello, I run a VR center / arcade and decided to finally figure out how to use LIV now that we're temporarily shutdown. I've searched through several videos and this proved the most comprehensive and well put together; very thorough, easy to follow, and time efficient. Thanks to you video I've made rapid progress. Keep up the excellent work~
Been playing VR for a year now. You, Otterworldly and LSToast have all been helpful with your tutorials on how to setup a MR studio. Since we move every few months for work. I had to make a mobile setup. Your tutorial is extremely useful. Thank you for all the hard work.
Great setup guide, I wish I had this when I was making my mixed reality setup I will be redoing my setup in a couple months and I will be buying some of those floor tiles for sure.
Hey thanks heaps me and my friend are working on a setup for vr to stream and UA-cam and this helped out heaps! Plus I have to say I love your freaking hair!! Seriously it's my fav colour! Keep up the hard work def subscribing and following!
I don't have a VR setup but watching you on beat saber and then watching how you do the whole video process is amazing. I really enjoy how you explain in layman's terms instead of going all star tech. Keep up the good work and thanks for keeping it simple.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was able to capture my first mixed reality video after a couple of hours of setup including the green screen. Very well done video!
@UC5nYxYEEJQ0uDsCSM4VIX5A I can’t speak to if it is the best, but it is still relevant. I found it lead me straight through the process. This video doesn’t cover everything, but it covers the basics to get up and running perfectly. I also avoid older videos if I can, but I watch a fair amount of Nasay’s content, so I was confident I was getting good information.
I Havnt even finished, and im subscribed. I dont even own VR, and im hooked. (3 pages ive written down of instructions). I HONESTLY dont think, in ANY field of ANYTHING (including my Music Studio) ive EVER witnessed such PERFECT explanations, and information. I really can not explain just how GREAT and wonderful you are. I know i sound weird offering praise like this (us Aussies arnt really inclined to Praise, and well as a Man, it wasnt what i was raised to do.) BUT, it has to be said....At least by me. YOU, are the GREATEST UA-cam "Teacher?" i dont know what they call you guys? BUT for me, you taught me, and i didnt feel like you were PAID to do so? Make sense? Anyway..this comment will get lost, UNTIL...GOD wants YOU to hear it!
I never thought about doing this. I didn't even want to do this, but I love watching your content. Ive shared your videos to a lot of people. I hope you grow fast, I hope you keep making the great content forever, but until then, love ya 😘
WOW. That was a great walkthrough for the understanding of how mixed reality works. I will look into the previous comments to see if anyone has already answered the other questions that I have. Be Well and Good Journey. Richie
Thank you SO MUCH for making this video. I have been searching for a good guide to mix reality and there really isn't anything out there that explains everything step by step and presents it in such a comprehensive way as you have done here. I think you hit all the Mark's and even touched on options most people would not think of. I have been following your posts as a guide to find new custom songs to download and I wanted to reach out to you and ask you what guides you followed to do your setup when you posted this guide.... really well done. The video editing with screen capture and multiple angles was amazing... the dogs were brilliant. At present I don't have the proper computer, space, LINK for my Quest, or the green screen stuff but my goal is to have a setup done by summer so that I can share my experiences with friends online.. when I do I will make sure to send you a link with a big thank you AGAIN! WELL DONE! YOU ROCK!
thank you so much for doing such a great tutorial AND being so optimistic! During the many expletive-ridden tirades that occurred during my setup; your video still made it feel like I could complete the set-up... and I did, thanks!!!!!!
funny part though i thought its gonna cost me another $1000 for a recording camera but nope coincidentally i have a camera i bought 2-3 years ago which i never used to my surprise its same as yours with the same company brand that gave me huge relief never in my life have i said I love you to a webcam device, highlighting different topics of the video in the bio was very helpful.
Wow - that was exactly what I needed!. You gave me the idea of the flooring so I just ordered some green mats. And if that doesn't do it, one could simply paint a big board or something to lay down. Also the mask thing was great seeing. I really struggle with cropping too much out, so that was a good thing to know :-). Thanks for this guide - it was awesome!
Didn't know about the static mask, still having trouble finding the best physical location for my camera (Brio) so I don't end up blocking most of the blocks coming at me in Beat Saber. Thanks for the video!
For those in smaller spaces or living with someone who doesn't want a green room: You can use a Kinect instead. LIV supports those old 3D cameras that used to come with Xboxes natively, and will use it to generate a virtual green screen, cutting you out of the room. While it doesn't look as real green screen, it will let you have the fun of mixed reality with the unobtrusive footprint of a Kinect on the wall of your normal room, rather than a dedicated jello corner. Plus it adds a cool extra layer of mystery: letting people play VR only to turn on the TV to reveal themselves in the game feels like you own a Holodeck. It also works with the new Azure Kinect which outputs high quality, but they coat a couple hundred US dollars. Again, for some that'll be preferable or more feasible than painting their rented flat 😂
thanks for the info on this. have just been looking at getting a better camera angle on my videos. for beat saber. was looking for the quest 3 so wow this works because i use Steam VR.
Holy crap, Naysy! Long time - I used to watch you on Twitch years ago. Glad to see you're still going! Sorry I haven't dropped by in forever - I don't really use twitch anymore.
I am not planning on doing any of this, nor do I have a pc, green screen or even a head set. Heck, I’ve never even played beatsaber, but I still watched this entire video
Thanks for making this guide - I think a lot of people have been looking for something as clear and informative as this - fantastic work. I'm also in AU and was looking at the link to the green floor mats, and Amazon says they don't ship to my area - I might be able to get around that, but wanted to check if you got the 'green' or 'lime green' ones. I think it's 'green' looking at the preview on Amazon - that looks closest to the green screen colour anyway :D Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!!
thank you, just got my greenscreen for videos then decided to do some mixed reality sense i enjoy beat saber also i was so scared i wouldnt be able to use my dslr, but thank god
you're so pretty, i love your hair!! ^w^ ~~ i wish i could do this but my apartment is too small for that much set up ;A; i can only use avatars for now >u
This is a great video! Can you please talk a little about the different angles of the camera? Distance from the stern screen? What are the best angles, etc.? I think mixed reality is a great add on for when I'm hosting VR parties at home and only one person is using it, the rest of the party can have a better look at what is happening. Thanks girls, +1 follower 😉
Sorry, may I ask how I get the image in 15:24? I don't get a video output on external display and only can see the image on the headset. How do I get the image I see on the headset to external display? Thanks.
Thanks for the tutorial! Mixed reality looks so cool, wish it were easier to get up and running but guess it comes with the territory. I'll have to make it a project someday.
This is so F&*6in perfect. I went to other videos and know one explain like you did. People did mention about the headset. But no one mention you have to use the headset for the calibration. I wasn't using the headset for the calibration.
I came here for the advise, but I'm staying for the 5th Element reference (: thanks for all the tips and advice! I've finally got a greenscreen and am trying this tonight
Why am I watching this? I don't even have a proper PC or a VR Headset but I still watched the whole video

To solve the mat issue you could try glueing them with a construction adhesive to a plywood subfloor or something so they are less likely to shift
