My name is Eric and I travel with my cats, “Tara” & “Opie” in a 24ft 2002 Ford Bigfoot Class C and tow either a 2014 lifted Smart Car named “Tater Tot” or my 2012 Harley Softail Slim named “Black Betty” in a 6x10 trailer. We travel about 35 miles a day chasing 70 degrees year-round since 2010.

Yes, Arizona has many beautiful features, and I loved all 7 years that I lived in Phoenix and Tempe. But after awhile I started missing the four seasons of the Midwest where I was raised - especially the Fall season in rural Illinois. Anyway, here I am back in Illinois, enjoying your videos and remembering many good times in AZ.

I love Oak Creek Canyon, my dad took me there when I was a child 55 years ago. It was one of my favorite places of the trip. There was no State Park back then but I always said it should be one when I was little. They always said there was an airplane that crashed and we would always look for the shiny wreckage up on the edge of the canyon (I could never see it). It is a beautiful place!

The red rocks reminds me of way up north, in the Northern Territory and that huge rock Uluru. Its winter time now but way up north especially in Darwin its way warmer than down here. But I suppose it was nearly 20.C today which is warm for here.

We visited Slide Rock many years ago and nearly took a pratfall like that poor fella....until someone more experienced than us advised us to put on a pair of old socks when clambering on the wet rocks. How could that work? But it DID, like a charm. No more slippage.
My go to CB order, corn bread biscuit with the berry jam, chicken fried steak white gravy double mashed tater,and apple sauce 🫶🏼 and the lemonade is delicious

Love Slide rock, but haven’t been there for years cuz it gets so crowded. A state park pass would be great, then you can go many lakes. Lyman Lake state park is near St John’s. Not as pretty but good kayaking and such for a day

I was lucky enough to grow up there ❤️ Back then we'd often have all of Slide Rock to ourselves and not see a single other person all day. Things sure have changed!

if the mechanic is that busy, and popular, it must be a good sign. That means he does good work, so everyone goes to him. sorta like a resturant, if it is packed always, they must have good food usually. but if you go to a resturant during lunch time and there dead, no customers.. something could be up with the food. LOL.

It's like a paint shop. It will sit until the better paying work is done. They don't plan ahead. When the better paying work is done, you had better have your vehicle sitting in the parking lot. In the body shop business, it's referred to as "paint jail".

Lookwd very refreshing! Qenr there as a teen, not a park, free to get in I think. Native Americans used that for the same entertainment for a long time before anyone else discovered its great draw.
Put a trailer hitch on the Harley and get a small trailer. Then you can haul groceries or camping gear for one-off adventures.

If you want a great tubing experience, trying tubing the Arizona Salt River. Best tubing in the southwest. Will dwarf anything you've done before.
I saw some signs for white river rafting (tour guide) last time I went thru there. Is there a place to tube for free on your own down there? Any info appreciated.
@@nomadicfanatic You can Tube for miles, buses take you back to your car. Or park at the end and ride a bus up to the starting point. Try searching "Salt River Tubing." Tonto National Forest. Good luck.
