@@barrybend7189 By the time of the ZX series, "Mega Man" was reduced to a title as opposed to the name of a specific character. The playable characters, the antagonists, anyone who could sync up with a Biometal were referred to as a "Mega Man". The dialogue in those games throws the term around left, right, and center. You also have to bear in mind that they couldn't truly be considered as "Mega Men" in the sense that they were expies of MM-Classic. If anything, Vent/Aile and Ashe/Gray are closer to Zero and Axl respectively, at least in terms of gameplay.
Oh and here is a good story there could have been a commercial about how X was better than classic in every way so classic goes and picks a fight with X then being peace keepers the others try to break up the fight.
Although EXE definitely would stomp everyone if the fight took place in the cyberworld, I don't think that his power levels will translate 100% into the realworld, cause most of the high end ones involves overwriting data, something he can't do in the real world. With that in mind, he should still be able to fight on even terms against Starforce irl, but I do think the latter have a higher chance to win.
The anime which deals with “the digital world affecting the real world” basically claimed it’s something similar to a 1-to-1 situation other then the complete “deleting and remaking the universe” type things which was from a specific bug that affected Megaman that he couldn’t access again in the anime. (It’s weaker in the games)
I'm absolutely not familliar with Megaman universe, but... isn't it an advantage rather than a disadvantage? Even if he couldn't get into real world, he is a stream of data - you cannot shoot data, you need to fight it using firewalls and antiviruses, a familiar territory for .EXE ...
Knowing all of them, in terms of main 'Mega Man' without a doubt my favourite is X, being one of my favourite characters ever. In terms games though, definitely the Star Force series. It was nice to have a Mega Man series of games that clearly had a plot and character development, and Star Force 1 in particular probably has one of the best in any game aimed at that age group.
@@jennifergriel861 yeah i know. I'm saying when they mentioned uninstall they were talking about the other 3. Classic, X, and volnutt. They were not talking about Starforce.
I think maybe 5 combatants were a few too many. Both in having to rush through the analysis and in making the fight hard to follow. Especially when they all look so similar; little dudes in blue armour.
If you watch closely you can see the final blast destroy X, but then in the blast you can see the shadow figure become Star Force. It took me a few times rewatching it to see it. Also, they briefed over that speed feat.
Funnily enough this battle was spoiled for me long before this ever came into existence. I remember reading through one of the researcher's fan Death Battles which was a Megaman Battle Royale and the results were about the same though I forget if he assumed EXE or Starforce would win, they were the last ones standing though. I think the only difference is Zero was also included in the fight but they still saw EXE and Starforce dominating. Remembering that, I was expecting one of them to win and I did think Starforce was going to win but for some reason when the video said "EXE went around the entire cyber universe" it didn't click in my head so I focused more on the black hole feat. I will say though, I didn't actually have any trouble telling the Megamen apart though you did say you were running on 4 hours sleep so I don't blame you. After the slight disappointment of Aquaman vs Namor as a season premier, this fight was awesome though not too interested in the next fight. Will still watch it but I am not familiar with EITHER of them in terms of abilities and feats so they might as well be equal in my eyes. At the moment I am willing to say Black Widow is faster because she by all accounts should be able to keep up with Daredevil who can dodge and deflect gunfire as well as keep up with Spiderman who is super human. I can't think of any feat from Widowmaker, especially speed wise. I think she kinda kept up with Tracer but no clue.
Idk about Star Force but they did say EXE could resist having his data assimilated at 15:42 (your video) which probably played a factor for resisting data manipulation. And they did not mention the universe calc sure but that calc is massive so I understand why they wouldn't put it in the pre-analysis but they did mention the feat though (17:11).
I had to watch the battle twice to figure out what happened. I also care about story, but probably not as much. Another good video, and I'm glad these recent death battles have been to your liking. Also, I know you plan on playing Mega Man 6, and maybe MM Legends Vol. 2, but have you considered the new Mega Man 11 game after that? Might as well finish the whole classic era, ya know?
I've never played a Mega Man game and had absolutely no idea what was happening. Aside from classic, I can't recognize any of them. It was extremely frustrating. Also, they admitted that Volnutt was only in there because he's in Mega Man's Final Smash in Smash Bros.
They could've done more animation if they didn't include Volnutt So Diet Mega Man here was literally taking up time that could be used for other Super Fighting Robots
I'm really torn by the animation. As you said: It is cool AND cluttered. While the animations themselves were cool, the fight itself was very confusing. Rewatching made me understand it better, but it also showed more deeply the issues: - Entrance: Why were X, Exe and Starforce literally thrown into the scene like a pile of trash? - Odd number of combatants: An even number would allow for more 1-on-1s which is less chaotic than all combatants at once doing stuff (like in the beginning). With an odd number there's always one character that is hard to fit in. In this case: Volnut, who was handled very poorly (see below). - Volnut: He was made to be the laughing stock, but it resulted in a bad way he was moved around. After he was knocked down the building and Megaman and X fell down, too, it is confusing how and why he was out of sight for a long time. After he came to shoot X in the back, Megaman and X went on fighting each other until he suddenly appeared somehow inbetween of them (when the other two crashed down on him). - Looking almost defeated: Exe, Megaman and X each had early on one moment were they looked worn down, but just shortly after (like when they changed armor) they seemed to be perfectly fine. - Deaths: Could have been portrayed much better. The black hole looked more like it made Volnut, Megaman and X just disappear rather than destroying them. Also: After Megaman hit Volnut into the black hole, the camera switches to Exe and Starforce and then back to Volnut - again - getting sucked in. I think it would have been much better if the camera would have focused on Volnut during that entire time span ending with a death sequence. - Too few weapons: These guys are known for their huge arsenal of weapons, so it was disappointing to see only so few of them. - Too short fight sequences: Every time when there is an interesting 1-on-1 (Megaman vs X, Exe vs Starforce) it only lasts a short moment before it cuts to the others or new combatants appear.
I also found it weird that Starforce was so badly damaged by the black hole exploding when his "Black End Galaxy" attack is him creating a black hole and then making it explode. EXE is then shown healing using his battle chips, but Starforce is left damaged, despite having healing battle cards of his own, for the sake of having Starforce retreat into X's body.
@@godqueensadie Weird thing is, that's really how it worked in his first game. Once EXE was out of battle and just doing whatever in the Cyberworld, he would go back to max HP immediately. From the 2nd game on, he needed to either use battlechips (such as Roll's Navi chips) and subchips to heal, or else return to Lan's PET. It's been more than a decade since I've seen the anime and I've never read the manga, so I don't know how it works in those media.
@@greentoonlink That's why he retreated? To me it looked like he went into X because he was stronger (or his ridiculous regeneration abilities). I simply ignored the state of "being damaged" because it didn't mean anything in all the cases before. I've watched the fight four times now and didn't even catch that EXE was healing. They really should have focused more on single fighters when something important was happening to them - like healing or dying.
@@lozofspielereien My guess is Geo took X's body because the arm that was destroyed was his buster arm. From the analysis I think SF Mega Man was stronger than X, but still far outclassed by EXE, which isn't really shown by the animation since it implies Starforce _had_ to overwrite X's programming in order to beat him. I'm still not even sure if that attack he used at the end was supposed to be Red Gaia Eraser.
I really enjoyed this one and like you, I also got to know the Mega Man series starting with watching the anime that EXE was in a long time ago and let's just say, I was excited when I saw him. So him winning this fight was really good since I really like that incarnation of Mega Man but I guess it's the memories of watching NT Warrior on television that really made me hope that EXE wins it. But with the next fight, not too familiar with both characters so I am just going to watch the previews first before making my decision on who I want to win.

I'm very late, but Volnutt was so screwed in this fight that Volnutt compared to Exe was the most onesided matchup to exist up until the Super Friends Aquaman vs Spongebob fight. Ironically, this fight also has the 2nd fastest speed feat they could calculate, ironically also losing to that same Spongebob fight
See volnutt and classic clearly died from the black hole and then Star force corrupted X’s body forcing him to go after EXE Exe blasted both X and star force to dust
One time I watch this there was Close captions about the mega men talking to each other and they are fighting for a rooftop, honestly in my opinion and that should make it a mr x tournament and they are just participate in it. My mistake for putting theme instead of time.
It was only within the past day or so that I found out that they had closed captions for this battle in the first place. By the end of it all, the winner's like, "...and all this over a roof?"

@@TheDougio Yeah. If it's on a small mobile device, using a 3DS for example, the captions never appear. All I can figure is that trying to incorporate them for devices that size and still having them be readable would inadvertently block stuff from being seen.

Tbh, considering the other Mega Men's worlds could possibly be considered fiction in EXE's (just like there are references to other video games in said games), I think it's safe to say that regardless of whether this was Classic's or X's time period (which is unclear because X came in with the two "alternative timeline" Mega Men while classic and Volnutt were already there with classic having just normally teleported there, but the graphics point at it being in X's time period instead, so… wat), he would still be able to use his cyberworld powers, and would remain just as powerful. Hell, I think even in his game, he's that powerful outside of Cyberworld as well. And yes, they mentioned pretty much everything that made EXE win, BEFORE the animation had him win. Though things like the entire Cyberworld search were left pretty vague before and only explained after the animation. And yes, Star Force technically got second and X technically got third. I mean the latter couldn't do anything after the former possesed him anyway, so he was pretty much already losing at that point.
My favorite part of the fight is how, if you pay attention, with the exception of the Black Hole Bomb on Volnutt with the others, Mega Man Classic targeted X the ENTIRE FIGHT, only attacking him, and choosing to specifically shoot him when time was frozen, when .EXE and Star Force were much better choices. Why did Mega Man Classic do this? Because X was designed to be better then him and every way, and not only is that a huge threat, it's kind of insulting? Like, that's how Proto Man felt when he saw that Light just made another son, imagine being told your father figure built a version of you that's better in every way, wouldn't you want to throw hands with that V2, and ONLY that V2?
> Megaman Starforce's most powerful form is his Red Joker form First: Black Ace is more powerful because **BLACK HOLE**!? Second: It's one thing to omit a power like EXE's Cross Forms and it's another to talk about an ability but never use it -_- If you ask me, X should have beem the clear victor given that he never truly died because he lived on as a Cyber Elf, but we have seen EXE get deleted, so them presenting EXE as an omnipotent powerful Navi is blown so much out of proportion
Not to mention Volnutt was literally featured for less than a minute and didnt even fight minus a couple of shots Overall a very disappointing Death Battle

I'll leaning towards Black Widow right now; she's existed as a character for a lot longer so has had more time to become more powerful, she canonically has a lot more training and experience, and while she doesn't have superpowers, I imagine she just have taken hits from big bads in the past that would show she has good durability.
inklingzero long distance I give it to widowmaker close combat black widow. Widowmaker have to keep her distance with her grappling hook and venom mines while black widow have to get in close with her pistols and martial arts
I wish X won the battle because I've become a Megaman fan through X and that also got me into Zero which Zero is my favorite character from Megaman but I really wish X won instead EXE
I knew exe or starforce was going to win because of one simple reason both of them can take over / destroy a machine from the inside. And what are the other 3, robot/machines. So yeah it would have ended with starforce vs exe anyway
mother elf isn't from any of the x games, she is from the megaman zero series, it's a long story but x used the mother elf to cure everyone zero went into hibernation so that people could wake him up when they needed him then x died and someone made a copy of him to uphold peace but the copy x went evil and took over the world and zero has to stop him.

You also have to bear in mind that they couldn't truly be considered as "Mega Men" in the sense that they were expies of MM-Classic. If anything, Vent/Aile and Ashe/Gray are closer to Zero and Axl respectively, at least in terms of gameplay.
@@phibbykaden yeah but I mainly pointed out the animation woes if they did use them. 7 Sprites and 21 sprites are a lot.
@@barrybend7189 Yeah, I ain't denying that. Needing to sort through that many sprites would've been a pain.
My question is, how would EXE’s chips like uninstall work on Star Force? He’s not a computer in any way. Not a deal breaker, just curious.
He was talking about the other 3. As he says "other megamen" except volnutt. He got 1 xD
MrThegio65656pl no. Not Volnutt. Star Force. The EM wave alien cat one.
@@jennifergriel861 yeah i know. I'm saying when they mentioned uninstall they were talking about the other 3. Classic, X, and volnutt. They were not talking about Starforce.
@@MrThegio65656pl no they were talking about volnutt not starforce he ues cards
I think maybe 5 combatants were a few too many. Both in having to rush through the analysis and in making the fight hard to follow. Especially when they all look so similar; little dudes in blue armour.
Ris Grestar says versus Mega Man for 10 hours lol
If you watch closely you can see the final blast destroy X, but then in the blast you can see the shadow figure become Star Force. It took me a few times rewatching it to see it. Also, they briefed over that speed feat.
I think a story could've been made, but the only two I had trouble telling the difference with was star force and exe.
Oh, 11 is new?
Ris Reacts
Yeah, 11 came out last year. You can see bits of the game at 5:44
Oddly enough, the short one minute melee battles, by Hyun’s dojo, have more story to the fights than the full length death battles.
No matter whom you thought would win, no one said the sentence "Volnutt will win or not be the weakest link".
I've never played a Mega Man game and had absolutely no idea what was happening. Aside from classic, I can't recognize any of them. It was extremely frustrating.
Also, they admitted that Volnutt was only in there because he's in Mega Man's Final Smash in Smash Bros.
They could've done more animation if they didn't include Volnutt
So Diet Mega Man here was literally taking up time that could be used for other Super Fighting Robots
I'm really torn by the animation. As you said: It is cool AND cluttered. While the animations themselves were cool, the fight itself was very confusing. Rewatching made me understand it better, but it also showed more deeply the issues:
- Entrance: Why were X, Exe and Starforce literally thrown into the scene like a pile of trash?
@@greentoonlink EXE doesn't need battle chips to heal, he can just regenerate damage done because he's made of data.
But with the next fight, not too familiar with both characters so I am just going to watch the previews first before making my decision on who I want to win.
needless to say, EXE is op and volnutt is weak as hell(barely did anything in the fight).
32:00 the NUMBER was not, the FEAT was. I remarked you talking to us over the part when it happened and thought "he's gonna say he missed that speed feat"
I understand though, you gotta commentate to us, I'm not mad, just wanted to point out they DID in fact give us that feat, just without the numbers.

Are you going to back to MMBN series? 2 through 6 are awesome! If so, 3 Blue, 4 Blue Moon, 5 Team Colonel, 6 Falzar
Also Dean, you should check out the Legends series, The PS1 titles can be a little expensive, but if you have a ps4, maybe they're on the E-store? The gameplay and story in those two (and a villain's origin story) games are worth an experience and very unique take on the megaman franchise.
I'm very late, but Volnutt was so screwed in this fight that Volnutt compared to Exe was the most onesided matchup to exist up until the Super Friends Aquaman vs Spongebob fight.
Ironically, this fight also has the 2nd fastest speed feat they could calculate, ironically also losing to that same Spongebob fight
a-mega-ing battle
See volnutt and classic clearly died from the black hole and then Star force corrupted X’s body forcing him to go after EXE Exe blasted both X and star force to dust
I mean it was always going to be EXE or Starforce, I prefer Starforce but I'm not upset EXE won.
Wow, who woulda thunk Mega Man would win
Best intro
One time I watch this there was Close captions about the mega men talking to each other and they are fighting for a rooftop, honestly in my opinion and that should make it a mr x tournament and they are just participate in it. My mistake for putting theme instead of time.
It was only within the past day or so that I found out that they had closed captions for this battle in the first place. By the end of it all, the winner's like, "...and all this over a roof?"
You guys talk about this like there was dialogue in the captions for the fight but when I watched the fight with captions on, nothing appeared, it could be because I'm on mobile but I don't know.
The next I watched it no captions so ether it appears at times or it appear for one day. So yea.
@@TheDougio Yeah. If it's on a small mobile device, using a 3DS for example, the captions never appear. All I can figure is that trying to incorporate them for devices that size and still having them be readable would inadvertently block stuff from being seen.
@@nettune9980X Huh. Really? That's... rather confusing.

Volnutt should’ve worn his helmet
Remember kids always wear your helmet to stay safe -gi joe
7:06 The original pitch looked a lot better, but...remember, this was the age of focus groups.
The only reason they didn't mention it in detail is because it would have been giving away the winner

Even Volnutt would beat him, lol
> Megaman Starforce's most powerful form is his Red Joker form
First:
Black Ace is more powerful because **BLACK HOLE**!?
Second:
It's one thing to omit a power like EXE's Cross Forms and it's another to talk about an ability but never use it -_-
If you ask me, X should have beem the clear victor given that he never truly died because he lived on as a Cyber Elf, but we have seen EXE get deleted, so them presenting EXE as an omnipotent powerful Navi is blown so much out of proportion
Not to mention Volnutt was literally featured for less than a minute and didnt even fight minus a couple of shots
Overall a very disappointing Death Battle
Red joker in game is stronger due to his super armor which doesn't allow him to flinch. I really like black ace but that's how it is.

I'll leaning towards Black Widow right now; she's existed as a character for a lot longer so has had more time to become more powerful, she canonically has a lot more training and experience, and while she doesn't have superpowers, I imagine she just have taken hits from big bads in the past that would show she has good durability.
