Just wanted to clear up that you can rotate up to ninety degrees in either direction when you spin. You could take zero degrees of spin and keep going straight but you still collect a hazard.

Driving fast is good. If somebody shoots me and I'm in gear 6, I get to roll 6 dice to evade. Lower gears are slower, easy targets and less evade dice.

I played Gaslands MicroMachines at work during lunch break with my supervisor. We each had one car with 2 crew. Driver with handgun and passenger with submachine gun. Track was a straight winding road. I had pole position and made it through 1st gate weapons activation. My opponent was just of range to fire on. He moved close and shot up my car while I could only defend. I moved again and was out of range. He moved close and shot up my car again. He was able to shoot my car every turn and I was only able to roll defend dice the whole game. I made it to the finish line with only one hull point left.
