As a recent middle school graduate, here are some of my tips for you guys that are heading there:
- during the first week, make sure to speak to different people you might want to be friends with, and kinda get out your comfort zone to talk to people. When i was in 6th grade i was super shy so I was lonely at times 😢. But once I got out my comfort zone i made lots of friends!
- If you are scared about getting lost at school dont worry! At open house they might give out maps and your school schedule so you can walk around and find out where some of your classes are. From my experience, all my classes in every grade were pretty much near each other besides electives (it might be different for some of you guys schools.) Another tip i picked up is ask your classmates who is going to the same class as you, so even if you dont know where your going that classmate might. During transition time, there will be a lot of people in the hallway as well. Make sure to say excuse me if you bump into someone!
- take school seriously! Your grades do matter and personally i think the 3 years passed by super fast for me. Try and do your best on the assignments! Make sure to ask your teachers for help when you need it. Some of my teachers do move quickly from topic to topic, so if you need extra help, there may be websites and videos that can help you understand the topic better. Also maybe try and think about your interests and things that interest you that you might want to start as a career. There isn't any pressure for you to know what you want to do in middle school, but in highschool they have classes you can take that can lead you to a career. For example, for my freshman year I'm deciding to take culinary for all 4 years and also psychology. If your middle school offers classes that give you a high school credit, I recommend taking that class. In high school you need a certain amount of credits to graduate. In middle school I took math I and Spanish I, so I can jump to Spanish and math II and highschool and not have to take these classes every year.

tips for making friends:
on the first day try to find AT LEAST one friend. esp if you dont have any friends or just moved. walk up to someone you think is cool and compliment them, then ask to sit with them if its lunch. boom, you now have a new bsf and if they say no find another one

the fact right when i was nearing the end of the video i sat and thought and then realised i might not be able to put this to the test bc i go to an online school BAHAH 😭😭😭
thankfully though, as a soon to be eighth grader, i may not have any math classes for senior year as well!! i take a high school math course...going into math 2 this year hopefully i pass woohoo

this vid probably helped a lot of people, and as someone who’s going to high school in 2 weeks i have some tips that will def help make middle school the best years of ur life. i’m ngl middle school was absolute hell (especially 7th grade). i’m not saying ur middle school experience will b horrible but here’s some things i WISHH i knew going into middle school.
- don’t get yourself a bad reputation in middle school, especially if you live in a small town because principals and superintendents DO TALK ABT U, and you want them to be saying good things, not bad things.
- avoid fighting/instigating fights. only fight to defend yourself. it will look horrible on your middle school transcripts and will only get you trouble, and getting into tons of fights will only have you walking into high school with a target on your back. i got into one fight my entire middle school career and i didn’t even wanna fight her it was just bc she had put her hands on ME FIRST, and they still tried to charge me, it’s just not worth it, because if somebody hits you too hard you can get seriously injured, and believe it or not you can kill someone if you hit them hard enough in the wrong spot (possible lifetime in prison is worth it right?) esp if they decide to try and press charges.
- don’t get into,start OR instigate drama. if someone is talking abt you, ignore them, if the drama doesn’t involve you stay out it, and don’t listen to what ppl are telling you that person is saying abt u unless they say it to ur face, that’s exactly how drama starts. but don’t let nobody bully you, know when you have to stand up for urself, but don’t just lash out at every small comment somebody makes about you. and if you go into middle school getting into drama intentional or not, your middle school experience will not be good. (ask me how i know 🤣👎🏾)
- don’t let minor things you can’t control stress you out, if you got a bad grade and you studied it ok, you’ll do better next time. don’t beat urself up for little things, you’ll get it the next time around 🤞🏾
- please care abt ur grades, coming from someone who had a’s and b’s every year,middle school is VERY easy IF YOU PAY ATTENTION and if you don’t understand something, ask your teacher if they have a few minutes during lunch, or look it up on yt, that always works for me. and yes grades do matter. the grades you have for middle school (especially 8th grade) can determine what classes you get into for high school, and if you have to retake a class, and trust me you do not wanna b doing summer school while evb else is having fun 🙅🏾♀️
- take care of ur hygiene, try to shower everyday in the morning b4 school, and if you don’t have enough time shower the night b4. these next few things might sound obvi, but ppl in middle school are musty asf and they will talk abt u if you stink so pls, wear deodorant, perfume, cologne, and keep an emergency kit in your locker or backpack at all times it came in handy so much during middle school, and if your friends need something you can give it to them. :)
- build relationships with your teachers, don’t be disrespectful in class, pay attention, and ask questions. if you need help with something or are struggling ask them if you could stay after class or a couple minutes during lunch. it shows teachers you care and they will be willing to bump your grade up if you show ur trying. and when dealing with teachers who don’t like you it’s best to avoid interacting with them as much as possible and just do what youre told, but know when to stand up for yourself when appropriate, it’ll help you in the long run.
- please please please for the love of God DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT do things your “peers” are doing just to fit in. you WILL attract the wrong crowd and end up with fake friends. just please be yourself and if you are genuine you will attract a good group of ppl to surround urself with. and on the note of friends, don’t be fake, if you don’t wanna be friends with smb don’t smile in they face then go talk abt them behind their back, it’s not cute 🤦🏾♀️
- be involved! i only joined one sport and one club my entire middle school career and i regret it so much. it’s an easy way to make friends and gives you the skills you need if you want to do the sport in hs. i did basketball this year and it was so fun i wish i had done other sports b4. turf to go on every field trip you can, and take lots of photos to cherish your middle school years 😊
- don’t do drugs, this should be obvious, but don’t take drugs from nb even your friend, something as “simple” as a vape could be laced with ANYTHING and your friend might not even know that. it’s so easy to get addicted to things like weed and nicotine especially in this generation 🤷🏽♀️ and if you get caught with you are very likely to be sent to an alternative school or even expelled from the entire district (ik smb who ts happened to)
- and last but definitely NOT LEAST. don’t bully ppl, one of the other reasons my middle school was so freaking horrible was because of there mean girls who acted like my “friends” thought it was cool to make fun of me, leave me out, and just overall made me hate going to school everyday. it got so bad to the point where i was harming myself bc i couldn’t deal with ts no more. so please just be nice even when others don’t show you kindness you never know what someone’s going through. go sit with that girl who’s always alone, share your lunch with the girl who never has one, be partners with the girl who’s always left out. and if you think bullying is ok, search up aubreigh wyatt, and then ask yourself what type of person you are.

@@theyluvriri_ conversation starters could be, what’s your name, man i can’t believe we have ____ first period, i like your ____, what lunch do you have?, what class do you have after this?.
for studying i would recommend just reading your notes out loud, and trying to memorize things, you could also use quizlet. or khan academy. you could also use photomath and it’s basically where you take a pic of the math problem and it gives you the answer BUT it also shows you exactly how to solve it so you understand how to get the answer.
and i’m ngl i would reapply perfume like every passing period lol, but u don’t rlly need to i just like things that smell good! i would just recommend using a scented lotion like sdj or b&bw so you don’t have to keep putting on perfume!
I’m going into 6th grade in august and i already know about hygiene n stuff, it’s just gonna be my grades. I rarely get in trouble *3times* but I’m gonna try to stay out of trouble and drama, and just try to be nice but not to nice (pray for me🙏🏼)

@@Emmavlog1 I recommend emailing teachers and getting grammar if they give you a iPad or laptop, just email them and ask if you could get help on any of your future assignments, i might be worried about getting bad grades too but my school is gonna have free tutoring.

People who go to smaller schools don’t offer as much, they just offer what people know what they will join because it relies on more of the same people or pushes the school to have everyone involved. And we all know some people is not gonna do anything for that school. I’m speaking for my cousins because I went to big schools every time because I just lived in a populated area. And we couldn’t afford to build more schools like that so middle school for me had 900-1000. But I at least thought she would say basketball 💀

Period tips: yes if there's a lot of discharge you should start soon but ESPECIALLY if you're getting cramps but don't have your period wear a pad when you go to sleep (trust me) okay so I got my period on Christmas day 2023 so it's been a good while now and I usually get cramps the day before a start but this time I got them FIVE DAYS IN ADVANCE I'M LIKE GIRLY WHAT THE- IS GOING ON WITH MY BODY 😭

@@kabeeeeeee the first few are usually not the same time every month so asking your guardian or doctor might help as everyone is different but it should last 5-6 or 7 days :) I also recommend getting a period tracker like "PC" or any other you'd like. PC has stuff like meditation music, sleep music, period cramp poses to release some amounts of pain, how to check for breast cancer, and others like a calendar of course! I hope this helped but just make sure you're keeping up with hygiene especially on your period!
here are some tips as a previous 6th grader
- people, especially in middle school, are tryna be edgy and shi so someone is prob gonna say smt about you, because they are still figuring themselves out and whatever, so just ignore them, people in ms, especially nowadays, try to act cool and are pretty mean
-dating in middle school can be weird, like i personally wouldnt, but if you do, just don’t expect things to go very far, middle school relationships don’t last long.
- be ORGANIZED. like i used to forget things and just my locker and everything was a mess. it’s just really stressful and my teachers got annoyed because i would forgot so much
- get decent notebooks and writing materials. ur gonna use them A LOT so this is something i feel like u should get something nice, but i also lose a lot of things, so that just depends on how often u lose things and stuff.
- STOCK UPP on writing utensils. i literally had no pencils by the end of the year dude. i lose stuff a lot, so if u do too, just keep that in mind
-don’t stress. Although u should focus on ur studies, it doesn’t show up on ur college transcript. so use this time to prepare for high school when your grades matter.
i have way more but im too lazy to type, (also, i know i don’t know EVERYTHING, but here are some tips i wish i knew lol) okay thank youu,good luck with ms!

Just be mature, don’t be playing no games with your teachers because those are the same teachers who will advocate for you, when you want to join programs, or college etc. So build good relationships with your teachers. Behave yourself, act like you got some sense. Don’t focus on the drama, and don’t get involved. Focus on your academics. I’ve been called to the office several times, not because I was in drama but because I was just around because it was in my class. So I’ve had to put in multiple witness statements, miss class, etc. So be more cautious of the people you’re around, what they do, and your interactions with them.
if anyone’s watching this going into 6th grade, read this.
i just started 7th so i’m fresh out and here are some things you should know
(this mostly only applies to public school.)
DO NOT create drama or talk bad about others, it doesn’t help you or them in the situation. i’ve said so many stupid things that i wish i could be gone back and changed because it ruined my reputation so bad. so to anyone who tells you to be kind, LISTEN.
don’t bully others, it literally gets you no where. no matter if they’re a furry, LGBTQ, special needs, ETC. it’s so insanely stupid to billy others just for being their self. you are harming them and making them think that they have to put on a mask just to feel safe at school. remember these are real people and they have real lives just like you.
school is starting to get serious, so GET WORK DONE. not sure if it’s the same for others but my school puts out missing assignments on an app and if you have one GET IT DONE because school gets super stressful and you don’t need more on your plate then you already have,
kinda the same as the last one, but don’t be reckless. you are older now and starting to mature, don’t be stupid just cause you can. teachers are trying they’re hardest and unless they are rude or abusive, listen 👏 to 👏 them 👏.
if someone being rude to you, ignore them. you have more important things to deal with and i PROMISE you, feeding the fight or even getting physical is NOT the answer, tell a teacher.
don’t vape please. i know it sounds crazy that people start this young but THEY DO. it’s not cool to get lung cancer. my friends dad has lung cancer because of that and it’s terrifying. do not start now or else you won’t be able to stop. i’m begging you, care about your own health. this also means to be smart, don’t do stupid illegal things. you are smarter then that.
being the stereotypical popular is not fun, almost all of them are rude and selfish, surround yourself with the right people, and do the right thing, school matters, grades matter, life matters, don’t throw it away.
lastly, be yourself. don’t care what others think because you’re yourself and always will be. putting on a mask is draining and not a good idea at all. surround yourself with others that like you for who you are, it’s going to be okay and you got this. promise 💗💪🏼

5:05 ok NO. dont be a brat trying to get everyone to fail. in my 8th grd yr whenever somebody made a study guide they would send i to the WHOLE class. it was always seen as helpful and extremely kind of whoever sent it and a good way of others having good opinions of u

Ok, here's my opinion on tips
-"u don't need that much supplies", depending on how teachers teach, and what school u go to, u maybe do cause 9/10, teachers would give you a butload of papers with notes on it and since u don't have a glue stick or scissor, u have to copy allat down.
-"Don't be overdramatic over grades" yes Don't stress over it but grades r important, so make sure u put consideration onto that ESSPECALLY MY UPCOMEING 7TH GRADE! And yes a B isn't bad but dont Hate the person that is upset abt that cause 1. U don't know if they're parents will accept that/ abuse or 2. They have rlly high standards 4 themselves GRADES DO NOT DEFINE WHO U ARE BUT DO GOOD EFFORT
- BE KIND TO EVERYONE UNLESS THEY ARE UNKIND TO U, for 7th and 8th upcomeing, THEY WILL ABSOLUTELY HELP U WITH HIGH SCHOOL RECCOMENDATIONS which also leads me to haveing great relationships with teachers and ppl in school plus BE WHO U ARE AROUND THEM cause u don't wanna end up Ina place u don't wanna be

Random complaint nobody cares about but I feel like saying, our school shut down all the water fountains and only put up 4 water filling stations for the whole 1100 person school. I filed a complaint about it, even directly emailing the school board.
THEY WONT FIX THE WATER.
The only other water we have access to is 75 cent bottles at lunch 😒

am I in the wrong for dating my bsfs ex? Basically me n her had the same ex at the start of the year, we both agreed we were over him and had a deal to not get back w him, then one day, I went to school and they was kissing n hugging n shi, they dated for the next few weeks and let’s just say I got my fkin revenge, me n that ex got together 2 days after their breakup.
