I love my black currants (and the red, white and pink one, too 😊). In smaller gardens, where you can't have that many bushes, plant different cultivars (maybe try to grow one from seeds...) to boost the pollination! I also use the leaves (and those of raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, goosberries) as additions in "spinach-y" dishes, soups, stirfries, omletts...
Thank you so much for this wonderful video....I'm definitely going to search for currents now!! Would you be interested in doing a video on preparing for fall...food pantry, changes in your home that help prepare for the new season etc. That could be full of tips :)
All currants are basically similar regarding habitat and treatments. Pink currant is a little sweeter, more fruit-off-the-bush edible than black, as is alpine currant, though the fruit are quite tiny on the latter.
Hi! I was directed to your channel by a mutual friend. I am looking into building a cob home on a permaculture farm in SW Ontario. I would love to get in contact with you regarding the process.
Hey I hope you find a way to reach them and that you move toward your permaculture dream build in Ontario....Maybe in a few years, I will be watching your progress on youtube too :) God bless!
We can be contacted at ontariopermaculture@hotmail.com anytime! Please include something like cob building in the subject to get our attention. (Now being a UA-cam email, it gets a LOT of spam.)😅

Great suggestion! Thank you
Very cool! I'm wondering what to plant in my garden and this is a great start! Do red currants grow this well too? Are they more or less sour?

Is fermenting a way of food storage in your home?
Tattoos are for weirdos. Great video. The dog eats the berry bushes in my yard cuz he’s a hoodlum.
If tattoos are for weirdos, why you got so many, huh?!? Nice to hear from you Stew! 😅
