I like the Kendo Show very much. As a teaching tool, the videos help explain the concept coupled with visual examples. In my opinion, this makes it easier to understand the important features of the lesson.
Thank you! This clarified the nuki-do, kaeshi-do for me, even if I am an advanced kendoka, these were a little obscure because in Est Europe there is this almost taboo about scoring DO strikes, so nobody actually goes too deep into the mechanics and footwork.
I'm just starting Kendo like 6 months and all I have been doing is Kaeshi do and nuki do even without knowing what it was lol, btw why is taboo to score Do?

Are you using the camera's microphone when you're doing the demonstrations? Is it possible to obtain a label mic, is it even a feasible idea?? Besides that, great video. Thanks for all the uploads you do, muchly appreciated.
We usually use a lapel microphone, but we had tech issues on the day of filming and were not able to solve them on site. Next time we film we’ll make sure the audio is better!
So, you dont crouch when you hit the nuki do? Is actually wierd for me becuase in my dojo we do it a lot, but ofcourse there are diferents ways. Then now trust me, I will become the great's Swordsman in the World
I've never seen this with Ayumi ashi; even when it is considered Ippon. While it's totally reasonable, I've only ever seen it executed and taught with Fomikomi followed by Okuri ashi. Hopefully, local level Shinpan are watching!!

Yes, after hitting it’s OK, but you should put it back on the Shinai again as soon as you can afterwards
