The Mad Lads were the greatest!
Who remember the Mad Lads
Love this group since I was 7 years old in the 60s. I'm 66 now & play their songs to this day!❤❤
Can't beat the Mad Lads for harmony and choreography. Love the bass line on this song.
How I miss the days of these groups❤
the most underrated group in history, in my top three of all time groups and all these men can sing a verse
I AGREE 100%! THEY SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE RECOGNITION THEY DESERVED!👍🏻❤️
Awesome! Everything about that musical era was phenomenal. I miss the artist, music and creativity of all of it.
Peace Mad Lads .... " I WANT SOMEONE " Yes one of my main groups ... Yes those Mad Lads ...❤
I hope this is for real the comment from John Williams. I was a pre teen but i knew good music when i heard it! I loved the Mad Lads and still do.
Definitely a blue light in the basement song!
I’m now 67 and started listening to WWRL 1600 when I was freshman at Eastside High in Paterson NJ. A fine Rican sister turned me on to your music and lord yes it happened. We cut school and play mommy n daddy in her attic apartment. Brings back many memories. But I’m disappointed that you were not publicized like the Motown acts. You are one of the top two in my playlist
John Gary Williams RIP 2019!
sadie Williams ,Mr John Gary Williams had a very unique Voice that stood out like no Other ,to this date you really can compare him to anyone nor can anyone sound like him ,just one of the few rare artists , I also grew up on his music 🎶 good times too ,will be missed 👍🏻
Awesome. The HY-LIT show really showed great performances. One could really enjoy the choreography of the groups shown on this program. Not just close ups of the lead singers all the time.
thank you so much for posting my father's work!
Wil IV-
+William Brown Thankyou...you must be so proud of your dad...these are an amazing group.
This week of Febuary 2020 is the first time in my life I have heard of this group and I am in my 60's . How could such a magnificent group could be left in the dark un heard of. For sure God did not for get them and this is why we can see them today
My favorite song from my childhood is "SO NICE" -- such a beautiful song of young love when black guys actually treasured

The Mad Lads was mad nice especially when they came to the Apollo Theatre and sung I want a girl and What will love tend to make you do😉 Broads was throwing underwear’s everything up on stage🎙️ The Mad Lads was just smooth brothers from the bottom (Memphis)👇🏼 I read Junior passed away maybe a few years ago(John Williams) and i got that info on here The Mad Lads could’ve been really big but i believe Junior and maybe another group member got drafted in the Army during the Viet Nam era I know Junior like Archie Bell ended up in Germany🇩🇪 I don’t know what happened to Junior after that However the Temprees outta Memphis picked up where the Mad Lads left off at… one ☝🏼

I was a big fan in the 60 & 70s. I remember one day I heard a song called Think Back by the Mandells, and swore up & down it was the Tennessee Mad Lads. Half the kids in my neighborhood made sure to tell me just how wrong I was. Sheeesh good old days.

I was 18 in 1968. The Mad Lads had a hit (a really nice ballad) that had been released about a year, maybe two years prior to that time. It got a lot of airplay in NC where I lived but I can't remember the title. Any ideas anyone???
Omg. Hy lit show from philly.

Thank you for all the great music. I cut my teeth on your songs growing up. The vamp on "Shop Around" was one of the most beautiful I ever heard, and I've always wished it faded much longer. All the best...
