Why are people relying on dlc for content like new guns and maps when they should of put that in there since the get-go and why didn't they add prequel content
Coming from someone who despises shotguns in every shooter game ever, I'm actually not too upset whenever I get killed by the Ca -87. The rate of fire isn't as ridiculous as some of the shotguns in BF4, plus the overheating mechanic means they can't rapid fire 10+ bursts at a time. Kudos to DICE for implementing this. :)
I think that when the gun is coupled with items like flashbangs and jetpacks, the range is very reasonable. The bottom line is that it's very difficult to balance shotguns anyway. No one likes getting killed with them, but on the other hand, shotguns users hate firing 2-3 bursts per kill.

Henbot In real life, yes, shotguns are extremely effective up to around 40 meters. But then again, distances of engagement are MUCH longer too. Reality has to be sacrificed for balance.

I didn't want to say this but an even more powerful setup is running the shotgun with the "focus" star card. Essentially it makes the shotgun spread pretty much 0. Sounds OP, huh? Yeah, It's pretty OP.
+monish1478 spread is good in a shotgun. Doesn't focus makes you rely more on aiming with it in cqc opposed to just shooting and letting one of your pellets do damage.
I've been using this weapon with explosive shot. It seems to double the range and it works for crowd control really well. Other than that, I always run upgraded smoke (you can maintain a smoke screen indefinitely) and jump pack.
I wish there were battlefield 3 sized maps, but large buildings instead of open spaces. Imagine being in the hangar in sollust and all of a sudden the hangar elevator opens up and theres basically a whole other map. Just think how cool siege of shanghai would have been if the tower was a standalone map with lots of floors.
I've used focus fire with this gun on tatooine, and it was surprisingly good, but you have to play a little campy in the beginning for long range engagements. With the focus card I found that it is basically a 1 shot from any range, sometimes 2 depending on where you hit the person you're shooting at.
you'll see that the Symthic charts specify the maximum range as 20 metres - this is because the projectiles disappear after 0.1 seconds (and the velocity is 200 m/s).
Its like playing the as the old Dark Trooper Phase 2 class from the original battlefront games! Jump pack plus shotgun? Yes please! Was such a cool class in the original battlefronts.
It makes sense that it drops off to 0 Damage because after a blaster round looses enough speed its uneffective you gotta remember they do have some light armor
+LevelCapGaming On larger maps, you could use the Personal Shield to close the gap at first and then use a second hand to get your Scan Pulse back when things get personal.
About the extremely close blast game at 4:39, who won??? It seemed to be SUPER close, with either imperial trailing behind rebel, or rebel trailing behind imperial, but anyways who won that blast game? Rebels or imperials?
I use homing missile, scout, exploding shot, and jump pack. Be aggressive, jump at them and demolish groups of people with the exploding shot. If they're out of range, get under cover, equip it, then shoot them.
You haven't tried going jump pack, cycler rifle/pulse rifle and focus fire. The focus fire actually makes the thing like a targeting rifle except you have to get used to aiming at people far away with a huge crosshair.
I think they need to make it so that you can't buy charges, because one of the reasons those cards are so powerful is that people can just buy 50 charges for them anytime they want and that's just OP.
Shotty, Impact Grenade with Barrage, shield or jump pack with the wall hack on Dropzone is brutal. Great loadout was pooping on kids with that last night
fun fact: if you use the CA-87 and use the explosive shot, if you shoot an enemy standing directly in front of you, you will both die from the explosion. trust me I know. -_-
Dear Levelcap. Take a round or two to use "Focus Fire" starcard with the CA-87. It turns your CA into a deadly, Oneshot skillcannon over a medium distance upwards of 40m engagements. Try it out for me and report on it! I've been having a fun few engagements where I've entered Brawl and won the engagement against 1 or 2 people, and their friends turn around from across the hall or down the corridor, and switching on focus fire enables me to use the CA reliably at medium range in the same one-shot manner as the in your face blast..
+LevelCapGaming Right on sir, but there are some star cards that are great too for a perfect close-range loadout. There also explosive shots which makes this weapon a complete raging beast. Smoke grenades are great for flanking too. Bowcaster does insane dmg on close range. Scout rifle is great too for close-range combat too. Anyways, the scout perk is perfect for this weapon as what you said in the video, great job.
I would replace flash bang with thermal detonator or impact grenade in case you need a bit more range, personal should is also good but scan pulse still works
i love this loadout! while scan pulse is great in combo with the ca87, you should also try it with FOCUS FIRE. you'd think focus fire would be useless with a shotgun, but it turns it into a sniper. while focus fire is active it no longer fires in a cone but groups all the shots into one 'bullet' and you can 2 shot people across the map. im sure i've pissed a LOT of people off when i kill them with this gun from 200m away.
Most people call this thing CA-87, I like to call it toy gun-87 since when it even gets to 20 meters, it's like a toy gun with built in sounds. Tip: play on Death Star.
I really want to see the map felucia come back from the clone wars era. If they bring back clone wars in a DLC then that planet needs to come back with it. One of my favorite maps in battlefront 2
Lvlcap I saw in your game that you don't ever change the shoulder view. You know, in TPS mode, you can have the camera over your right OR left shoulder. When you have it on the right shoulder, you'll be at an advantage when you peak from the left to the right, but at a disadvantage when you peak a corner from the right to the left. For these situations you should change the shoulder cam. Not always, because sometimes you don't have time/it isn't worth it, but when you're in a tight spot, or when you have the time and know people are on the other side you should think of it.
To get max rank in a trait you need to get a killstreak of 6, and if you do and die you can just get 3 kills to get it back... unless you die again beforehand in which case you will have to get 6 again.
Whoever balanced this game needs a slap. Homing anti infantry rockets, unlimited grenades, built in wall hacks. A sniper rifle being the only gun with bullet drop, at a ridiculous amount too and also the slowest muzzle velocity in the game, like seriously DICE how stupid can you be?
***** Balance isn't just about what's overpowered though, plus maybe i should have said game mechanics instead but it just seems ridiculous. I can't even bring myself to play the game again.
If you want to see a real one of these built and firing check out the proto-ordinance channel. It's basically a cut down enfeild with grenade cup on the end.

Nice video. Small correction to what yousaid: You need to kill 3 people to get to level 2 of your trait and another 3 more people killed to get to the 3rd level. People killed with turrets or vehicules don't count. Keep posting nice videos ;)

I take the CA-87 into Hero Hunt with the charge up sniper, jet pack, and the star card that nullifies overheat and rush the hero. You drop him if 4-5 shots if you aim for his head.heh heh heh
When I play hero battle I'll put explosive shot in for my star card for when I choose the shock blaster. I always end up one shotting the royal guards before they can go all jihad with the smart rocket.

E11 with Explosive Shot is pretty much what I use 95% of the time. Gave up on the shock blaster cuz I can't stand how it gives no damage after a certaim range which seems like about 30 meters or so haven't tried it with focus fire yet though
Level Cap, if you think Scan Pulse is the best charged card for the Jawa Gat, you aren't using it right. Use Focus Fire instead and easily double and almost triple your range and effectiveness. Used in Tandem with Bounty Hunter in the hands of a pro you will own so much face. Try it out and let me know what you think.

i just can't get over how the model for this "shotgun" is an extremely cut down lee-enfield bolt action rifle with a suppressor

My loadout for the CA-87 is focus fire, ion cannon, scout trait, and a flash grenade/cycler rifle depending on the map

You should try swapping out flash grenade for the smoke. It is really effective for push objectives on supremacy, or close the gap on your enemies.

You should bind a easy to reach key to change the shoulder view when running around corners etc.

I found with any set up it depends on your connection because I find with the ca87 it takes a couple of shots even close up.

I find it more useful to use the jumpack with the ca-87 so that I can get in close and if i need to jump pack away when in danger

Thanks to BattlefrontUpdates I learned that Ca 87 actually has range drop off it doesn't spread.

I've had a glitch for 3 days where I have unlimited charges for explosive shot and scan pulse, it's great.
Now the lvl 1 for scout trait is firing your primary blaster and lvl 2 is sprinting does not show on enemy scanners.
DO A SQUAD UP WITH NO HUD. TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME AND I FEEL ITS THE BEST STAR WARS CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE. YES I HAD TO ALL CAPS THIS LOL.
