I have a Wang's VT-5 Tube amp. I don't know when it was made or if it was made for the US market. I took off the back panel to change one of the tubes and the fuse. When I did that I noticed on the side of the on /o 6:58 off switch is written 5 amp 250 volts. I'm confused because it has a three prong power cord connection for regular American wall outlets. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments, I don't want to damage the amp by plugging it into the wrong power source.

I did use all this "downtime" to design a ton of new circuits, so when I get going again I'll have a ton of new stuff. I knew working these 70-80 hour weeks wouldn't give me time to fill orders fast enough, but I'm dying to ramp up again. I'll definitely hit you up!
@@wangsamps thanks, bro! If you saw under the board, you'd really flip out over how I mount all the dual gang concentric pots to the board. They are all soldered to a daughter board then the daughter board is connected to the main with ribbon cables (or it might be individual wires, I did that for the first few) If you try, just be warned it's a pain to line it all back up again lol the one you have was an earlier version and I was using the much more shallow 1590bb enclosures. I love their smaller size, but I now use a 1590bbs which is about twice as deep.
question: I was wondering about attenuation pedals. Not all amps have a way to play at bedroom levels so wondering if the pedals, EHX make a pedal and JHS have a black box, but do they work well as part of a chain? Would Master volume be a better option? I think with the living arrangements of people this could be a good show or couple shows to address this.
Since i was a kid i loved playing with my Wang, i'd play with my Wang in the morning, noon and night...I even played my Wang in front of my parents! Heck i got caught playing with my Wang at school because i was a bit loud with it! So folks, never be afraid to play with your Wang, even in front of people, because they will one day, pay you good money to see you playing with your Wang! 😉😁

The biggest question about amps is: How is it grounded? Is it soldered directly to the chassis, is it clipped on or is it screwed down? If the ground isn’t soldered to the chassis it will need work.

I have three Bugera amps: A V22 Combo, a V55 head, and a 6262. There is not a thing wrong with these amps. I think they finally got the bugs worked out. Mine are great.
The folks at Biyang/Wangs are very gracious, honest, generous and Humble. I’ve worked for them since 2012 and have never once had a negative experience. Even when something goes wrong they show Ernest concern and remedy any issues quickly. They are my good friends and family.
I have 3 Wangs. My wife is very happy about this. 😂 The Mini 5, OD-30 and 2024. By far best amps in their price range. The 2024 replaced my chinese built. Marshall. Unless the tube manufacturers all go under, I don't see myself replacimg these amps anytime soon.
@@wangsamps yeah, fall of 2022. I met a great lady after my ex and I split and after 3 years of her helping me through divorce hell, I got married again. The fact she stuck around with all the BS my ex was putting me through, she's a keeper. 😂

Are your fans still as adamant about keeping Wangs amps unknown to North America? 😂 I'm not there much, but now that divorce is over I'm gradually going back in limited amounts. Now that home renovation are done on the main floor I'm beginning to reclaim my music room.
Premier guitar magazine did a review of these amps years ago but here in LA no body has them and i don't buy gear without getting my hands on it my only issue would be the tranformers china makes crappy transformers but these amps look pretty good !
Vintage Guitar Magazine also did a great full page review. Transformers are hand wound in house. Only transformer issues were in Mini5 because some housings were touching outer-weave but issue was resolved. Unfortunately Mini5 is temporarily discontinued due to component supply chain problems with EU.

The biggest question about amps is: How is it grounded?
Is it soldered directly to the chassis, is it clipped on or is it screwed down?
If the ground isn’t soldered to the chassis it will need work.
There is a metal plate that covers the entire chassis and is grounded by the four screws holding the chassis to the enclosure

I have a Wangs VT-1H, it is excellent and I hope to get a 1987hw in the future. Easily the most bang for your buck with these amps.
