Thank you for the video. Since the motors on these seem to go bad repeatedly, I would be happy to just have it light up and not have the motor turning at all. I realize that defeats the purpose of the dancers, but nonetheless.... is that a possibility?

Yes, just disconnect the pigtail plug wires that go to the motor.
