Denver has the biggest dead cap in NFL history. There are going to be obvious holes in this team. Until they can get rid of that deadcap and draft some skill players and build on their depth, this is what the team will look like. You wanna blame someone? Blame Joe Ellis and George Paton for setting this franchise back a whole decade. Not the kid that was just drafted and went out there and did all he could.

The lack of patience is the most annoying to me. Rich hit it on the head, our receivers got next to no YAC, immediately tackled every time. That's just good defense. And probably good of Payton to not call too many plays down the field in the kid's first game, in one of the 2 loudest stadiums in the league. Get the kid warmed up and acclimated to an NFL defense, limit possible mistakes. It's a long season. Can build his confidence even in a loss. We want this kid for another 15-20 years.

As a Broncos fan there's 0 panic. He might've drawn the hardest environment to play your first regular season start and he simply wasn't quite up to task on a bottom 10 roster. Loudest stadium, talented roster, and maybe the most creative defensive coach in football. Bo will be fine and I think he will still have a few trademark rookie games this season. Make no mistake there is a reason why Sean Payton opted for the youth movement with the Broncos this offseason. Obviously the financial constraints made it difficult but he has to see and evaluate all the young talent before they really get deep into building a roster to support Bo in the years to come. Drafting Bo wasn't about winning the Super Bowl this year, it was setting this team up for success for the next 10 years. Not bothered by it all.

Broncos fans have gotten really jaded over the years. There are two camps in Denver. Camp one loves Bo and are genuinely looking forward to seeing him grow on this very young team. Camp 2 has had to shut up the last 4 weeks with his excellent performance in preseason and hates it that Denver didn't waste more capital on trying to force their way up for their pick or stick with aging Wilson. Camp 2 took the opportunity post loss to beat their chests and declare him a failure after one close loss. He looks good and this team did him no favors this last weekend with all the drops and the missed opportunities despite a ridiculous 44 pass attempts. He also threw some bone headed rookie passes. He also got beat up. Against one of the premier defenses in the league, he still almost pulled a rabbit out of his hat. Since Bo is losing ball games and can't read defenses he needs to ride the bench! You put the QB in that has the best chance of winning, you know winning not losing!!! Let the Rookie watch film, get more coaching, run the practice squad, pay his dues. I would rather see Stidham or Zach out there, at least they have experience and have actually won NFL games. Bo may have fooled the coaches but he isn't fooling any of the defensive backs when he can't throw further than 5 yards (average 3.3 yards per pass) and threw two picks.

It wasn't good football, but it wasn't sloppy riddled with penalties and clock issues. I’m a lifelong Broncos fan. I can say without a doubt that over the last decade our fanbase has become toxic in a way that I thought was impossible for a group who had been class acts my entire life. Turns out mediocrity breeds impatience. I can’t believe how much I’ve read people talk about already benching Bo or firing Sean. It’s insane. Like all logical thought about the career progression and learning curve for rookie QBs has just gone completely out the window. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that blowing everything up and firing everybody doesn’t even get the franchise in a better position. In fact it sets it back even more.
You have a proven winner at HC who just needs time to turn the ship around and put his own stamp on the franchise but instead you want to blow everything up and hire god knows who and face all the unknowns that come with that? Also, in the NFL the winning organizations are the ones with consistency. How can you be competitive if your roster is having to learn a new scheme from a new coach or coordinator every year when the teams at the top are honing their craft and perfecting every minute detail of their own scheme? It’s illogical, enraging, and embarrassing to read this nonsense by these “fans.” But I at least can understand from a human perspective why they are speaking so foolishly and recklessly. It probably comes from a place of passion and being sick of being mediocre but in order to stop this mediocrity there has to be consistency and the willingness to not fire everybody in the building at the first sign of trouble. Like Peyton Manning says, teams are way too quick to bench rookie QBs these days and he would’ve never turned out to be who he was if he wasn’t given opportunities every week to improve despite breaking the interception record and going 3-13.

40+ year Broncos fan here.... two problems with the majority of the fan base- 1. They smoke too many left-handed stogies, if you catch my drift. 2. They still cling to the glory days of Elway and Manning. Hell, many were ready to anoint Tim Tebow as the chosen one (reference point #1- that probably had a lot to do with it). However, to point #2- the last almost decade has been rough on us, to say the least. To be at least in contention, if not playing for a championship pretty regularly for 30 years, only to go on an 8 year skid without even so much as sniffing a playoff game, losing Pat Bowlen, then the ownership drama- along with the team making some bad choices, drafting poorly, hiring coaches that weren't up to task.... I think that Broncos fans would be more patient, and less critical, had Sean Payton been hired in, say 2017 or 2018. But after eight years of personnel miscues, drama, and overall failure, plus the Chiefs rising to utter dominance (I just gagged a little bit as I typed that), Broncos fans are desperate for their team to return to their winning ways, and overly critical of *anything* (coach, GM, or player) that could possibly delay that. I've said it before, and I'll say it again- what Elway (and later Manning) accomplished in Denver was epic- but it also made it really, really difficult to be a starting QB for the Broncos, especially if you don't immediately start lighting the field on fire right from the jump. People don't remember when Elway was just some goofy rookie who scrambled around all crazy and threw picks (a lot of picks). They never saw Manning in a Broncos uniform when he threw more INTs than TDs. So Broncos fans just need to learn to be patient again. It took Elway a while. Hell, it even took Manning a little bit once he got there. If Bo Nix is allowed to mature in Sean Peyton's system, he will become a very good QB. Be patient, Broncos Country.

Don't understand a lot of these fans.. it really is pathetic. After all Bo went through in the first 3 quarters, he led a nice drive down the field and ran it in himself, (in a very smart and savy way I might add.. that fake!) No, I agree with Rich.. some would say the toughest place to play away, against an unknown, but now known great defence.. no run game, dropped passes and penalties at the wrong time. He's fine. As a Broncos fan for almost 30 years, the word for DEN fandom is toxic: toxic and obnoxious, those are two words. That is why I stepped aside from the fan club I myself created here in CR, and better speak with a 0.01% of truly focused fans and eager to learn, not those fairweather bandwagoners who appeared after SB50 or after and don't understand how football works (it is football, not fútbol soccer as many LATAM fans want to compare it with). I Bolieve and I believe in Payton. Football is a marathon, not a 100 mt sprint race.Patience and time,I look at the Lions for example,or the Texans after a dead cap chaos and so other examples. In the same vein as other broncos fans, there is a LOT to like about what he DID as well as DIDN'T DO. Seattle is LOUD, It's his first game etc and he took it in stride. Once the game was more on the line at the end, he took ownership and did his best to get within a possession. Some of us Bronco "FANS" have become so impatient and arrogant. Do they want either Wilson or Stidham out there? I doubt it. His teammates are backing him time and time again. The best thing about it that they're ready t run through a wall for Bo. Their opinions are the ONLY ones that matter.

It's unbecoming to share the passion for orange and blue with some of these guys honestly. I get we're tired of losing, but this rookie had a better start than the last two HOFers we had in their 1st games by a long shot. It's asinine to say Bo isn't great or not it after one game. When he's clicking with a system he knows and builds that confidence the same way he did in Oregon, the dude is going to look so dynamic. That stuff does take time. Bo will be so much better by the end of the season. He just had a very tough assignment his very 1st game. And more are up ahead. If Denver can get to the Raiders with a 2-2 record, that's pretty good all things considering. But everyone expects excellence straight out the gate. Bo's fundamentals are leagues above what you'd expect from a rookie. It will get better over time.

I've been pounding the table for Bo since before the draft. Looked great in camp and the pre-season. One thing i know for a fact is that there isnt a bigger critic of the way he played his first game than Bo Nix, himself! Bo is a student of the game and he will correct those things he did wrong, he will settle down and he will be a star in this league! Even if it takes him the whole year to get a grasp on the NFL, im riding with Bo Nix all the way! He wasn't helped by plenty of dropped passes, poor pass protection and an aggressive defense, or the fact that the run game was abandoned early on. I have hope in Bo and i have faith in Sean Payton to correct the growing pains in time. LETS GO BO!
