Can You Spot a $400,000 vs Fake Richard Mille?!

- We DON'T sell fake watches, but come across them on a regular basis...so when someone brought a fake Richard Mille RM 055 Bubba Watson to our store, we decided to put the $300 replica next to the real $400,000 version and compare them. Can you spot the fake as well?
Charlie actually took the lead on this project, since he's a big RM fan. He also didn't waste the opportunity to get aunts Sandra and Betty in on the action!
Before Charlie explains some of the differences between the fake and real Richard Mille watches, he decides to seek the opinions of his aunts. Both Betty and Sandra can successfully spot the fake because the reality is that it's not a super clone or one-of-one replica by any means. Some of the differences are glaring.
Shortly after the making of this video, one of our clients came in and purchased the real Bubba Watson, so our timing was perfect.

To be honest, I was not a watch fan at first when I stumbled on to your channel. But I got instantly addicted to the videos. Your channel is not just about watches, It shows so much more. The key words is family, loyalty and respect. You guys also inspired me to buy my first watch, and I'm now working towards my own rolex submariner. Thank you guys for making my day a little bit better and I wish you all the success in life!
Thank you for sharing that man. It means a lot to our family. You are right. Our channel is about our family and transparency. Life is too short to make it any other way. Thank you for your support.
So if I buy a real rm and try to sell it back to you guys, you guys instantly will try to buy it for 50 percent of what it was worth. It's a really really bad investment. Maybe that's why people would rather buy a fake watch then to rock a 200k watch that loses value soon as you put it on. Waste.
You should check out Watch trading academy on UA-cam
No, 50% of what you paid for it? Where did you get that from?
can you send me the fake one i live in jamaica
If I had a billion dollars. I'd still buy the fake. Saving money is the flex.
I'd get 7 of em who tf gonna know if I'm rich
That would not be flexing, more like being stupid or lowering your reputation, showing up with a highly valuable quality piece is flexing.
Nobody would even know
Saving money you’d lose 7-20% per year with inflation alone, so really shows what you know. Although I don’t find RM watches appealing at all I do know that they keep and even raise in value.
A Richard Mille is impossible to accurately copy... but let's be honest... a lot of the authentic RMs do look like cheap plastic.
It's like one of those love and hate things. Not everyone like the look of Richard Mille watches. 🤷
@@Crmjewelers Of course but... what you are talking about is a matter of taste. I was talking about the objective impression a watch makes when it has gum ball colors, weighs nothing and has a literal rubber band instead of a strap. To each their own of course. RM does have some stunning pieces but many of them simply look like something you would find inside of Barbie's van. 🤣
I know man. I agree with you for the most part, but like you say, to each their own. A lot of this stuff is based on taste.
I've never saw a fake RM before but the real ones doesn't look like plastic. They look amazing and crazy to not be precious metal watches.
@@robertgdunnjr206 Like I stated before... RM cannot be imitated and they do have some stunning pieces but... you can't tell me that an actual and LITERAL rubber band screams luxury... if it does then I'd like to propose a deal to you... I have an entire bag filled with rubber bands which I'm willing to let go to a worthy home. I would be willing to trade the entire pack of 10 for a luxury home or sell each of them for 150 grand... you won't find a better deal brother.

When a famous Hollywood actor wears a fake watch like Richard Mille or Rolex people still think it is the original. But if someone like me wears it, it will definitely be considered a fake. But i rather buy any kind of watch at a moderate price as long as it is still original than buying the fake ones.
Great vid! We need more than one video per week!! Good job guys! 👏
That's Rob. That's the plan!
The Rolex Day Date Charlie has on is what caught my eye. With a Rolex watch like that, who needs a real or fake Richard Mille lol.
Lol, true, but even without a Rolex, I think that someone is better off getting a reliable $300 Casio instead of a fake RM. 🤪
@@Crmjewelers lol very true and that’s why I may get a white CasiOak to match my white Miami Vice blazer😎
Ha Ha, you're too much Nick.
great content as always! you guys are awesome! I watch your videos and get positive energy!
Thank you man. I really appreciate all the support.
I have a friend who has both an original and a fake RM watch (and couple of other brands). When he's by himself, he usually wears the fake one. But when he's meeting someone, he usually wears the original one. He drives his Ferrari no matter which watch he's wearing
Excellent, new CRM video while I’m researching new rings and making some deals with customers.
Thanks man. A little something extra before our CRM episode tomorrow.
Where can i buy the replica ?
Fake one looks better that's the sad part 😂😂😂😂😂
LOL, funny.
They've gotten better. Still crappy movements, but I saw one with the same case size, screws, and actual forged carbon. Luckily, still noticeable up close, but from a normal distance it was pretty convincing.
They’ve gotten so much better than a year ago.
Love the content 🔥
Thank you very much Adrian.
Thanks for the clear review 👌🏼
Given the fact that literally ALL RM watches look like they are toys that come for 25 cents from a chewing gum dispenser, I really couldn't care less. RM and Hublot are two brands that I would never spend a dime on. Does anyone really think that 20 years from now anyone will remember any of their models as "iconic"? Yeah. Neither do I.
They are prole watches for influencers and gangster rappers, no matter how elaborate the movement. It's a passing trend that won't survive. It is like wearing an Ed Hardy shirt on the wrist. I wouldn't want to be seen with either. Class can't be bought, no matter how much you are willing to pay.
Finally someone here with an iQ>100 lol. Here here.
Don’t hold back will you mate, tell it as it is 😅
What's wrong with buying a $400 fake Richard Mille?
Luxury watches are bought for aesthetics and the "Look at me!"" factor. If someone can save your average American's yearly salary buying a quality replica then that seems like a logical decision.
But then the same thing would apply to anything of luxury, art, etc. I think that the more important and useful life lesson is not to pretend you're something you're not IMHO. 🤷
@@Crmjewelers If you spent an ungodly amount of money on a Richard Mille, it just says you are pretending to have class.
I'll take the fake one and invest the $400,000.
You're better off buying a nice Casio and investing the $400,000. 🤷
@@Crmjewelers That's a thought 🤔.
Or just not wear one😊
@reensheet480 In that case I may as well not wear my glasses or my shoes.

The fake is awful but the price of the real deal is way more ridiculous 😂😂
CRM family brilliant👍..Charlie well explained..
Thank you so much Saeed. Get ready for CRM Life tomorrow.
The replicas being so identical to the average person is a testament to the disgusting overpriced market for "Luxury" items. It's actually ridiculous that a damn name makes an item be apparently worth stupid amounts more than it cost to make.
I agree, I'm a huge fan of watches but the prices on them nowadays are absurd. The expensive watches take time to liquidate too, I just don't think the money is worth it.

Great vidio please do this whith more makes also a bit more history about the brands also prices and what it cost at the beginning and now thank you.
Thank you for the suggestions Antonio.
I'll keep it 100% honest I don't see a half million dollar watch . No watch that costs anywhere close to that amount of money should ever have plastic/rubber anywhere . That should be a golden watch.
Well done, guys. I would love to see more people buy a real RM. 🙂
Sooo you give me the money to buy a real ooor…??
You forgot to include the "hammer scene" at the end; the part where the fake is crushed to tiny pieces with a hammer.
Looks like if the replica makers created a brand of themselves they can also make fairly good ones….. why bother creating replicas
No idea, maybe because people will never stop trying to look like something they're not. It's a crazy world man. 🤷
While manufacturing a watch is difficult…creating a watch brand, putting it on the map, and ultimately making it a household name is a much harder feat. So it is much easier to ride the hype train & marketing power of a known brand (by selling replicas of their watches) than to develop a new watch company
Popularity, demand, affordability. The cosmetic industry is a billion dollar industry. Why? Because people like to look good and feel good. Same reason why people rock fake chains, fake shoes and fake earrings. There’s a market for it. Not your avg joe got $230k in liquid assets sitting in their account to spend on a watch.
What’s up with the meaningless beat in the background ? Why ?
Well, both look like they came out of a gumball machine.

Glad I’ll know how to spot a fake RM, you never know am I right?
Well, this fake RM was not a great fake, but still some people might fall for it.
good work mi bro
Fake or Real for Richard Mille, it is not dependent on watch, but people.
Umm, no. It is dependent on the watch, just like there's a real and fake Mona Lisa. 🤷
@@Crmjewelers It's dependant on the person. 99.99% of people are going to assume an ultra wealthy individual is wearing the real thing. Under 0.01% will be able to tell the difference at a glance.
I don't think it's about whether other people will know or not, but more about what you yourself know.
For me pride of ownership is a big reason to invest in a luxury watch as well as wealth preservation. You don't get that with a fake.
#TRUTH
Buen vídeo!!!!! Un saludo desde España
Muchas gracias Juanky. Un abrazo desde Miami!
dude went out there and got the cheapest fake rm possible, i live in china and seen some rm replicas that would make your head spin, identical to the real one, rn, ap rolex you name it
Wear fake watches. You will save a lot of money that you can spend for other things in life.
Replicas are getting so good that no one is going to notice what you are pointing out when it is on someone's wrist. And honestly, who cares.
People who buy authentic things care 🤷

Richard mille only releases 3000 watches per year but there is hundreds of thousands celebs buying Richard milles every month🤣😅
Why tf would you waste money on a 200k watch when you could get a replica for 1/10th the price.
First, giving your money to the people who develop/push the boundary of watchmaking and quality, second, maybe the poor quality is not obvious to you from a video? if you had both in your hands the difference in quality would be obvious. The real watch will keep it's value, it can even bee seen as an investment, certainly not wasted money. They are worth 200k because they are the best at what they do and the craftmanship is there to show it.
To be honest for a 100$ watch vs a 400k watch they both tell the same time!
It's a high quality, complicated, beautiful art piece, you don't understand RM.
What’s the difference between this and the RM 38?
Where can I get the replica?
Sad news, most of the world couldn’t tell the difference because only a small percentage of celebrities, athletes and billionaires could afford those watches.
Guys don’t buy a $1,500 replica you need to buy a $400k real one. 😂😂🙄
That logic kind of applies to the Mona Lisa as well 😂

I own a much better replica than that. The funny thing is I own multiple exotics, do you think anyone would question if my RM or APs are fake? Nope. Difference is if I damage mine or it gets stolen, who cares. Still seems like the same quality to me, and no one has ever said anything to me or even questioned it.

What was the goal of the video? To disincentivize people from buy a fake RM? You almost convinced me to do the opposite. Apart from the movement, which is very different, a non specialist (98% of people at least) can’t say the difference between the two models.
It's neither or of those things. The video is just to educate people so that they don't get scammed with fake watches...and this one was not really a very good fake.
I'd have the fake and the 400k thanks
real RM wearer i be like: ha what a loser spending so much money on a watch that looks like it comes from a claw machine
fake Rm wearer i be like: ha still ugly but he is smart enough to save his money on a watch that looks like it comes from a claw machine
Thanks for the information, what is the name of the track ..🥂
Still not sure which one is supposed to be thicker or thinner😅
Not bad for a $300 fake tho. Imagine if they would make a 3k rep then things would start to get hard to tell apart. Kinda like what happens with most Panerai watches. But even if you can make a perfect replica... You would legit have to be a millionaire to wear one so what's the point...
Yeah, fakes are dumb in my opinion. It's like buying fake art. Just why?
@@Crmjewelers 1) Value proposition-to-price ratio; 2) Less loss of money compared to the purchasing and subsequent value retention of a RM in the event where you realize you don't vibe with it; 3) Testing out the waters to see if the design's something you vibe with; 4) To wear in more shady areas over the genuine Richard Mille.
I hear you Phillip, but most people who rock fake versions of luxury items is not to test the waters or see how they vibe with it. The great majority are buying fake goods because they want to live above their means and want others to think of them in a way that they're not. 🤷
@@Crmjewelers I'm not sure if you will see this. But the real danger is people conflating ego through buying the replica pieces. I cant afford (nor desire) a RM, but I currently own a few watch brands. I have a Rolex, Panerai, Cartier, Tiffany, and Tudor.
What felt most insulting to me is when a buddy of mine got a fake Panerai 111 that's LITERALLY a 1:1 replica. The only difference is that he was willing to tell me that it was a rep. When we were out with other friends, he was boasting about his new "purchase." I don't really care about the lie itself, more of the fact that purchasing the exact replica as a quick fix is hurtful to the brands. But its not that simple.
If a small scale factory in chine can re-create the watch down the the near exact detail for a very small fraction of the price, then the original watch is overpriced, period. It is this truth alone that makes it tempting for me spend the fraction on the fake (kind of pointless since I own the Gen lol) then continue padding my retirement account. I don't need to prove to anyone my wealth and status through a hunk of materials on my wrist. My life and resume speak for that.
With that said, I see a shred of justification for the existence of replica watches, especially if that specific piece is intentionally limited to balloon price. However, the main demographic who buys replicas is honestly, cancerous. Just my 2c CRM!
@@Crmjewelers because most of us can't afford a 500k watch tf you trying to think bruv
To b 100% honest they both look good so with that being said if i had the money to buy the watch amd ppl knew i have money i would buy and wear the fake one lol bcuz ppl would think its real anyway lol…. Unless i wanted it for investing then id definitely buy the real one lol
Your money is going to grow with the watch when it’s real. That’s the point to hold and make your money grow, build a collection. Use credit to buy your next one off of the value of your first and level up.
@@yvngenterprise no, your money doesn't grow with the watch. It's a really really really bad investment. You buy a rm for 200k and when you want to sell it back to the watch dealer, he will give you 100k. 50 percent of what it was originally worth. No sir you are wrong. Bad investment indeed.
@@yvngenterprise if you need to buy an RM on credit then you cant really afford one..
@@luihed that is straight up ghetto mentality. If I had the money to buy straight up, I'd rather pay with credit card, and then pay the card off. That way your score goes up , rather than just blow money...and watch appreciates...its a tri-fecta 👍🏽

I’m not a fan of RM but I’m a big fan of CRM and totally agree with Charlie that an expensive watch is a symbol of accomplishment, and it’s more about personal gratification and pride of acquiring an exquisite timepiece than impressing others, so wearing a fake watch really defeats that purpose. A $400k RM is still an utterly overpriced watch to me, but I think a $300 fake is a bigger rip-off coz you can get a very reliable and presentable Seiko or Citizen instead that can still get compliments from people.
