A Walkthrough of the Withdrawn Comeng Trains at Tottenham Yard

- Since 2021, Melbourne's Comeng trains have began to be withdrawn from service. The first four 6-car sets were sent to North Shore in Geelong for storage. In September 2021, the first two 6-car sets were sent to Tottenham Yard for storage. Since then, Tottenham Yard has been the main area for the Comeng trains to be stored at before they are transferred to be scrapped.
A majority of the withdrawn Comeng trains at Tottenham are the "Stage 1" Comeng trains. These trains only received the bright yellow front and LED marker lights with the interior remaining the same and the gangways left open. However, there are a few "Stage 2" Comeng trains currently sitting at Tottenham Yard.
Here we walkthrough "Stage 1" EDI Comeng set 336M-1069T-437M and "Stage 1" Alstom Comeng set 322M-1011T-425M and feel what it is like to be inside a withdrawn Comeng train before it meets its fate. Near the end of the video are a series of photos of what the rest of the retired Comeng trains look like in storage at Tottenham.
Filmed in September 2022
Not sure how u got in but great video! 9:30 M>Train lol
Sorry for the late reply. I saw a hole in the fence and there was no security or anyone around so I thought "Screw it" and went in. The scene at Tottenham Yard with all the Comeng trains won't be there for long so I had to document it before it no longer exists.
4:51 How on earth did you manage to get a clip of a 6 car comeng at Jolimont in 2021??? nice work
It's a funny story actually, I got on a Mernda train at Parliament but someone was eating something that smelt bad so I decided to get off at the next station which was Jolimont and wait for the next train. While waiting, I heard the tracks vibrating, I looked up and noticed a Comeng so in a rush I got my camera out in time and filmed it passing by.
For all I know, it may have come from Epping Workshops after receiving some maintenance.
@@comeng504mfilms that's pretty cool. I know they run to epping, just never seen video of it before. Living on the hillside network it's cool to see rare video like that :)
@@MetroManMelbourne Who knows when a Comeng will visit the X'Trapolis dominated Clifton Hill and Burnley groups again.
Thank you for this great video as its good to see the early versions of the comeng trains. On the speedo where it reads 1168462, is that in hours or total km travelled?
Looks like most in service NYC trains. 😂
Ya get in through holes in the yards fence, don't go on weekends you'll get caught 100%
Comeng 504M Films ihave been to the seat facotry we they make the seats and apoplstery great video i wish i had the moan y will buy and will donet to the new port work shop's rail musme
Comeng;s EDI?
11:49 the summaries its time for the sad part
I want to take the connex seats
how did you get in? because i wanna go
I'm curious how come it's not 336M 337M
It entered service as 335M-1017T?-336M but due to things a whole bunch of comengs were swapped around before 2005
Post 2005 was really just 314 and 334 when an issue happened at Newport
And possibly the choppers but I don’t remember when they got swapped
11:55 what’s that
That is water leaking into the train, and if you look even closer, mold
@@comeng504mfilms I thought it was pee
