the fact that this actually happened tells how evil humans are. He speaks so calmly about it and shows a resilient spirit but really informs his passion about facing the ills in our generation and calling them out.
i don't understand why everyone keeps asking him the same questions all the time. i have heard him explain about being born a crime like 20000 times. i know he has to talk about his book but im sure they can ask him other questions Jesus.
The times we live in, and the result of having almost the sum total of human knowledge and endeavor at one's fingertips. I remember a time when information was a lot harder to come by. Now we're drowning in it.
Probably the book publisher that give the interviewer some side in the book he can talk and read about. He can't give the whole book for free, nobody will buy the book.
To E. O. D. It is so easy to talk about..... yourself. It is so easy to be convinced that the entire PLANET is interested in your upbringing. It isn't so easy to talk and convince ME that I will just LOVE hearing about yourself and your upbringing and your kooky parents. This little comment is for the people who are sick to death of the blah, blah, blah of these types of "comedians". I will put in print my rant for all of you.
Chris Thile took over the immensely popular public radio program, A Prairie Home Companion, when that show's creator/host Garrison Keillor got into some trouble and was forced out. The show eventually morphed into something quite different and was renamed Live From Here. It still airs on Saturday evenings.
Err... Swiss? He grew up and lived his life in South Africa, and was fundamentally shaped by it. His genes are half-swiss to be sure, but I have never heard him call himself Swiss based on the heritage of his father. :)
Which brings an outsider like me to the question, why do Americans always take mixed race as black irregardless of which one the black or the white parent is... I've never heard of a mixed race in America being called a white... What's up with that...
BornToFly They are considered black to because, during slavery times, America had the "one drop" rule. That rule meant that anyone that had one drop of African ancestry in their blood was considered a negro. That way of thinking has been passed down to us from generation to generation.
I see... since the black community was small they didn't mind adding to it unlike South Africa where they had to place mixed race as colored to avoid adding to the already large group of blacks... I understand
And REJECTED by smart people who do not follow the herd. I am proud of my African ancestry, but no less proud of the rest. I fully reject stupid society telling me I should ignore ALL of my ancestry and accept their inaccurate, hate-motivated categorization. Screw that!
I don't like Trevor Noah from what I've seen of his hosting of the Daily Show. He's another unfunny "comedian" and inflammatory liberal who makes a living spouting vitriol into his ideological echo chamber. With that said, I was happy to see this "other side" of him. And while I think his anecdote about "privilege" could have been attributed to a number of other things, it's conversations like this that remind us that most of us are still human no matter how differently we see the world. Just a thought from a white conservative.
Rughe Cotone As a card carrying moderate liberal I find Trevor to be a bit too partisan for my taste on the daily show sometimes. Jon Stewart didn't intend, necessarily, to make the daily show into a liberal platform. But Noah seems to have a direct ideological bent. I like it less. That said I hope you reserve at least as much ire for the Sean Hannitys of the world whom I find to be much. more vitriolic.
mrjdgibbs it's hard not to be so against a political party when the party leader clearly exhibits racist or sexist tendencies, no? If it's any other time I'm pretty sure Trevor could pick on both sides if both sides are morally similar in that they still believe in "all men are equal". But if one side doesn't believe so, it doesn't matter what the policies are, even on principle there's no reason to nice to them just to appear impartial or unbiased. He mentioned in another interview that trying to look unbiased only makes people think that this is normal, this can get on news and it's cool. The media's job should not normalize things that are not beneficial to the society. By beneficial I mean everyone, not just a certain group. Time and again the red team had try to take away people's rights or do things that only benefit a particular group. As far as I can tell the conservative party is not fond of minorities or even women's rights. There's no "all men are equal" if they believe in "mexicans are drug dealers and rapists", or "grab them by the pussy". You can't respect the man who said them, and all these people behind him defending him for whatever reason. That leaves them no choice but to be on the liberal side. Trevor sends his messages strongly on what they think is right or wrong. People are free to agree or disagree, of course, but just like any other entity in the United States, the Daily Show is free to exercise their freedom of speech, and their stance is that of equality. You don't often get a mixed South African man to host an American show, with a cast of a white man, a black man, an Asian guy, a Muslim of Pakistani descent and a women as contributors. Their message lately is the President-elect is the a racist and sexist who is given too much power and platform, it's dangerous and it is not advancing people towards "all men are equal". They wouldn't be standing there if they don't believe in equality. And I agree with them.
Grey Ang You're pretty much preaching to the choir here. But believe me, there's still plenty of bullshit on our side of the isle too. There is a significant difference in both the quantity and quality of the bullshit. But it only helps credibility to spend a little bit of time on it.
I agree. Thile is thoroughly obnoxious here. What's the big deal, Chris? Quit giggling and rubbing your eyes, and speak to your guest. Trevor Noah is the essence of poise and class, Thile comes off like a nervous fool. HOWEVER, it's also true that Thile is a musical genius, an absolutely stupendous player, one of the best in the world. Maybe he'll improve as a host over time.
Get over yourselves. Thile was polite and welcoming, and I have no idea how you got here not knowing who he is. Maybe he's a little eccentric--sometimes that comes along with being one of the most brilliant musicians of your time.
Trevor Noah should move back to the country he never should have left and promote Somalian immigration to that country. Minnesota has taken it's fill and can take no more. APHC isn't called that anymore and it sure isn't about Minnesota.
Blessings to Trevor and to all of us "mixed" people. I am Swiss, and German, and English, and Dutch, and Spanish, the Soweto too muted now to mention.
Heh batho😜🙆🏽♂️🇿🇦👌🏽
"Oh, this is awkward." Hanging out with Chris Thile...this statement was from the heart.
I never thought I'd see a host more enthusiastic than Jimmy Fallon until I saw Chris Thile.
Jack Scullin i would like to think thiles laugh and interest is more sincere than fallons
I think jimmy and chris are both very grateful to be where they are and it shows
i know it's kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to watch newly released movies online ?
I love that Trevor Noah has been invited to this show. Instant like.
Genius recognizes and appreciates genius, which is why Chris gets such a kick out of Trevor
These guys are the most talented geniuses of their generation. So glad to see them together.
Compelling yet humorous. I love this program!!!
the fact that this actually happened tells how evil humans are. He speaks so calmly about it and shows a resilient spirit but really informs his passion about facing the ills in our generation and calling them out.
Be still my heart!!!!!!
My worlds have collided w/ this meeting. =8-)
Never thought these two could cross paths. Lovely.
Two of my most favorite humanoids on the same stage. Coolness.
Humanoids?
No kidding. I couldn't believe it. Trevor and Chris
I was part of one of two white families in a black church. Yes, the music was amazing, and yes the services went on FOREVER! Lol
Then they invite you to dinner which will end with the evening service. And yes, the music was amazing.
Chris is doing an excellent job with APHC! So happy he's grabbing the reigns!
Love this.
I liked each of these guys before they got their shows. This is blowing my mind.
Great Trevor!!!!
He was fangirling so hard
I never knew PHC was still alive & thriving! This is incredible!
I know right? 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤❤❤😍😍😍
It’s called ‘live from here’ now
I never noticed Trevor's accent until now.

It Sounds insightful every time
Was so funny listen to Trevor arguing with his mother about what God wants to say them
Trevor Noah and Rickie Gervais: Not religious and the funniest most intelligent comics in the world!!
they're birthday twins!
So right 5:20
The Writer's Almanac could come back if only it had more banjo and mandolin playing. If only it was all banjo and mandolin playing.
Does chris smoke weed? He comes across very friendly.
Nothing against weed smokers, but are you saying those who abstain necessarily NOT friendly?
It’s not like weed is compulsory for friendliness ;-)
Trevor Do you still go to church?

So basically Trevor Noah is swiss. He can actually teach a lot to republicans about democracy, guns control, votations and others
Err... Swiss? He grew up and lived his life in South Africa, and was fundamentally shaped by it. His genes are half-swiss to be sure, but I have never heard him call himself Swiss based on the heritage of his father. :)

Trevor Noah is easily one of the biggest hacks in comedy history
He's more successful than you 🤣
@@joebwannabe so
You just have a poor sense of humor.

It's always interesting to really see the perspective of other people, as we get to with Trevor here.

What also could it have been attributed to? His grandmother SAID it was because he is white.

What? Why?
ajdc88 seems like a nice guy. What did he do to you?
Such an overreaction, lol
ajdc88 - You didn't watch this video, did you?
A black woman is unsubscribing from the whitest show ever because they had an actual African on? I feel suddenly dyslexic.
How is this Chris guy getting a lot of credit, he's terrible here
Relax he's just eccentric and wierd. He's also a genius with a nobel prize.
