That pepper simulates mildew that forms on stuff outside and has to be washed off with a pressure washer at my house. 🤦🏼♀️😂🤦🏼♀️😂🤦🏼♀️😂🤦🏼♀️ You are very generous to share your techniques and recipes with your subscribers. TY

Hey from Arkansas again. So I followed this recipe except for the pickling salt. I used some coarse Sea Salt... Maybe it's the humidity here?? Idk but mine did not turn out nearly as smooth and easy as yours looked. It was so gloppy and wet... It just slid off the vase in glops and left a watery grey streak on vase .. I closed it up in an old lunch meat plastic container and when I came back out like 30 min later to check on the vase there was literally water puddles in the sealed container.... It was kinda dry and crumby looking, but there was literally water standing in the bottom of the container separate from the paint mixture.... My husband just reminded me that it's like 65% humidity right now and it's only going up bc of rain coming in.... Idk what it could be otherwise....
Hi Wendy I think it might be the humidity but also I don’t use the salt wash technique on glass I only use it on wood it’s very easy for it to slide around on glass and not work Properly. It needs to lay flat and the wood would Absorb that moisture
I tried it tonight, maybe I did something wrong? It dried out on me way too fast even after putting more water in it. I used a sample jar of a Behr latex paint that I had purchased a while ago to turn into chalk paint - it was a beautiful light creamy sea blue color which I thought might look interesting. I'll take a look at your coffee grind video and see if I can pull that one together. Thanks for the ideas and tips!
If it is too dry maybe cut back on the plaster of paris. That might help. I am loving the baking powder paint. Have you tried it? ua-cam.com/video/oE4KCjnTZ_8/v-deo.html
Thank you for sharing the recipe! Perhaps you could help me I have someone who wants me to make them a wood shelf but they want it to look like pottery do you have any suggestions Thank you for any help
Thanks for watching! Yes it would work but I find when brushing on the poly acrylic it brings out the colour in the pepper which it wouldn’t do with the spray as much ☀️
Question: I noticed that you couldn’t see the black pepper until it was daubed on at the end. That could have just been a trick of the video. But, if it really doesn’t show during the initial painting, can we skip the step of adding it to the mix and get the same result by just daubing it in at the end? Or do you need the pepper incorporated to get the texture?
I add the pepper to the paint because I find it adds extra texture but for sure you can just add at the end. Try it either way and see what you like best ❤️
Wow it really does look like cement. What an awesome idea. I can't wait to try it. 🤗🤗😗😗😙😚❤❤❤

I really like this technique. Do you know how well it holds up to the day to day? Thanks for this video.
It holds up really well if you coat it with poly acrylic sealer! Mine has been on my table since I made it about 6 months ago
Loved your video!!!! You are so awesome I can't wait to try this!!!

Wowwwww.. Amazing video
Glad you enjoyed!
Love this! If you’re going to dab pepper on after the last coat of paint, why do you add it into the paint mix itself? Thx 😊
Thanks for watching!♥️ I find adding the pepper right into the paint give it more of a uneven texture when with salt to mimic cement.
❤️It ! Can I use calk paint with this recipe 🤔
Thanks for watching! Yep you sure can but maybe not use as much baking soda. You might just have to play around with the mixture to see what works ❤️
This is so cool. I can’t wait to try this. I have a question though. Why add the pepper to the mixture if you are brushing it on by itself?
Thanks for watching Sharon♥️ I like to add the pepper into the paint with the salt because it gives it a more uneven texture like cement
Another great recipe. Thanks so much for sharing. Have you have tried out a mixture of cement and latex paint?
Thanks for watching! ❤️ no I haven’t tried that mixture
❤

Many do a sand paint technique? ❤️
❤
Wouldn't a spray lacquer be better to use since it won't knock off any loose bits, or affect the texture?
Thanks for watching! Yes it would work but I find when brushing on the poly acrylic it brings out the colour in the pepper which it wouldn’t do with the spray as much ☀️

Can one do this on plastic planters?
Yes if you prime first and seal after :)
It seems like the salt would dissolve, I guess it wouldn’t, if it dried quick enough. I watched Kimo do this, on his channel.
No it doesn’t dissolve if you use a coarse salt!! I love the affect it gives 🌿
Can you start the recipe out with chalk paint?
I find it works best to stay with this recipe. But it is always worth testing out new recipes
Can you use chalk paint with this recipe?
Sure can
