  • I have had quite a few machines over the years and I am not often surprised by a machine but this is the best game I have had for some time. I am not normally a fan of Data East, I like Jurassic Park, Star Wars and LW3 (in small dose's) and I had never seen a LAH in the flesh but given the appalling film it was not on my radar as a game to buy but fate stepped in! I was collecting a game for a friend and the guy had this sitting there, he had owned it for 15 years and was thinking of selling, if I haven't had a game before I will normally get it just to have a good go and then sell it on so I asked him what he wanted for it and we agreed a price. If you ignore the 2 annoying things about this game, the translate (an alternative one is in the post!)and the repeated speech calls "come back later" and "here's another explosion for your movie kid" it is a cracking game with everything on it, a cool gun shooter, shaker motor, 2 captive balls, 3 magnets under the playfield (like TAF), ramps, diverters, a vuk, drop targets, add-a-ball multiballs and lots of modes, it really is cool, I think it will be staying for a while!

Cool pinball machine. Whenever I'm on vacation in Bavaria, I play this old pinball machine. It's partially broken, but the sound effects and cool music. Simply unique. The machine is still there. Time travel into retro gaming.

It's impressive how Data East was able to recreate the scenes from the original film.
As soon as it plays the scene of Arnold giving off his one-liner, you know what to do.

One of my favorite pinball machines back in 92/93. Liked Last action hero allot!

Love this pin. Here's the story how I got mine: I walked down the street in a small town in southern Germany in 1998, when I saw three guys carrying this machine out a pub. I walked up to them and asked what they where doing with it. One guy said:"flipper is dead - that's it!" "Wanna have it?" - I said yes, ran home, got my fathers car and all my savings and ended up paying the equivalent around 130.-$ in deutschmarks. :) - It was in a 3+ condition. I polished it up a bit... it is still there. Love it. :)

My name is Aidin. Here's my story. When I walked into the Mall of Georgia on December 8, 2019, and I went to the replay arcade and played pinball there. The guy was fixing a pinball machine called the Beatles beatlemania gold edition pinball machine. I really enjoy the replay arcade in the Mall of Georgia.

I love this game. I used to play it at my local donut shop as a kid. The shop also had Metal Slug!!

This game was in the Student lounge at college. I never played Pinball games before this one, I was more of a street fighter type. After the SF2 machine when down I played this one. I fell in love with it, I probably pumped about $500 in it the years I went there.

Man, that is a guilty pleasure, respect to you for owning up my friend! :-) Seriously though after I got the machine I got the move again and it's better than I remember, Arnie was good at mocking himself. I'm not sure if you are in the UK but these normally sell for £1100-1200, good luck!

PinBallReviewer The music is AC/DC's Big Gun from the movie. The generic synth sounds that are used make it sound similar to Duke or Doom.

Love this game, I just picked one up two weeks ago. Mines got an LED conversion, you should really consider it makes the game POP! I never even heard of the movie before I saw this pin, and I ended up buying it because I liked the pin so much. Movie sucked, but oh well it looks neat sitting next to the pin. Ha! Happy shooting!

Just FYI, LAH was just added to Pinball Arcade. I haven't seen a real one in 20 years. But it kicks as much ass as I remember.
Now we just need Jurassic Park and Star Wars to complete the trifecta of good Data East.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to playing again. What other machines would you suggest that have a somewhat steep learning/skill curve/deep set of rules, but also fun/enjoyable at the same time? I used to have a Judge Dredd machine as well, but had to sell it because I needed money.

    Wow cool pin.
I noticed the music sounds a lot like Doom or Duke Nukem music it is very close it is almost a remix of that music in this pin lol.

It’s good isn’t it! I think you are probably right with the music. One of the reasons I don’t like a lot of Data East stuff is the pumping sound tracks (have a look at my Star Trek 25th video to see what I mean) but this one is not too bad.

Over their last few titles, Data East games got much better soundtracks that sounded less like a constant hurry-up mode. LAH was a massive improvement from Jurassic Park before it in that regard!

Long the pin Matt, but I loved the little side story you posted more. I've got to stop watching your vids Matt because you give me the itch to try to buy some other titles under the radar like this one! You're killing me Matt! LOL
