What is amazing is that I've probably listened to this song over 200 times in my lifetime, so I know where ever one of Garibaldi's licks are. She's probably listened to it how many - 20 times? No only does she have every lick down cold, she captures the feel of the groove and even adds her own flavor. I may wind up listening to HER play it 200 times...👏👏👏👏👏
I remember when she first surfaced. I was amazed at how good she was. After going back and seeing her old stuff she is a great deal better so much so that it doesn’t compare to who she is today. I’ve seen her play other instruments and after hearing her play other instruments I’m happy to say God doesn’t love her any more than me 😅 I’m excited to see her every time she drops a new video. Tower of Power proves she can play anything well….
Yoyoka needs a high speed cam and then slow it down to 25% so I can see what she's doing... That girl is a groove machine, incredible! Peace and love bro, nice reaction, thanks!
As a hard core fan of Tower of Power and their drummer David Garibaldi i gotta say she killed it!! I've heard this song so many many times and she played it like DG does and that's not an easy task simply amazing!!
YOYOKA met with David G from TOP shortly after this cover! Great reaction. Perfectly timed sleeve pull and bass drum kick! As Glen mentions below she is a delightful young lady, and it was a thrill to see her live and meet her (and Ellen). So humble.
Great Choice. Great Reaction. I hope musicians at her School of Arts in Oakland are inspired to form 'Tower of Power II'. It'd be wonderful if they take this music onwards. Funk is nutrition for the soul. Best Wishes to You, Your Family and Friends, and to your Important Work. ☮
Shakes-P, Oh Wow! My Friend, That was so much fun, Amazing reaction!!! It has been a while since I dropped a Yoyoka performance on you, so I thought it was about time I did another one. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. She is so Amazing, and it was so fun to see her smile while killing it, and blowing our minds with her talent. Thanks so much, God Bless You and Your Family, and the Children of the Philippines, Love, Tom, from the USA
This ToP song is on my permanent play list. Yoyoka covers it while barely braking a sweat. I would love to see her sit in with ToP some day in the future.
There's no doubt you've reacted to some of her great covers, & there are so many more to do. But could you take a look at her cover of Jeff Beck's 'Led Boots'. It is really something special. A non drummer, like myself, would say it is not possible. But she does it. Astonishing.
This is the very best reactor set up on your screen EVER! You made Yoyoks bigger but did not lose the foot cam and we got to see your reactions to the Mighty Hokkaido Hammer! Excellent content!😊
Thanks Shakes! FUNKY YOYOKA is always THE BEST! I got to see her last week in Las Vegas. She gets better every week. Not sure it's the ultimate compliment though for YOYOKA to cover your band. Maybe the ultimate threat? She's likely to do a better job than the original ...LOL She destroys a pair of sticks every 2-3 days due to her intentional rim shots. Part of the YOYOKA affect. Recently she broke a rim. And she cracks 3-4 cymbals per year. Her kit must quiver when it sees her walking up! JUNNA's kit probably not real fond of JUNNA either!
@@Shakes-P Had lot of good times with her and her family. Went to Silk Sonic concert with her, got to meet Anderson.Paak backstage because of her. And got to meet Ellen at the recording of "The Ocean". Very cool stuff. YOYOKA and Ellen just met that day, showed up at the recording studio, and without practice or ever playing before, they banged that video out in 1 take (for the audio), several other takes so Hovak could get close up video shots of everyone. She is just as real in person as in her videos. Such a sweet and humble girl. When I told her one of her nicknames was "The Human Metronome" she laughed and said "My timing is not very good". Then Rob Yule (flew down from Canada just to see her) and I laughed. If her timing isn't good, what about the rest of the world!
Nice one Shakes. Busy feet this time. Yoyoka recently met David Garibaldi and he was well aware of her work! Now in Oakland, will she meet ToP for a jam I wonder?
Here is the thing with Yoyoka, when she does a cover, she goes right to the pulse of the song. She makes the song sound like she is driving the beat. If you really want to find out just how good she sounds, run her cover through a high end stereo. The sound, timing, the drum volume, cymbal crashes, all even, no over burden. She can definitely improve the groove on some songs. What I am looking forward to is her doing an Eddie Money or Steve Miller song. Why? Gary Mallaber was the drumner.

She met David G and he said he saw her play this and told her it was really good, She is on her way to legend status

Yes. Why not the very recent live version with Narada Michael Walden himself cheering her on from stage right taking his place in his band.

I try hard to put the artists 1st on the channel while trying to give you guys the best viewing experience possible!!!
@Shakes-P I shared your reaction on my Facebook page. I got no gas but hey I thought it was worth a try.
@@chrisegbertky Oh wow,
Super appreciated Chris!
What sets her apart from everyone else is she can pretty much play all types of music very very well.
Most people only play one type.

AMAZING!!!!
You need to see her recent cover if a Sting cut in 5-4 Time! Its a cover if Vinnie Caluchi's amazing drum technique.
