What happened to the EV Civic project, really annoying when you watch these videos and more than you just gets fed up and dumps the whole thing, an update would be appreciated.
Great to see you back. I can tell in your voice this is what you're meant to be doing. I don't know anything about doing machine work and couldn't think of a better person to watch and learn from. Good luck!
@@fix-and-drive-diy-repairs - Tom already bought all the expensive stuff, motor, batteries and wheels. Not sure about the controller though ? I know what it's like for a project to go on the back burner and never get done. But when you force yourself to get on with it again, it can be an amazing source of joy and satisfaction. Or did Tom sell it all to fund the machine shop ?
Very Cool! I worked 4 years as a tool & die maker many years ago. I really enjoyed it and would still be a toolmaker had the company I worked for not gone out of business. The closed the doors with very little notice, I couldn't find another job in that field right away so I went back to working on cars and have been doing that ever since. I sure would like to set up a little machine shop in my barn, Vertical knee mill, lathe, surface grinder would probably be the extent of the bigger tools I plan to buy in the future. I did sell most of my machinist tools which I regret but still have some good stuff. I'll be subscribing to your new channel. Have a good one.
Congratulations Tom. It's in your blood. You really didn't have a choice! Just takes a long time to come to terms with your destiny. Looking forward to what's next.
There's a great couple of books.. Metalworking Sink or Swim and Metalworking, Doing it better both by Tom Lipton, and he runs a youtube channel oxtoolco and there's some other great channels...
