American Football was called so because they actually use their feet to kick,tackle,run,jump and reach each others goal lines. It was never called football due to the ball being 1foot in length.

@JulezZ It's in Germany I think (I am so smurt hurr durr). A lot of League tourney-stuff is in Cologne/Köln. I must be honest and say that I dunno if LCS is also located there but I think so.

As a guy that loves to watch and play football, this is awesome.
This puts a huge smile on my face! I wish the NA/KR scene would do something similar to this. It's nice to see the professional players doing social events and activities so that the fans can see them outside of realm of gaming. I wish there was more footage! I'm grinning like a little school girl!
Soccer is like my passion in life and someday I hope I can coach a little clinic's level team and experience everything I did over again. ! I've been playing soccer for 16 years myself and played throughout high school and the first two years of college!
I wonder if our NA LCS players even have the coordination to play real sports like basketball, football, soccer, etc. Lol >_>

Soccer was a term coined by the English (Oxford) ..... they wanted to call it soccer because they wanted it to be known as a gentlemen's sport.
football does make more sense and i don't care what its called.... we all understand what it means.... but to all those people who feel the need to feel superior ... just know a little bit of history b4 u write ur "intelligent" posts.

I have an idea... I dont know if it would work out, but... During the break from Spring and Summer split they could play some Football/Basketball matches and make it a tournament or something. I always wanted to see something like that. Make like 6 teams with players from all the teams in every squad and it would be just fun to watch if Riot made something like that. Plus, they would share some healthy life-style ideas.

Whoever wrote the Football line I feel like kissing him/her. Too many idiots refer to football as soccer. If you aren't in America, heck not even the entirety just North America it's called football, so call it that.
Soccer stemmed from America because they already have sports called Football. The main problem is in countries like mine, Australia, where football is also the nickname of the National Rugby League and even Rugby Union. When neither of them actually have Football in the name (like NFL). That is where "soccer" hear is called football by those who actually play and/or enjoy watching it. Most "footy" players will call NRL / Rugby football, but footy is catching on as its term, with football being the main term for the sport of "soccer".
Just saying... As someone who lives in Australia and plays Football, I play AFL footy which stands for Australian Football League (yes football is in the name) so maybe that may be true up in Queensland or New South Wales but not elsewhere in Australia.
Chocomuffins34 Can defniitely agree with this. AFL is closer to football then most of the other codes like it named football as well, as the game heavily revolves around kicking the ball to eachother, and kicking to score points.
However I did learn today why NFL is called football, due to the measurement system in it, and its heavy focus around gaining feet.
