I love that term ‘music of the unprivileged’ especially when you consider how elegant and regal Tangos can come across, the fact it is actually a display of passion and struggle of the everyday person 💃🏼

It's so funny how SM gave Ian the note "make it harder" for View while SHINee's always like "when View came out, we were like can this really be the choreo? we're not even sweating by the end!" Goes to show that 'difficult' or impressive choreography doesn't always have to be crazy power cardio moves - technique, execution, and details matter.

Taemin is the bomb, there's no-one like him. He's been killing it ever since he went solo and continues to bring it like no one can. He is a very talented, unique and amazing performer. I love him so much, out of all the Kpop artists of his generation, he stands out the most for me. And the new up & coming generations can definitely learn a lot from him. He's a legend.
I remember Taemin mentioning how "View" was actually kinda difficult and frustrating for him because the choreo didn't feel hard enough, because it was so different from SHINees usual very extreme choreos. But actually came to realize that just big difficult movements aren't what defines good dance, and that is how he came up with "Move". Arguably one of the most icon choreos and songs not only out of taemins discography but out of all of kpop. Especially when you consider that Taemin has a very feminine beauty that you might consider androgynous. He would have already been diagnosed as depressive before his enlistment but it would have worsened during his service, to the point of having been changed unit. This is why I find it funny when I read people saying that Taemin is a contemporary dancer lol he has a base in popping locking krumping dancing style and more because he taught himself from a very young age, added to the fact that he was inspired by his idols, such as MJ and Usher. That Taemin is interested in incorporating contemporary dance into his skills and part of his presentation as an artist is amazing too, he is not afraid to try styles as long as they are part of what he wants to capture in his work. It reminds me of when the rest of SHINee said that Taemin is a monster that absorbs everything like a sponge and takes the best of each member of the group haha Btw, the choreo on the Tuxedo Way mv is so dooooope! When Taemin said he made MOVE cuz he found out it’s okay to do chill dances like view. 😭🫢Now hearing them talk about the dance makes me think what exactly IS hard then? Like I am no dancer so I wouldn’t know but if this is hard and Taemin thinks it’s not…I’m sorry for being such an untalented person. 😭
I feel like since idols have to sing too, they probably find more technical dances easier - it gives them more time to breathe. Something like everybody is really fast and takes a lot more energy to execute, so it makes sense that they still see it as their hardest choreo. That song also has a lot more belting so both the song and dance require a lot of breath while view stripped back both the choreo and singing.
lots can be considered hard. controlling for slower movements can be harder than faster movements because it takes more control, and the slower movements are more noticeable if done incorrectly. fast can be hard because theres lots of moves that need to be hit by a certain beat. keeping time. controlling every part of your body and isolations, all difficult. really depends on what youre doing
The thing about Taemin is, he has this extra something that makes all choreo his style. His body line also helps him with creating the final product which is seems like art for me. No other dancer could do that.
When they describe him as an MJ of kpop, not because he dancing like MJ or he become a 2nd MJ, its because they both has identity, their dance their move is identical. They said, you can put both of them behind the curtain still you can identify them because of their style and gesture.
I don't know if people know how much Ian's choreography has so much depth and musicality to them since so much of his concepts aren't what people are typically drawn to especially in Kpop. Him working with Taemin is like fate bringing them together since they not only have a similar body type but just the attention to detail and artistry is soliddddd. I'm super glad Ian gets more love especially when World of Dance didn't showcase his choreo to the level it should've been shown. I hope that he gets more spotlight for his work and appreciation because he's a hella amazing dancer, artist, and freestyler.

Taemin is the reason I started taking kpop dance classes. I spent a year and a half in Daegu, South Korea taking dance classes at a local academy. It was hella rough, but I've gotten so much better and I love kpop dancing even more!

The choreography for both View and Danger are still one of the most iconic ones out there and I am so proud of SHINee, especially Taemin, for pulling it off. Even though Ian said he was experimenting a lot on the choreo for View, until now, it looks fresh and still had that signature move that fit the song and artist so well. My dad worked at the theater where they would show Monsters Of Hip Hop every year. That’s where I first saw Ian Eastwood. Big fan, of course. To then become a SHINee fan and have him enter that world as well is so crazy. And in such an important way. He is partially responsible for the success of SHINee’s first ever solo comeback. Also one that came after their first big hiatus. Like, as a Shawol and a fan of dance in general, I love you, dude! 😆

I’m not that educated in the dance world so I never knew Ian was a well renowned choreographer. I know him from UA-cam videos I watched from back in the day with people such as Megan Batoon and even Tori Kelly. To see him working with Taemin and the birth of such amazing choreography is so so soooo cool.

Ian is one of my favorite young choreographers and I have been following him for years because he really has his own flavor I have since watched music videos of so many artists and I can tell by the choreo that it's his work. Some people can dance and others can dance and put their stamp on their work where there is no mistaking their work for someone else's.

Taemin is the reason I started taking kpop dance classes. I spent a year and a half in Daegu, South Korea taking dance classes at a local academy. It was hella rough, but I've gotten so much better and I love kpop dancing even more!
taemin's danger was one of the first kpop dance videos I couldn't stop watching, so seeing this video with the choreographer is really cool!

To comment about what they said about K-POP artists and popping, back when Taemin debuted, that was actually the style he did.
The choreography for both View and Danger are still one of the most iconic ones out there and I am so proud of SHINee, especially Taemin, for pulling it off. Even though Ian said he was experimenting a lot on the choreo for View, until now, it looks fresh and still had that signature move that fit the song and artist so well. Thank you so much for having Ian Eastwood!!!

Yup, he did and more than once. He also took part in choreographing Taemin’s IDEA alongside Kasper, Keone Madrid and Bailey Sok.
My dad worked at the theater where they would show Monsters Of Hip Hop every year. That’s where I first saw Ian Eastwood. Big fan, of course. To then become a SHINee fan and have him enter that world as well is so crazy. And in such an important way. He is partially responsible for the success of SHINee’s first ever solo comeback. Also one that came after their first big hiatus. Like, as a Shawol and a fan of dance in general, I love you, dude! 😆

I’m not that educated in the dance world so I never knew Ian was a well renowned choreographer. I know him from UA-cam videos I watched from back in the day with people such as Megan Batoon and even Tori Kelly. To see him working with Taemin and the birth of such amazing choreography is so so soooo cool.

Ian is one of my favorite young choreographers and I have been following him for years because he really has his own flavor I have since watched music videos of so many artists and I can tell by the choreo that it's his work. Some people can dance and others can dance and put their stamp on their work where there is no mistaking their work for someone else's.
