The 90s. Simply incredible. The world was going to be our oyster. What happened? Feel so lucky to have been born in 1980 and had my teens in the 90s because it was a decade that was brilliant, so much optimism, the world seemed so good, things were changing, no social media, mobiles were few and far between, man life was just excellent
My oldest daughter is 28 and it reminds me of her Dad so much! We split and he got married and is very successful but his wife is very ill in a wheelchair and he runs his own business and comes home to take care of her! I'm so happy that he found love and success, it's hard enough to find just one! I would be lying if I said it doesn't hurt all these years later! He was an addict and poor when they got together and still loved him and helped him through it all! She is very good to my daughter and granddaughters and they love her very much,so even though it hurts I'm blessed that he married such a wonderful strong wife!!!
Bless you for having such a loving soul! My husband and I have been together since I was 11 and him 14 I’m 70 and he’s 73 together for 58 years married 52! And it was not always easy! We have 5 adult grandkids and 3 great grandkids

Sometimes I try to avoid listening to these golden 80s and 90s songs, most of the time they make cry such a simple and beautiful world we had back then, I always wondered how things have changed.

Split with my GF months after this song was released. This was our song. 5 months later she was killed in a car crash. 3 days after her death I recieved a delayed letter from her saying she wanted me back. I was devastated twice in one week. I was 21 at the time. All these years later this song hits home. Treasure what you have.
My dad passed in April 1996 and about a month later i heard this song for the first time I cried like a baby. And just lost my mom August 21 this year :((
Been 28 years for me. Does get easier. She moved on, remarried, successful, couple of cute kids. As long as she is happy, I'm happy. This song brings back the memories though

That definitely, to me, sounds like u truly loved her & still do to be able to wish her happiness. I pray u find someone to share your life with. Patience & when the time is right. 💞
I was 18, she was 17. I was from a different country, still developing. She was Australian. She got pregnant. We made some choices. I left to come back home. I cried the entire way. I havent seen her for decades. I loved her. It was just too hard for us....this song, still hurts.
My mom left my dad after 25 years on 1/1/24. Seen my dad broke down as man is very devastating. This song is exactly how my dad feeling right now. I love you dad it’s not your fault !
These comments from children missing and feeling for their fathers (even if you are an adult now) kills me. I am a dad now of two twin 5 year old boys and their mom did me wrong and I know they are in so much pain not seeing me anymore for no reason.
Damn give me the 90s back, when we would listen to music without scrolling our phones at the same time! We would hear every note, every word so deeply, and we would literally connect to the song and feel its message. Kids these days just don't have that connection to music like we did. They probably want to know how many plays a song has, or shazams, or if someone has made a tic-tok of it. Somewhere along the line we lost our way. 😢
This song got me through the death of my daughter. Every time I hear this I think of her. 26 years later. Beautiful song that got me through the darkest, hardest tile of my lie.
one of the greatest songs ever .when this song came out my grandmother was dying from cancer and my dad had already passed away.this song to me represents being strong when deep down your world is falling apart.wishing you could say so much if just given that one chance to say it.
Absolutely. Like most people I've been through heartbreak throughout my life. The words in this song hit right at the core of what it's like to have a broken heart 💔 I'm glad I don't have one now. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. If you are going through it.... the pain DOES ease x
I wish people still made music like this pure and from the heart. I am metal head I play on heavy metal bands but I'm also a musician so I know when credit is do I actually love stuff like this. Everything is so different today. Heart, soul and creativity have left us there is a few out there in all styles keeping it alive but not enough.
Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me and brings me to tears about my older sister who passed away. This song is about a guy in love with a girl, but I associate it with the love I had for my sister, she taught me so much more than my older brother when we were young, I find it hard to believe she is gone and I couln't help her at that time...RIP my L7, can't wait to meet you again in the afterlife!!
hang in there Brooke, I get by just relishing in our memories growing up and I find myself talking to her a lot (crazy I know) but this was my big sis and she was the best!
i know how feel my mother was on the verge of death. she was fighting liver cancer and didn't think she would live passed it but she did but was never the same.
If there’s anybody out there that has a love in their life that’s going through some things please say to them how you truly feel about them before it’s too late. That’s the message in this song. I miss my husband sooo much him singing to me and me just acting as though I’ve heard it before...tears now that he’s passed away and now I’m wishing I could hear him sing to me just one more time
when this song was released at that time i thought this was just one of those heartbreak songs. man i was so wrong.. lost my husband of 6 yrs been together for 19 yrs this covid19 year. the lyrics here got me... never i imagined i would be this lost n broken more than words could describe.
This song would've been a huge hit today... It's crazy how good it is.. I know everybody has already noticed it, but Tony sounds just like Babyface. I first heard this song on VHS and I absolutely thought it was Babyface. RnB in the 90s was so crazy and awesome. edit: love you guys, the poetry is so true to our time!!!
I wonder how you feel now. The one person that was there to make you happy, but you did everything to hurt me. I was no longer weak .Thats why had to leave. I don’t miss you I am at peace and I love myself now. Yes God I Thank you for the strength
I'm 68 and I found this Gem in 2019...my friend wanted to hear this...we were on a road trip. I had never heard it. I found it on utube and I was blown away...I love it. The next year covid hit and my frien lost his battle and past in April that year. He was one of the first that died. This really hits home now....❤😢
Over a year has passed and still heart broken. God i miss you. You were my best friend and the best thing to ever happen to me. I still love you. I always will.
The opening alone is enough to make me teary-eyed. Waves of nostalgia. I remember when this first came out in 1995. The days when I still believed in love. I remember they'd always play this on VH1, lol. What an amazing song.
I would listen to this song over and over after my first love in high school and I broke up, back in 1996. To this day it still hurts. This song always has a place in my heart.
Of all the love songs the world has to offer, this is probably the only one that properly, sincerely and accurately describes the feelings of either breaking up from someone you love, or losing a partner from death, and the feelings and grief a person goes through in their mind.
A country artist named Kevin Sharp did a beautiful cover to this song in the 90s. It stayed on the charts for weeks. He was battling cancer. Sadly, he passed away 6 years ago. It's beautiful when artists from different genres share their songs. The song was beautiful either way but when Kevin sang this song it hit on a spiritual level. "I'm dying inside and nobody knows it but me." Rest in heaven Kevin. ❤️
Altan Ulugun I am born in 1998 but always liked 2000s and 2010s music but now I am obssesed with 80s and 90s music, I think music in general died after 2013
I've been avoiding listening to this song cause it takes me back to days when I was really depressed. I was afraid it was going to make me start crying, but you know, I'm doing just fine listening and singing along to it.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I will always keep coming back to this song. If perfection was a thing it would be his voice singing this song 😍😍 why can’t they make music like this anymore 😩
@@IsThisThePrizeIveWaitedFor I know what you mean. It’s definitely bittersweet. I could think of this song out of the blue and each time I cave in and listen to it the tears still fall 🥺
Its been 20 years and I still miss her but I cant let anyone know. God I miss her soo much! Just one more touch one more I love you just one more kiss. I miss you.
Classic Hit. This song showcases the definition of "ART" at it's best. Everything was perfection. Priceless work of art. They don't make them like this no more.
God please keep us wrapped in your arms I have been away for so long I try to make it on my own but God I know somewhere deep in my subconscious thoughts that I couldn't make it without your grace and mercy thank you lord 🙏
I was 18 years old when this song came out . I instantly fell in love with it . Whoever thinks that time machine has not been invented is a fool . It's always been there in the form of music. It takes you right back to that long gone sweet innocent time . You remember where you were , what was going on in your life , your friends....... everything
Back in the day my girl and I broke up. The pain was so bad I moved to New York from Toronto. I remember I was in a club and I looked down at my pager while this somg was playing. It was her number and I called her right away regardless of the changes (back then lol) we have been married for 23 years now. It isn't picture perfect we do have our good and bad days but we've managed to stay together. The crazy part is I was so far away and this song kind of put us back together ❤️.
Nobody Knows was Written By Joe Rich and Don Dubos'e in Sept 1993. It was later produced and performed By Tony Rich in 1995 on Laface records and became a world wide pop hit in 1996. Later that year Country Singer Kevin Sharp went #1 for 5 weeks on the country charts.
@UThink UCan No I meant Written By Joe Rich and Don Dubose Lol. Tony Rich Song and Produced It . Also Keven did A beautiful Country Version and Back then to run 4 weeks on the country was a big deal because Billy Ray Cyrus held the record for 5 weeks at the time.
The songs we loved when we were young hold a special place in our hearts. They are the soundtrack to our memories, and they have the power to transport us back to a time when life was simpler and more carefree.
When I first heard this song we had broken up, but now it means so much more he is really gone!!!! he died and I don't have the words to say what I wished I had said. Please say what you want now. I will always love you!!!!! Thanks Tony for my song
No matter how long it grows apart, it just grows more to the girl you loved, you miss and even though it will never go back to the way you want it too , you just have too live with it and move on, even though it hurts so much
Has to be one of the best songs of all time, great words, timeless; can feel the emotional pain in Tony Rich's voice that many can relate to with their own losses.
[singing:] I pretend that I'm glad you went away These four walls closing more every day And I'm dying inside And nobody knows it but me Like a clown I put on a show The pain is real even if nobody knows And I'm crying inside And nobody knows it but me Why didn't I say the things I needed to say How could I let my angel get away Now my world is just a-tumblin' down I can say it so clearly but you're nowhere around The nights are so lonely the days are so sad and I just keep thinking about the love that we had And I'm missing you And nobody knows it but me I carry smile when I'm broken in two And I'm nobody without someone like you I'm trembling inside And nobody knows it but me (yeah) Lie awake, it's a quarter past three I'm screaming at night if I thought you'd hear me Yeah, my heart is calling you And nobody knows it but me (well, well) How blue can I get? You could ask my heart But like a jigsaw puzzle it's been torn all apart Billion words couldn't say just how I feel A million years from now you know I'll be loving you still The nights are so lonely the days are so sad and I just keep thinking about the love that we had And I'm missing you And nobody knows it but me Oooo oohhhhh yeah Tomorrow morning, I'm a hit a dusty road Gonna find you, where ever, ever you might go And I'm gonna unload my heart and hope you come back to me
Song brings sad memories for me. My father used to play this all the time when my parents separated then divorced. It was the first time I seen a man actually vulnerable and heart-broken.
This would be on the soundtrack of my life. I used to sing this over and over thinking about the one that got away. Throughout middle school and high school. I watched her from a far too scared and too shy to go up to her to tell her how I feel. Then day of graduation, I watched her walk out of my life forever. Many nights I would lay awake thinking about her. 20 years later. I still do. I will always love her.
Owee I feel you I've been broken up from my ex after being together 8 years straight and we've been separated since 2016 it's 2022 and I still miss him..that's a long time plus we have a son together..ouch.just pray
This song man... I don't think anybody gets close to describing the emotional journey of love lost nowadays besides Adele. Most artists (ironically) seem to kinda romanticize the whole thing. This song is crafted in its entirety to try to express that journey. I didn't get that when I was 3 and first heard this song...but man. Senior in college now, been through some things that make me really appreciate this song and those who can make songs like this.
MNM… 💔
This was our song. We were supposed to grow old together. And now I’ll have to listen to it without you.

Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I miss good music. I miss alot of things that I can never get back nor ever see again.
I've been through the same 😢 to see my father break 💔 still miss him
Love is hard to find…..and even harder to keep . So sorry. Time heals all wounds they say……but only sometimes.
These comments from children missing and feeling for their fathers (even if you are an adult now) kills me. I am a dad now of two twin 5 year old boys and their mom did me wrong and I know they are in so much pain not seeing me anymore for no reason.

For sure
Yes, 78 baby here. This was our time❤

Born in 82. I miss the 90's and if I had a time machine I would go back and tell myself that everything was going to end up just fine.
I was born in 1973. The 80s and 90s. I thought were the best time to be kid.
Saw him in concert when I was like 17. Extremely talented. His music is still amazing.
So true
At least now we can go back
❤
Funny to think in the 90s we didn't have access to music the way we do now yet it was better.
This song got me through the death of my daughter. Every time I hear this I think of her. 26 years later. Beautiful song that got me through the darkest, hardest tile of my lie.

This song still hits me deeply. It’s eternal

Such a beautiful song
I've been dying inside for 22yrs now and it never gets easier

It gets better just have faith pray to God he helps make it better

26 years here.

I remember the song years ago. I always thought it was Babyface singing. Great voices for both.

No matter how long it grows apart, it just grows more to the girl you loved, you miss and even though it will never go back to the way you want it too , you just have too live with it and move on, even though it hurts so much

Yes feeling like
This was yesterday 23 years ago someone played it for me still love the song
I'm really relating to this at the moment
[singing:]
I pretend that I'm glad you went away
These four walls closing more every day
And I'm dying inside
And nobody knows it but me
Like a clown I put on a show
The pain is real even if nobody knows
And I'm crying inside
And nobody knows it but me
Why didn't I say the things I needed to say
How could I let my angel get away
Now my world is just a-tumblin' down
I can say it so clearly but you're nowhere around
The nights are so lonely the days are so sad and
I just keep thinking about the love that we had
And I'm missing you
And nobody knows it but me
I carry smile when I'm broken in two
And I'm nobody without someone like you
I'm trembling inside
And nobody knows it but me (yeah)
Lie awake, it's a quarter past three
I'm screaming at night if I thought you'd hear me
Yeah, my heart is calling you
And nobody knows it but me (well, well)
How blue can I get?
You could ask my heart
But like a jigsaw puzzle it's been torn all apart
Billion words couldn't say just how I feel
A million years from now you know I'll be loving you still
The nights are so lonely the days are so sad and
I just keep thinking about the love that we had
And I'm missing you
And nobody knows it but me
Oooo oohhhhh yeah
Tomorrow morning, I'm a hit a dusty road
Gonna find you, where ever, ever you might go
And I'm gonna unload my heart and hope you come back to me

Pain is a harsh reality 💔 I,'m missing you but nobody knows it but me 😢
Song brings sad memories for me.
Time to find someone else

This song man... I don't think anybody gets close to describing the emotional journey of love lost nowadays besides Adele. Most artists (ironically) seem to kinda romanticize the whole thing. This song is crafted in its entirety to try to express that journey. I didn't get that when I was 3 and first heard this song...but man. Senior in college now, been through some things that make me really appreciate this song and those who can make songs like this.
