    Hey folks, Alan Doucette here... This video is from one of my students, Claudia Flynn, who wanted to raise the awareness of an important issue that is taking place right under our noses. Racism comes in many different forms. Becoming properly informed is a first step to combating this issue.

      Very interesting! I just started studying racism in a historical and psychological perspective but i've never tought it had anything to do with chemistry

    Wow that this is going on in the present day is crazy. Here in Southern California the beaches get closed due to the pollution of the Tijuana river, and when the signs saying the water is toxic are up it is not uncommon to see half rotted birds, sea lions and other dead animals wash up on the beach. I could only imagine if my water supply was as toxic as that. That is simply heart breaking.

    I don't understand how the government does not have to prioritize providing CLEAN WATER to all people. This made me remember about how it took 5 years to do anything about the water crisis in Flint Michigan, which is yet to truly be resolved. The system was built this way, and we are responsible for real change! Great presentation!

    When you have HRMS, non-target screening comes into play. If you also have bioassays and fraction collectors, effect-directed analysis will rock

    What is the cause or the origin of pluboism(aka bloated gut),and how do you prevent it from effecting you?And why would there be side effects on drugs(both medicinal and non-medicinal such as steroids,marijuana etc.)

    • @shortchemistry7927
      @shortchemistry7927  3 роки тому +6

      Good questions. The science is still being debated, but there is a strong connection to human growth hormone, which is a produced natural to stimulate growth in children. As an adult, your bones are fused so you can't grow any taller, but the hormone still stimulates growth. Combine that with huge meals, and a fatigued abdomen, and something gotta pop. I'm not the expert on medical side effects, though I can say once your body is behaving in ways that are different than normal, it can also do strange things with other drugs (which could amplify their effects in unpredictable ways). So docs want to play it safe by recommending against drug combinations that are not fully studied.

      @@shortchemistry7927 Thanks for the response.I've been intrigued to know the functionality of pluboism and I am ecstatic,to learn about the effects and be aware of the risk on using this kinds of PED's. Edit:I wonder why do I feel ecstatic when i learn about certain things,is it bad?or is it just my fascination being satisfied when its answered.
