I loved San Frutuoso! Before our visit I read its history and the history of the Doria family and I was enthralled by the tales of Admiral Andrea Doria and his many sea battles against the Ottoman Turks and the Barbary pirates, among others.
Indeed, that place is truly fascinating. The fact that you can only reach it by sea or hiking add to its mystique. Thinking of going in the off-season to see how it feels without all the crowds. Should be a whole different vibe, I suppose :)
Are you seriously using a GoPro with such awesome stabilization? That's amazing! Do you use an ND filter and mount the GoPro on your head for the best POV? Cheers from India
I was blessed with missing the ferry back from San Fruttuoso and took the walking trail to Portofino. Wow, that was the finest hike which beats those congested precarious Cinque Terre trails. It's relatively shady and level (after one climb), but has majestic coastal views. Hardly a soul could be seen except some glamorous yachties having romantic picnics.
@@Voyatours Except for the climb at either end, it's level and smooth. Maybe an hour to walk. Simple to find your way from San F. but maybe hard starting at Portofino where there is a spider web of trails. But then you could go onward to Comogli (difficult) or Santa M L in the other direction. You can find trail maps and signs with a dot system. The best route is 3 dot (or was it 2?)
This is super useful, I'll definitely be rereading this before the hike. The route to Camogli sounds intriguing, maybe I'll give it a shot! Thanks again for sharing...firsthand advice is always the best 😉.
Wonderful Portofino. places, sea, nature, walk, footage. Thank you for video sharing. Liked 👍 I subscribed to your wonderful channel, new friend here (hope you too) 🙂

@@Voyatours Totally different! We tend to travel in the off-season and the crowds are so much more manageable.

I've heard it's a beautiful hike. I'd like to take it when I'm back. Was it difficult? How long did it take you?
