Dear Shayla whenever i just feel overwhelmed and feeling desperate that I might be a failure because of irrealistic expectations, i just come back here and check how is hard but worth it. Thank you so much for being so open (despite how vulnerable it must feel!) ❤
This is the first real day in the life homeschool video I’ve seen. Thanks for the suggestions. I love your content it’s super helpful to learn from your experience.
Oh that "MAYBE" gets them. . .Maybe means yes to all kids. "Stop jumping on furniture please!" I love these little things in between all you were talking about in here. You are such a good mom.
I would love to hear grandma's soup tricks! Please include that next time. Looking forward to it! Have a wonderful day Shayla and thank you so much for all you do!❤ ❤ ❤❤❤
I really liked watching this video and for normalizing what homeschooling actually looks like! I also appreciated the comment about being behind and being careful about that! Thanks so much! From Ontario, Canada
This was super refreshing! Your house is so similar to mine with interruptions, losing your train of thought, telling kids to quit doing this or that. Thank you for posting!
Thank you for a very real look at homeschool. I am homeschooling 2 high schoolers, 2 middle schoolers, 2 lower elementary, and have a 2 year old wreaking havoc daily!
Do you break up the story of the world chapter? It was a bit much for my second grader, so then we switched to the Tuttle twins history but it’s equally as much information. Idk what to do 😅
I really enjoyed this - it’s just comforting I guess sharing a day in the life with another homeschool family! Appreciate the tips about staying on schedule for later grades - I messed up this year as far as budgeting and could Not get the resources I wanted to in time to start properly so now I’m scrambling using free resources: I’m only handling grade 1 So I shouldn’t complain but I’m upset with myself: next year I’ll be setting aside some of our tax return - if we hopefully get one lol.
in case you haven't already seen some of these free/inexpensive resources... - Progressive Phonics for reading - The old "All About Spelling" teachers manuals give guidance on how to go through all the lessons, and people are selling them used for cheap since there is an updated curriculum. The old one is still great. :) -Zearn Math -Khan Academy Kids App Good luck with your school year!

Oh I feel this 😂 these are my days. Thank you for this. The struggle is real but the rewards are unmeasurable.

Sounds fun! 😂
Yes! I can relate!
Love ❤️
This is such a great resource! I love getting an inside look at your day-it’s super helpful. Thanks for sharing! 😊
I find it helpful as well! I love her "realness"! And her willingness! ❤
I know you’ve mentioned Teaching Textbooks for math in more recent videos. When did y’all start that and would you recommend it over Math-U-See?
I'm worn out! I've said it bfor and I stand by it. You're truly amazing. Ty
I couldn't agree more! 😊
