Good video. I was gonna buy my son a new jersey, since he's outgrown the last one, but then he's only 10 so why spend on an authentic one if he's gonna outgrow it in 6-9 months. For kids the knockoffs actually make more sense. All those differences are pretty minute and really no-one would notice unless they're scrutinizing them like you just did.
What I started to do is that I started getting jerseys with decent fabric no matter the lettering. In Seattle the MLB sub-contracts smaller jersey shops so rather than going to the team store you can go to one of the smaller shops and have all the stitching, names and patches professionally done at a relatively cheap rate.
I wonder if SF has one. That would be nice…
Idk why people would care if its real or not. Show your colors and support the team. Anyone paying 200 for a jersey that will be outdated in a couple of years is dumb. Great video.

Yeah I usually buy the generic knock off jersey myself I do recommend though that you actually buy a size Bigger than you normally wear because You might want to layer of the jersey Wear a sweatshirt underneath it if you’re from a cold weather city
Thanks for the info. Buying from China looks to be the only way to get White Sox City Connect or Field of Dreams game jerseys because Nike insists on doing this artificial scarcity crap like with their shoes. By them not making these jerseys available, it saves me a bunch of money anyway.

The fold in the sleeve patch is always a dead giveaway for a Chinese knockoff. For people that don’t know what to look for it’s passable, but for people who own authentic and game issues/worn know what is real.

I got my fake Tatis home jersey and one of the big difference between the real and fake is the D in PADRES, the real one splits halfway across the jersey while the fake doesn’t…it just has the full letter D, subtle difference but still noticeable.

I got a knockoff (no a baseball fan) and just hope it includes the arm's patch and the name of the player, because in the photos wasn't showing LOL Probably because of the rights but again I hope they are included.
Bought the same tan one from Aliexpress but mine didn't come with an arm patch. I was looking at the mlb store and some of their jerseys didn't have arm patches either. I guess it just comes down to luck when you order from over seas.
i got gifted a Acuña Jr braves jersey for christmas from the teams shop in Atlanta and it didn’t have any patches on the arms either
They upgraded the nike swoosh it's still embroidered into the jersey but they put a stitch around it so it looks like a patch

Nah, I have the brown in a fake and authenfic. Authentic still has larger font. Authentic is much lighter, softer,buttons more secure and it's longer. Jerseys are just lighter and stronger tackle pattern along with kiss and cut lettering these days. Ironed twill as well. Its the difference between something engineered for actual play vs something older and heavier before much thought was put into how much the stitching can weaken the fabric.
I think the letter size is cuz San Diego has more letters than Padres
Could the smaller letters be because the fake jersey is an away style jersey, so they had to use smaller letters to fit "San Diego" on the front? How does it compare to a real away style jersey?

I just got my $30 Padre jersey and I see totally see the differences. I was turned off at first but after watching your video it's definitely worth $30 in comparison to something that cost $200+. I got mine on ebay and they were selling like hot cakes after they beat the Dogers haha.
I got the authenticate version and it has the breathable tail and arm pit area. Looks very good.

@@dialed2124 it took about 3 weeks. Thr fast shipping usually 5-7 days after thr package gets through customs. Thr problem is telling you how long it takes to get through customs. Sometimes it’s days, sometimes it’s weeks.

thanks for doing this but at 7:25 you compare the size of PADRES and SAN DIEGO but San Diego is smaller because that's how it is on the away jerseys. The PADRES on the home jersey is much bigger, so that has nothing to do with fake or real.

The S in tatis jr is also completely wrong font. Should be more rectangular with straight lines and and not as curvy. That’s the most obvious part that I can tell but the other letters look fine.

One note (from about 36 months later): If you want one that is player specific and a certain color, the price "jumps" to about $33, plus about $18 shipping.
A problem I had while looking for a sweet Reggie jersey (A's, in gold) was that the photos showed a pullover jersey, while the description stated that the shirt was button-down. Also, the size chart had Nike/Reebok measures, neither of which make the jersey you're buying so you kind of have to roll the dice a little on sizing.
By contrast, Fanatics is currently running an alleged 75% off sale, claiming that the $37 jerseys they're selling are usually $150. I say "allegedly" because I doubt these jerseys are ever not on sale. Regardless, the photos reflect the description and (12-15 day) shipping is $19, described as "China post/United States Postal Service." And the photos are larger and clear representations of what you're looking for. The button-down jersey in the photo was actually a button-down with piping that indicated that it was a button-down. The one on the other website was clearly a pullover and didn't have the proper piping to go alongside buttons. Fanatic also has one measure, not two measures from companies that do not make the jerseys to begin with.
I guess just based on Fanatic having a better web shopping experience, I would likely be more inclined to pay $56 for the Fanatic product than $51. I can't vouch for the jerseys because I haven't yet pulled the trigger on mine (a friend already ordered so I want to get that feedback first), but I just figured I'd throw another resource out there for folks shopping for a jersey.
Fanatics is notorious for being a cheap knockoff when it comes to sports jerseys. You’re really just better off getting a Chinese jersey because they actually try to replicate the real thing and do it well, Fanatics quality is low and you’re getting a product that isn’t Stitched or had enough care put into it at the same level as a knockoff

So i Just did an order, For some reason the credit card thing isn't available anymore. Legality wise I couldn’t tell you I’m not a lawyer. What I do know is they make the jerseys in house in China and then ship them to the states. Turn around time is 2-4 weeks. I just happened across the website through a Facebook group and have ordered ever since. I’ll be doing NFL and NHL from them as soon as the order arrives as well so stay tuned
The website is some sellers may not be, so always buy from sellers with a lot of transactions and reviews that’s how you can tell they’re pretty good
