What a wonderful present you're just right you only live once ! I'm 73 just got my self a 2023 500x honda had a1000 vstrom before that .good luck Alan Northern Ireland. 👍
The RD250 is a thing of beauty, I had the 250 RD LC in 1986 , micron pipes , ace bars , absolutely loved the Yamaha, I had an FS1E in the exact same colour as your RD , enjoy your bike mate
Happy Birthday !! , 2 years ago I repaired a mower to go to Victory Gardens in Poland where refugees from Ukraine had set up home and they needed allotments , I had to refer to various FB pages but yours was the one i had confidence in and I did the job on this battered old mower . I enjoyed it so much that I continued repairing mowers just for fun and i still do it and I am repairing strimmers as well now . Its not to difficult , just challenging enough for a retired engineer who still wants to tinker . Thanks for all the vids you have done and I am sure we will both be tinkering for along time yet , those that can ' do ' those that cant teach , you can do both , wish you and your family all the best .
Lovely bike and a well deserved 60th birthday present, yes definitely have to act swiftly, you snooze you lose as they say, i've missed plenty of bargains that way, Shame no one can't lend you a Reliant engine for the big day.
I would have that bike sat in the living room on display, very nice mate , and happy birthday, i recon you must have been 50 when I started following the channel
Ahh Martin don’t hammer yourself over the trotter van you could have started it a year ago and still encountered problems at the last minute and Jimmy knows your heart and will were in the right place ❤ Rosey
You loved a comment of mine i made years ago on your retrohax channel and im thinking to myself, I haven't watched you or commented in years! Im glad to see you are still going strong, from here on out i will be watching you as you still have interesting projects, you and the family take care.
Loved the RD’s back in the day - always wanted a 350LC - lovely colour mate and great looking pipes - look forward to seeing and hearing it on the road. I’ve just turned 60 need to get back on a bike
happy birthday bro im an old Mod so i bought myself a brand new Scooter for my 60th best thing i ever done, i cant wait to see that motorcycle of yours on the road good luck
Hey Martin - this made me smile - remember my first bike RD125 but it was actually the RD200 no one ever found out :-) funny old 2 strokes they can actually run backwards off the electric start - once in a while used to start mine no RPM but it was running clue is no RPM on the clock - funny oil pump on as well them think it was cable operated and oil used to be fed in to the inlet side of the carbs - might be wrong - thanks for the memories and enjoy your bile
I had 2 of these a few years ago both RD350DX same Kenny Roberts colours and they had one letter different on both bikes, sorty I sold them fetch good money now. Get a set of micron pipes if you can still get them.Lovely bike Martin
Nice bike, will you be finishing the other 2 motorcycles that are in bits before starting on this new project? This bike doesn't look like its needs a full restoration??
I had a gt250 when I was 17 I’d had a fizzy but fancied a Suzuki it finished up a 360 with the amount of time I rebored after blowing up . Now got a 1932 BSA a 1970 Bonneville and a super dream I turned into a bobber . Fancy another 2 smoker now I’ve seen yours 😂
Hi, I do like you video's, On all your channels. Please get that bike running, it's a chem, I had one back in the day, what a great bike, so was the fizzy 50.
Hi Martin. That bike is a good find. I have a 250D myself and fitted a Vape system. Its a good mod as the original system is pushing towsrds 50 years old. I would check the indian 350 cylinders. Some of them arent finished too well and need the transfer ports chamfering . Also the stud spacing and the angle of the exhaust flange is different to the 250D so you may want to check the fittings on your Lomas pipes will work . Good luck and enjoy. Look forward to seeing some videos on it.
I had the d model, blue bought it brand new 1 april 1978 cost me £750"" bank loan lol brilliant bike had some fantastic times with my mates . How we survived i will never know... enjoy 🎉
I had a few of them back in the day as they say, funny enough I have just brought a very ruff GS1000E as its my 60th in November and I had a GS when I was 17 so going to do a slow restor of it or I might customise it as I did to my original back in the 80's
Great present Martin love the RD250 , im 62 and built a Barry Sheene tribute bike you would love it if you saw it , keep us posted on your bike sounds like your going to do it proud

RD, wit a good Birthday present 😂. Had a while one when i first passed my test almost 40 years ago now 😮. I did the 350 conversion, seem to remember the pistons are slightly wider underneath, so the little end rattled about. Ended up shiming to stop the sideways movement of the bearing. Enjoy it fantastic bikes. 😊
wow that takes me back . thats identicle to the one i had in 1978 /9 , did you know thats the rd 400 paint scheme a special order for the 250 , the original 250 yellow was more sunflower yellow , love the pipes aswell it will look good with those on , hope you have a lot of good days out on it , ride safe 👍👍 please share the progress on it
