Thanks for the video. I got my duke 200 a year ago, I have been in love ever since. Plan on making some of my own videos as I just got a GoPro. Can't wait!
The $1000 phone can be perfect tool haha, music, flashlight, video or cameras to look in tight areas you can’t get your head, or in guess even help checking your oil 👍
It is very difficult to measure. When you move slightly to the right or left, there is a big difference in the minimum and maximum levels. It is impossible to know exactly whether the engine is running straight or not
few options 1. Buy a stand 2. Have someone hold it in correct position while you read the glass 3. Do it yourself, but keep a couple things in mind: leave your kickstand down in case your hand slips and bike falls that way... the kickstand will catch it., and if it falls the other way... youre on that side to catch it. Also know that when the bike seems to balance for a second if your grip is minimal and you can almost let go.. its centered on tire and bike is straight up and down... if your pushing or pulling on the handlebar with your hand thats holding the bike while your looking at the oil level its probably not centered
Depends on which maintenance you’re referring to, but you should be able to find them all in the owners manual. Ktm puts their own manuals online versus you a physical book. www.ktm.com/en-us/service/manuals.html
Do u run that duke 200 on dirt roads etc? Off-road at all ? I noticed the tires are upgraded to a slight off road tire? If so how does it do off-road? Thabks for any info
I’ve now sold the bike, but did occasional run some dirt roads and limited off road. It handled fairly well overall but obviously couldn’t get to crazy with the limited clearance.
Excellent how to video. thank you very much. I am considering the Duke 200 as my frst motorcycle. I wanted to know what the service manual recommends for the oil and filter change interval is, please? Thank you agab and wishing you many happy trails.
The oil was changed at my KTM service, but there is too much oil. When I check the engine oil in the morning, the indicator shows full oil, there is no gap.
If your checking it properly and its to high, and your nervous about adjusting, take it back and tell the place that preformed your service. They should adjust for free since their mistake. You can also buy a small hand pump that goes onto the top of an oil container. They are super cheap and look similar to the pump on top of a lotion or shampoo bottle. You can then pump some out from the fill cap (easier and cleaner then taking off your drain plug and trying to let some out that way).
Great breakdown, left me with absolutely zero questions. You are appreciated sir!
Glad to hear it! Thanks

No problem 👍

Yes, this bike has a strainer at the plug and the filter on the other side
my way of doing oil level check when I am alone... sit on bike and use cell phone to take picture while sitting bike level...

Oil capacity tell me
About 1.5, check to verify you didn’t over or under fill when completed.
Where i can find the oil and the filter
I purchased at the KTM dealer, but I’m sure you could order online
Just got a 2020 200 and am wondering, how often/what millage, should the maintenance be done? Thanks

Idk, you’d have to check into that

Drain a little bit out

is it normal if after short ride since the service the oil got black again?
Sounds like you probably didn’t get all the old out. A little left behind can turn the new dark
Whats yor tire bro?
