***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 2 new videos every week! Tuesday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

Wow you are such a good teacher! I feel so much more prepared to get started on this hobby after seeing this video! Thank you so much!
A sweet lady came to my house today because a tree fell on my house. When she went in back of my house she was enjoying my tomatoes plants, she lives in a townhouse never D.C. and wanted to start doing some pots with veggies. By the time she left I give her 4 tomatoe plants and 3 pepper plants. She was a happy lady and I really feel good about sharing in these times.
I guess you are very comfortable not wearing gloves ?
It's great to encourage people to garden who show an interest! It's also so generous of you to share your plants. I do the same in my neighborhood.
That's awesome! I'm sure she's enjoying the plants too! Good on you! It's fun to share and then share notes as to what soils work best for different plants.
@@joewallsmonsterhunte I don't wear gloves a lot. Sometimes going bare handed tells you things about your soil you wouldn't know otherwise. Wet soil, dry soil, clumpy soil all have a feel to them. After a while of soil testing and handling soil with your hands, you can stop the general tests, as you'll know how it feels. There are a few minerals that are still good to test for, but the major soil issues, you can grab some soil and know what you need to add right off. Then you can test for things like iodine, selenium, etc. And then adjust your additives (organic) accordingly.
That was very nice of you. I'm inspired.
You are so much fun to watch!! I’m 70 so I don’t do much but love watching you and your hubby!!! Thx 😊
My Mom started me out planting flowers when I was 5. This has been a very good explanation of how to plant! Very well done MIss. Very well done. Now I'm 61 my Mom is 93. She still cleans out her flower beds and pots just for the love of flowers. God Bless. OHIO
Kuge My mom did the same for me! I have the same love of flowers and excitement over getting the garden planted as she always did. I’m 51 and she’s 83 and she experimented with container planting last year and was so pleased with the results. She watches UA-cam and learned from Gardening with Leon how to use a wicking method. She’s excited that she doesn’t have to get on her hands and knees to weed.
God bless you beautiful lady @Kuge.
Yes we all know how to keep decorative plants ; flowers
Most apt dwellers wanting an inside garden; are referring to food.!!!!
And this video did not help needed info on grow lights and best inside ways to grow food inside an apt.@!!
That usuly are up in the sky,,
many floors up with no balcony for enough sun To grow.!!
Almost anyone knows how to keep a house plant for decorative purposes. !!
This was mostly a waste of time!
i know Im pretty randomly asking but do anyone know a good site to watch new movies online?
I am an experienced gardener, but I still enjoyed this. You are an excellent teacher and very thorough. You anticipated newbie fears and questions and if I could give this 2 thumbs up I would. Love your channel and sweet, Christian spirit.
Thank you Sarah for posting this video for new growers, I've been growing for 50 years and love watching you and Kevin farm cook grow store and more
My husband, daughter, and I are trying to become self-sufficient in providing our own vegetables, and your channel helps us so much. We always say, “We’ll, Kevin and Sarah told us to ...”. Thank you so much!
You are awesome Sarah! I have never learned so much about container gardening. Very clear and concise!
I use coffee filters on the bottom of my hanging and small pots. It allows for drainage and is biodegradable. ❤️
I love this idea! Was also thinking old cotton sheets cut up would work really well and also be biodegradable.
So do i
Skies Scott, I also use coffee filters so the soil doesn't leak out.
Great idea to use the coffee filters.
I use those big mineral containers along with my regular garden area and to keep them from getting even heavier than they already are I use recycled Styrofoam that i break into pieces and when I run out of that I use small tree branches because they will break down and add to the soil. Loved the video!
I recycle styrofoam pieces or peanuts by stuffing them into mesh onion bags. Tie them up and toss a few in bottom of pots. Lightweight and good drainage. When repotting, just rinse them off and re-use.
I also use my litter bottles of soda on the bottom of big containers.
Your such a great teacher!! I just know your homestead will prosper and do you well for a life time!!!
I so appreciate how in depth your educational videos are. I know a lot but I always manage to learn something from you. And both of you present as very real, human, entertaining but also incredibly professional. Your videos are smooth, enjoyable, interesting and informative.
I know you edit your videos, but it's lovely to watch, and listen to, videos that feel like a real conversation and aren't full of awkward cuts, stammering, repetitiveness, and are visually lovely, in focus, and clearly show what it is you're showing us..
So thank you for taking the time to do all of this for us.
I'm glad your daughter has healed so well.
Looking forward to more.
And yes, I do love watching the ducks leave their house in the morning!
I love it when Sarah does the hammering, drilling, driving the tractor, etc. She's an inspiration to women who might otherwise be intimidated by using tools. My ex-husband's biggest complaint was that I had better tools than he did...lol...It's true too. Women tend to take care of their tools better also. Don't be afraid ladies (and gents) plus most of the hardware stores will be happy to help you learn how to use them. Some of the bigger box stores even offer classes.
The tools have always been mine! My birthday is around Father's day, which makes for interesting conversations with sales clerks. Hubby was buying something one year and wanted it wrapped for my bday and the clerk didn't believe it wasn't for him! LOL
Sarah rocks!
I didn't know they had classes! Hmm... I may need a fork lift and other equipment down the road... Thanks! I may have to check that out!
@@CarolReidCA Forklift is completely different. You need specialty training for that. If you work in a warehouse environment, some employers will pay to train you themselves. I live in Canada and in most places you need to have a license to operate a forklift or order picker, etc. Hardware stores like Home Depot offer one day or weekend courses on everything from tiling to fence building. Usually they have a schedule posted and you just sign up. I believe they offer these courses free. Check out your local hardware store and ask... Good luck :)
So excited you did this video. I follow several gardeners seasonally. I only have a patio garden. Grew tomatoes one time 3 seasons ago. Last year I grew tomatoes, 2 types. 3 peppers, herbs and different flowers. I started an avocado tree in a bag of soil, and did a container bin of blue kale and spinach for winter. I got the "bug", for growing my own food. Love your show.
Sarah you are an amazing teacher! Thanks for the information.
The drill bit that you’re using is called a paddle bit. The big tubs you’re using to plant in are great for self wicking pots which work great. You fill them up every two to three days. They hold five inch’s of water in the bottom. I think that’s from gardening with Leon on UA-cam
I bought that 1/2 inch and 1 inch drill bit earlier this week to do just what you did, drill holes in my planters. It was so much fun. I hope my blueberries make it. I love watching you and Kevin. I also enjoyed hearing Hope in the background. God Bless! Carmen
People in apartments could use coffee filters over the holes in the bottom of the pots.
A very BIG thanks!
Great suggestion. I'm going to try that in my hanging baskets.
Lisa Bruce yes coffee filter work great 👍
Great tip and try to use those not bleached if possible.
Or newspaper!! A thick enough layer would last a season and by the time it is gone, the soil will be 'in place' and unlikely to spill out all over the place.
Thank you guys for the video. It's my birthday today and I love watching your video's! !!!!
Happy birthday.
Same here happy bday to you and me have a good day
Thank you!
Happy Birthday to both of you!
Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your day!
This was a seminar! Articulated to perfection. I would use this video to teach beginners to expert. Thank you for this episode it was awesome 👏
THANK YOU AND YOUR SISTER! Been wanting to grow some type of veggies in pots instead of flowers since we don’t have much room on our porch’s for pots....... that saying, flowers are “food” for my soul too, so I want to try to do both. We’re older folks so money is also a important aspect on how much we can do. We love watching your channel, you guys work so hard and yet you seem to care about teaching all of your viewers how to make food better for us as well as.more economical. Thanks again Sara and Kevin, we love you.
Sarah & I have 2 things in common - gardening without gloves & using your finger as a moisture meter
This channel always does a good job with tutorials...Thank you for all the extra effort.
Good lesson, Sarah! God bless your family!
You are a great teacher!😁
Love your videos! Sara, you would make a wonderful best friend!😊❤️
Cute and informative video. Thanks for the variety of videos you and Kevin provide. Love to watch you while getting ready for work.
That is so sweet of you to make this for your sister and anyone who is apartment locked and unsure how to start ❤️🌱💚 it's important to have planted and failed then not planted at all!!!!
The kindness you express . A purpose of helping others is admirable.
Enjoyed your pot container suggestion and drainage specific which hoed along with average common sense. Most all of us have a window plant.
We are needing to produce food!!!
Being an Apt dweller at this time; I was waiting for you to emphasize and suggest. Best plants to grow inside.
Most Apts. Do not have balconies and the majority are 2nd and 3rd floors etc
Also suggestions of indoor growth lights
To me all that you shared was general common sense; but did not address the needed issues; to have an indoor ; inside and apt. Container garden;; ( inside ; indoors is the norm for most apt dwellers that do not have ideal growing environment.( limited SUN)( no mention of suggested plants ( least 1) that require s. ;;little sunlight from a window; sometimes one might get a lot of sun; it is usually random.
So ; this video falls short; almost waste of time for what was first i insinuated !!!
Thankyou for caring and your endeavors.
I expected some real resolve. ;; INDOOR GROWING. FOOD; NOT JUST HERBS AND SEASONING
I'm so late watching this video from you. I absolutely love watching and learning from your family. You folks are so informative and casual like talking to your neighbor with some tips while sitting on porch. Thank you so much
Thanks for all your tips and tricks. I feel honored to be invited to your farm so often.🥰🥰🥰🥰
Sarah, thank you for a wonderful video this morning. I am smiling because I am a woman who also likes to get her hands in the soil. I'm always digging it out from beneath my fingernails. Gardening helps me so much with driving away the seasonal depression. I am so inspired and I have lots of pots to fill. Now if it will just stay warm here in East Central Illinois I can get started. Today it is back to cold and rainy after 70 degrees yesterday. Have a wonderful day!
Just noticed you guys are almost to 300k!!! Way to go!!!
"Handel that drill like a pro Sarah",
Kevin'll be turning you loose with a nail gun next.
Y'all are such an inspiration!
"TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS"!!!
Contains are my only option. Thank you for helping me improve my growth. 💖
The 99 Cents Only Stores have a lot of containers. You can sometimes get free ones from people who plant shrubs and trees too! Cat litter pans are great for lettuce! Don't forget to drill some holes!
I drill several holes on the sides of pot not on the bottom. In the south pots will dry out quickly if you drill in the bottom and you have to water more often .it probably depends on your location.
Yep, you could make "self watering" containers by putting the holes several inches up from the bottom. I make mini- hugelkulturs by putting cut tree limbs and brush from around the property before I put the soil in. It retains moisture and feeds the plants.
@@mountainryder8 I did the same thing this year to save on dirt and to try out hugelculture in pots.
S Chandler very clever. Thank you for the idea
Same. Here in Australian summers (and spring, and autumn, and hey, winter too, here in the northern end of Aus) pots dry out within hours. Also: invasive grass. It would grow straight through the bottom!! I make all my pots wicking pots, and if it already comes with holes, I add cut down milk containers or other waste plastic vessels in the bottom to create reservoirs. As long as three quarters of the top portion of soil is not sodden, roots are happy. Glad someone else pointed that out- not all conditions are the same!!
I put the holes about 3" up side so holds water to let dirt soak it up.
Thank you for encouraging us, God bless!
Thank you so much Sarah for his video, I think I can do this and will give it a try...I have stray cats outside so not sure how to keep them out of the pots, but I'd so enjoy planting some herbs, or flowers, or green beans, I know you don't have a lot of time to answer everyone's posts, but wanted to say, I'm learning so many very helpful tips from you. Thank-you!!!!! God guide you and your family.
Excellent info Sarah. One other tip, most any livestock manure that comes out of the animal in pellets, specifically goats, alpaca and llama is safe to put right on the garden, no composting necessary. This old Maine fahmah is loving your channel. Keep up the good work.
@ DiggahKit ,
You forgot rabbits which are far easier to keep inside of your house than goats.
I use broken terra cotta pot pieces to cover the holes. Or a rock.
What I like about Sarah and Kevin is that they realize that not everyone lives on a homestead, probably most of their 300,000 viewers don't, but that a lot of what they teach can be adapted to most environments.
@ Becky Kukoski ,
The secret here is to change , experiment and adapt.
I love this Sarah!!! I started peas in the bottom of milk jugs! First thing I ever planted! They sprouted just a couple days ago and I was like a little kid on Christmas! My son has built me a few raised beds and I have soil being delivered next Thursday! Tomorrow will be MORE seed starting! I can not wait to pluck a tomato off a plant and slice it for grilled burgers! You and Kevin are such an inspiration!
For smaller pots cut up cellulose sponges and use whole sponges for the large one. Prevents soil loss and turns them into self watering pots
If you don't have alot of light (like a north facing patio)... placing anything "white" behind a plant will reflect any available light to assist the plants. Cardboard, white paint, white shower curtain... really helps. Mint, Parsley, Green Onions and Basil all do wonderful in hanging baskets too.
yess; yes can all live off eating cooking seasoning herbs
The way you guys teach us how to plant and how to cook I love it, you cooking sections are awesome don't know which one I like more the planting or the cooking videos ,I think the cooking because I'm a 70-year-old cuban lady not easy for me to follow people but I can follow you both I love it thank you and God bless you
Thank you. Takes the intimidation out of container gardening.
You can also keep it even cheaper by going to thrift stores and buying old storage bins, laundry baskets and old bed sheets. That is what I’m doing this year. Drilling holes in the bins and using the bed sheets to line them and the baskets. The clear bins can be used as a “greenhouse “ and once it gets warm enough use them as a container.
lol, I used a old toilet and drum set this year.....
I love old kiddy pools!! Especially as people love to dump them once they crack, so you can get them for FREE, woohoo!! Really good for growing the 'bigger' crops, like sweet potatoes and pumpkins, in small courtyards or balconies.
Good idea! How do you find the kiddie pools?
@@jewelofwisdom8279 Here in my city in Australia, we have this thing called kerbside clean up. You can dump whatever needs chucking when it's your turn, and the council comes around and collects it. They do one neighbourhood at a time across our city, and we are ALWAYS in March, which is the end of the summer months, and there is inevitably one sitting on the verge somewhere around me that I can drag home. I can look up what suburb is about to be done if I am after something any other time of year, and just drive there. You can get great stuff- furniture, pots and pans, toys, exercise equipment, building supplies, anything that people don't want, it's there to be chucked, and it's open season for anyone that wants to pick something up. I suppose if you don't have anything like that, just advertise on your local gumtree-like site and offer to pick up and take them away for nothing- someone will take you up on that!! And if all else fails, a hard plastic kids pool at my local is only about $10- I just really prefer free, hahahaha.
Jewel of Wisdom I’m using an old one that my kids and dogs used. You can ask on social media if anyone has a broken one hanging around. I have also repurposed an old desk and used a wooden shipping container that was left at my husbands work. I have also sewn left over weed barrier into grow bags. (Found a video on UA-cam for that) Just try and keep it as cheap as possible, filling all the containers can be costly. But the amount of food you can grow will save you in the end
I fertilized my nasturtium after painting them in brand new potting soil last year and they died off. Then I read that they LOVE old, used-up soil. They thrive in old parking lots and baseball fields! This year I planted them in my zinnia soil from last year. Hoping for the best! Thanks for the great video!
Look up scarification on seeds. (rub them with a file)
Yes, I did that. They all sprouted and came up, but the soil was so healthy that they stunted and didn't ever grow past about 4 inches.
I wanted to thank you for your videos on gardening. They have been so informative and are a pleasure to watch. I placed a "curb-side-pick-up" order with Home Depot last night for some soil/compost & woven weave fabric that I'll be picking up tomorrow. I'm so excited to maybe finally get a handle on these weeds! I've been so discouraged the past few years with my small weed-filled backyard garden. This is the perfect year to get back at it. Thank you :)
I noticed 46 people gave a thumbs down. Wow, what losers would give a thumbs down to something and someone so positive. I love your videos Sarah,! Your an inspiration! ♥️
Thank you so much. Always need a refresher in planting in pots. I wasn't sure on how often to water my seeds and you answered that for me. Your channel has the answer for everything!!
Thank you. This was the most information i've had about planting in pots. Excellent teacher.
Happy for your delish garden food.
But please understand d this video was suppose to be for apt dwellers
; most of whom live in high rise;; in the sky;;apts.dwellers
With NO BALCONY
NO. PORCH
OFTEN NO SUNLIGHT.
SO WHERE iARE THE GROWING. light SUGGESTIONS!!.
And suggestions of food bearing plants that require little light etc.
It was first stated that this video was requested by and For her sister: who asked for it;; because she is an apt dweller.. ( i guess she lives in an I(DEAL APT.)
This is an excellent video to watch for those interested in growing in containers! Thank you so much for sharing your incredible wealth of knowledge with us on this subject!
This video is so timely. I have decided to use containers for some vegetables due to my incredibly rocky soil. Thank you!
I generally plant flowers in my hanging pots, but this year since I can’t get out to the store and my strawberries spread way beyond my tower I planted lots in hanging pots planters and around the edge of my big pots that have bigger plants (gooseberry, jostaberry, a cherry tree etc, in the middle.
Wonderful idea, Carol! They also have tomatoes that you can plant in hanging baskets. They’re calling “tumbling” varieties. I am planging both red and yellow Tumbling Tom that way this year.
Thank you thank you. My landlord just did a 2x16 foot strip *tilled* and gave us 25 5 and 10 gal buckets so I can garden. This video was a huge help. 🥰
Lots of great info. Keep us posted on the growth in these pots.
I love all the background sounds of your farm. Thanks for the info. Love it!
I love everything about this video! I am itching to get some seeds and plants in. I love the background sounds iin the video also 💕. Makes my heart yearn for the country. 😊
Yes .we l yearn for country. But this is suppose to e for apt dwellets..without usuallly country optkon. And a garden. We think of ad food . ( tell me about vrowth livhts and what ki d of foof bearing pkanys to pkany thay wr can eat. Most of uzhave no balconird . Wr ate up in tbe sky.
There is no purposed focus on this in this video. Totally mostly a waste of time for Areal apt dweller!!. We lknow how to keep a house plant.no.t foodbearing.most require vety little window sun light.
We WANT TO GROWFOOD ... THAT WHAT WE ARE INTETESTED IN..thankyou
How good does it feel to get your hands into great soil? Ahhhhh it’s the best 🐝🌿🍓🥬🌻🌺🌶🥗. Great video. Thank you 😊
Great instruction, you make an excellent teacher. Thanks.
Thank-you Sarah, this was helpful to me, and encourages me to do some plant tubs on my patio. Health and God's blessings to you and your loved ones!
Awesome video for beginners! And just enjoyable to watch and refresh your knowledge for everyone else! Good job for bringing quality content and relevant topics in a time when we need it.
Love all ur videos blessings to you and your family and Peace
Thank you so very much. Something good is going to happen today Amen 🙏
I've planted my tomato seeds this last week and I put some non slip fabric that you use for drawer liners for non skid in the bottom. The water gets thru the little holes and yet it doesn't pour out nor does any soil eek out. It's working so far. I also put it in some houseplants I re-potted and it's working great!
Sarah this is great! I have that on my agenda tomorrow for containers for my herbs. This timing you had was perfect!
Blessings, stay healthy and I love to watch you and Kevin our your journey. Great Stuff..and the recipes are yummmmm excellent!!!
I have a porch garden. I have already harvested lettuce. Tomatoes are blooming along with the squash. Pepper plants looking good. Enjoy your videos
Thank you Sarah, I live in an apartment and think I'm going to try these tips!
This video was so helpfull, growing a few herbs and plants this year on my balcony. Parsley and shives are doing really great already! now need to get more pots so my balcony will be green all over! Hope you all stay healthy and safe!
Great video, Sarah. I hope your sister has good luck with her pots after watching it. We all always learn things we didn't know when watching your informative videos.
Mineral pots make great self wicking container make life so much easier. Also root pouches are awesome also
Oh My Sarah just the video I longed for. Thank you so much.
We recently planted tomatoes In buckets, drilled five small holes in bottom, used compost but did not mix in. Soil, compost, soil in that order. No drainage rocks etc.
Tomato plants looking good so far.
I like the way you said to test the soil when should water. 5 gallon bucket 1 tomato plant in each.
Hopefully will produce-will keep you updated.
I Love you and Kevin so sweet and
Awesome topic! We lived in an apartment for years and I grew a lot of food for our family on a small balcony. Grow what you can, where you can! One way to get the larger pots is to approach a nursery. They often sell or give away damaged/used nursery pots. There are other techniques that use buckets from Lowe's, Home Depot or even former food buckets (frosting comes in these 5-gallon buckets, also hit up a local bakery).
Best video about this topic ever! Thank you guys for all your efforts. Hi from Australia 🇦🇺
As I’m getting ready to plant vegetables in pots for the first time, this is sooooo appreciated!
Are you goi g to need grows lights for growing food indoors apt that had no BALCONY ony;;..no porch;; h a nd often no sunlight direct ??
I just found The New Pioneer magazine and read the article about you. All this time, I didn't know your last name! Great article, great teachers. Thanks for all the wonderful information.
I was on looking for a new one and in 2 secs it was removed..haha..I wanted to let you know God has blessed me so much by finding not only you and Kevin but the farm noises are just so peaceful thank you!
Oh yes I just wanted to tell you I’m getting rabbits not for food but for the fact that you suggested that was incredible fertilizer now I cannot only get the rabbits for cuteness but for their Pooh I love you guys stay safe and stay out of trouble😃
Sarah, that was excellent!! You gave such good tips. Thank you, sweet peeps! ❤️❤️❤️
Back in the day when I would plant in containers, I used coffee filters over the holes. And to further aid in drainage, I would use a layer of crushed soda cans on the bottom of the pot. This was also helpful in the larger containers cutting down on weight (easier to move if needed) and requiring less potting soil.
I hear my 8 year old say to his brother, "They are my favorite homesteaders." Without me paying attention to their conversation, I had just turned on your video. He looks at the TV, *Eyes get big* "Ah! There they are!" Lol Out of the many homesteaders we watch, you guys truly are our favorite!
That is so sweet! Thank you so much!
Thank's for doing this. Like you said a lot of people just aren't sure about how to do it. Great easy info, done with a smile. Stay safe and healthy. God bless
Good morning. Thank you for teaching us ❤️. Have a great day. God bless
Thank you for sharing! I had tried gardening in pots many years ago. Pots gave me the raised gardening that I wanted, better/lighter soil, and an easier way to control weeds. I had cherry tomatoes and green peppers the first year. Well, I should say that I almost had cherry tomatoes. I couldn't understand why I had green tomatoes that were beginning to ripen but when they should have been ripe and ready for picking, they suddenly were gone! I thought the birds were getting to them until I saw my dog very carefully selecting the ripened tomatoes never damaged the plants nor knocking off the green ones! She left the green peppers alone. Each year afterwards, I had poorer yields. The tomatoes would rot on the vine (blossom rot?) and the green pepper plants were being devoured by bugs. I tried a few other veggies, but without any success. I eventually gave up and the pots were then filled with flowers. After watching your video, I want to start all over again, completely dumping out the soil and start from the bottom up! Thank you for giving me the encouragement to try again! My cherry tomato picking dog passed away last year and I don't know if my current dog would eat the tomatoes off the vine. He tends to like certain types of grasses!
Thank you Sarah! I have never had success in growing anything. It’s like they come home and scream in terror and commit suicide within a week. My mom could always grow things really well and I’ve been sad my plants die. You have inspired me to try again. You’ve given me lots of needed information. Thanks again!
This is now giving me confidence to start my own herbs.
Thank you so much for the information and encouragement. This is my first year gardening veggies from kitchen scraps (store bought and regrowing) and seeds.. I currently have about 15 different fruit, veg and herbs on the go.
I have a container garden and a raised bed garden, on an acre plot, and mostly raised up because I have bermuda grass! ugh! and BINDWEED! Oh My Gosh! BOTH? UUGGHH! Yeah, I started building raised beds two years ago with 2x4's and sheets of tin, and they went on top of used signs. I contacted a guy that owns a sign company, basically thick tarps with advertising on one side. Great way to stop the climbing weeds and grass. Thank you for the info! Love your channel, praying for many blessings upon you and your farm!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I learned why my container garden didn’t do well...I didn’t have enough drainage holes, and not the right soil.... great and very easy to understand 😀😀😀😀I will keep trying
If you don't have a greenhouse, can you give some suggestions about how to harden your plants from inside to outside? That would be awesome! Thanks for your dedication to teaching others!!
Can't wait to see what these look like in a month or two!
Thank you for tips!
I’m in my seventh decade. I’m going to grow some containers in an unused (and relocated) dog kennel.I’m going to put them on chairs or supports to get them up higher to be kind to my back.
The deer on our property have prevented us from gardening the last few years. I’m excited to try “containers in a cage” gardening.
Great job Sarah, found this interesting and helpful. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Thank you for this video. I am trying to grow in containers for more growing space. Found this very useful!
I use a dish rag in the bottom of mine.
That can work in some places and with some soils, but it can mold too. Might try those plastic scrubber ball-like things or onion netting.
I use hanging baskets on the side of my chicken run to grow whatever extra I have from the garden- lettuce, edible flowers, kale. Just tear a handful and toss it into the run for the chickens snack! they love it!
Thank you so much for this video. I’m growing in grow bags this year. I love them. Can’t wait to see how my plants do.
I love doing containers! Your video was great I do flowers and veggies I have plenty of ground but choose this way I also ordered raised bed kits so that should be fun also! Thanks Sara!
Sarah a lot of information you shared with us. Thank you so much.
I have added so many molasses tubs to grow in this year. Love using them for my raised beds.
Thank you SARA, Great video, say hi to KEVIN and the GIRLS. GOD BLESS.
Great video as always...I shared for family and friends who don't have land and also those that say "I can't grow anything"...
