alchemy ceramic, i recently deleted instagram off of my phone because i wasn’t actually talking to people and only watching short, bad quality videos that were ruining my attention span. your work is so beautiful and mesmerising that i can’t help but watch the entire process and pause when i’m busy just so i don’t miss a second of your lovely process. thank you for being so precise with the instructions and providing nice, detailed footage. you are a joy in the world :)
Woooo〜〜〜🥰🥰🥰 Thanks you so much! Your comment encourages me a lot. Video making is quite lonely time consuming work. So when I receive the comments which have descriptions of viewers side of enjoyment I feel so happy and rewarding. Thank you for leaving the comment ❤️
wowwwww i love this so much.... beautiful pieces and the concept is great! never thought of it! i love the strainers, really want to try this one day. amazing job!!!
Thank you Gardenia😊. I love your Icon! This pot is super useful. Please try.
Great video which includes many details. I think to make a lid above the strainer will make it even more perfect. 😊
Thank you for your comment 😊 Good idea! and good challenge too!
I really enjoy watching you work, seeing your ideas come to life, and enjoy listening to you so eloquently!
Thank you for your encouraging comment 😊.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas and skills.
Thank you for watching Jane😊
I should drink more loose leaf tea, and this is a great idea. I wonder how to make the hole not too big and accounting for shrinkage so that the leaves stay in the strainer - yours are perfect. :)
Thank you for your question 😊 My tea leave is large so 5 mm drill bit is fine. So how about starting from 4 mm drill bit. You need to check the hole after the glazing. Please make sure the holes are not filled.
So happy to watch your new video ! I finally made a one piece lidded jar! ❤ I also love the texture on your handles.
Nice to hear from you Rebecca😊 Great news! You made ONE PIECE! I hope it was a fun! The handle texture is my standard one. Maybe I demonstrated in the Jug video.
Excellent project and teacher
Thank you for your comment 😊
I love your work . Thank you very much for sharing !
Thank you for your comment 😊. It is pleasure to share my experience with all other potters in the world .
Thanks for sharing! I always learn something new. Your studio cat is so frisky!
Thank you for watching 😊. I try to keep her out from the studio but this Ninja cat sneaks in very well 😅
Big fan of the cat. She's super cute!
Thank you for this video. I love your cat.
Thank you for watching 😊. My cat make me laugh a lot:)
Thank you for showing the finished pieces. Lovely. Are the white spaces glazed? If so, how did you glaze those spaces?
Thank you for your question Linda😊. The white spaces are unglazed. If I want to glaze these parts I will use spray glaze.
thank you for perfect explained details again !!! ❤
Thank you for watching Gabriela😊
Thanks for your videos, I really enjoy them. How do you glaze the strainer holes so they do not close up with glaze? Do you wax the inner holes?
Thank you for your comment 😊 I glaze the holes also. The closed holes are opened by small screw drill bit. Those mugs are popular items for present.
@AlchemyCeramic Thanks for your response! Just to make sure I understand - you drill through the holes after glaze firing to re-open them?
Not after firing. When you glaze the bisque if the hole is closed I use screw or drill bit to poke the hole rather than a needle. The needle push the glaze and then the glaze comes off too much and leaves unglazed part. If I use very thin drill bit by hand to poke through the closed hole, I can scrape little glaze easily and the hole appears. After glaze firing , making the hole is too hard work. It will break the pot so please do it before firing. I hope my explanation is understandable 😅
@ Yes, that makes sense, I understand. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the video, I started pottery recently and this is very inspiring. What's the round metal tool that you're using at 9:30? I've been having problems with my pots jumping around when trimming
Thank you for your comment Oliver😊. It is a trimming spinner. it is made by two discs and a bearing between. When I trim many pots I need this to save my finger. You can purchase on line and very reasonable price.
Great tips and solutions!
Thank you Jenny😊
Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you for watching
Thank you for sharing! How many grams of clay do you use for the strainer?
Thank you for your question Stephen😊. I forgot to mention in the video! It was 200g.
really nice, I will try this for a present for a friend
Thank you for your comment Heidi.😊 Your friend is very lucky!
