You do an awesome job of promoting your sponsors in a way that isn't Fn annoying. Great vid, nice fillet, thanks for sharing the wormy bits and how you handled them.
Beautiful day! I must say, your filleting skills are right up there on the same level with your fishing skills brother! Thanks for another wonderful video! 😉♥
Yeah I have two. I just didn’t have it rigged and ready to go so I vented that little grouper. It swam down but who knows what happens 300 ft back down. Next time I’ll use the sea equalizer. Tbh I wasn’t to confident to actually get a grouper.
I use to fish the gulf of Maine . 300 + feet of water was normal ! I used a jig because it sucked when the bait would fall off on the way down or small red fish would pick you clean ! Plus cranking 20 oz sinkers up several times got old fast !
I must have missed a couple of your videos because I haven't seen one in several weeks. Nice video. The orange colored snapper was cool, as were the others of course.
Rich Does Daiwa sponsor the reels you use or is it your top choice for spinning reels? I remember you used to use Tsunami reels specifically the Evict models... Tight lines my friend!
No I don’t work with daiwa on a sponsored level. They sent me a couple reels and there are a couple that I really like. The bgmq is way better than the Tsunami evicts. I used the evicts a lot back a few years because they sent me some to fish with. 1 out of 10 tsunami evict is a 5. Daiwa BGMQ I would say is an 8. A little more money but a better reel.
Rich, I love your videos bud. One of my pet peeves is with your boat. YOU HAVE SO MUCH STUFF ON THE DECK OF YOUR BOAT!!! Watch the serious Florida guys, there’s no ropes or bumpers on their deck. The deck of the boats are clean, everything is in its place. There’s no random coolers sitting on the deck, no orange waterproof boxes or tackle boxes sitting out. Just an observation buddy.
They also aren’t filming at all or as much as I do. I like to have all my camera gear and fishing gear at a quick arms length. The orange box has my battery charger in it to keep the GoPro batteries charged. In addition, the GoPro cameras over heat almost every hour. It happens very often when I’m fighting a fish. BUT. One way to keep the camera rolling is I quickly reach in to that orange box and grab a cold battery. Stick it in the camera and continue filming. If I had to go into a hatch every time I’m fighting a fish to grab a cold battery I would probably lose more fish and it would be even more of a pain in the butt. I fish a lot for various different species in the kayak, boat, or wade and surf fishing. Sometimes I’m in a rush I just throw everything on and go. A lot happens behind the scenes. Thanks for watching and I’ll try to more organized. My wife will probably help with that soon 😂
Hey rich just a heads up bc I know the area your in, you must use a descending device on all deep water groupers and tiles with at least 16oz and 60feet of line. Also if you wanna test out the electric I’ve got a 1000 tanacom you can use and see how you like it.
Oh cool, thanks for the heads up. I have seaequlizer but I didn’t have it rigged up so I vented the fish. I thought you just had to have either one on board.
@@FishAholicTV no while deep dropping it must be hooked up ready to go, every other species it doesn’t matter but the snowy groupers and tiles is specific about it! Those are the direct words from fwc for our area
@@FishAholicTV thanks for the info......was down your way last week and fished tuesday and thursday..........windy crappy days but caught plenty of snook and hooked one tarpon. out of sandsprit park.
Where did you get those sinker clips? It looked like you clipped it straight to your line. Been wanting to try those out. Most of the Almaco's we catch are 3 to 5 pounds. Usually they are free of worms at that size. You still salvaged a good bit of meat off of that almaco. Those clusters of worms are gross but those isolated ones you pulled out I usually don't mind them at all.
Went to Plymouth Ma for Stripers and it was my first time getting skunked in many years. Back to my bread and butter of the lower cape and RI area lol!
How long did it take you to get used to conventional reels i am left hand reel so its weird. I am asking bc i just lost a good fish bc i dont know how to use them
I believe it is because of their diet. I’m not sure why they are prone to worms more than like tuna. I’d imaging offshore they probably eat similarly. But tbh I really don’t know.
Something about eating fish that contain worms that is just a little unappetizing even if you do cut out the bad parts. I used to work at a fish counter in Portland, Maine and some of the fish had worms, especially the cod.
When your reel them in from 300ft. The last 200ft is like reeling in a boot. I have to figure out how to catch them jigging. It would be way more sporty and fun. I would rather do that.
Be careful with state vs federal. Once far enough offshore I think it’s 3 or 9 miles in Florida Atlantic mangos are 12 inches instead of 10. Yours was still legal though
My buddy Nate didn’t take any of the fish because he was going on a trip. I had more than enough for the week for myself. And with the approaching storm I wasn’t to worried about getting every single scrap.
Love the videos and the content, but you are getting a little too commercial with ads and sponsors and pushing products. I know losing one viewer won't matter to you, but thank you for past, fun videos.
you're such a hater lmfao. Bro takes the time to make fishing his career so we can enjoy watching. Obciously he needs income from it.. Plus he plugs us discounts for badass gear. Dumbest complaint I've ever seen
Sunday morning coffee and a Fishaholic video, and I'm good.....
I know...love it
Exactly!!
Same
long day of fishing then a fishaholic video brother 🤘🤘
Awesome!! Thanks so much for tuning in!!!

I really enjoy these underwater shots.
Great adventure, yuck on the worms….
Perfect day on the water.
Thanks for bringing us along.
Cheers
Watch your vids all the time Rich, i live in Cornwall UK and just purchased a buffalo bag really great to keep your catch fresh .
Awesome!! Glad to hear!! I hope you can put it to good use!!
Love the cooler bag. I do a lot of kayak fishing and one of these would be perfect.
Awesome, I think it would be too!!
I was expecting the Canada striper video, but any fishaholic video is amazing
Coming soon!! I have a lot of work to get done!!!
@@FishAholicTV no rush bro. I’ll be here 😂

Thanks so much! I’m ok! Probably not as good as a sushi chef haha. Some of those guys are amazing.
so cool to watch videos from someone who lives in the same city as me, feel like i learn a lot every video
Awesome, I’m glad to hear!!!
just ordered a buffalo bag, good deals on them, certainly affordable, especially with the discount
Rich you should check out those descending devices. They’re basically boga grips that will release at preset depths.

Haha yeah my buddy tried jigging but he didn’t have any bites. Maybe his braid was too heavy so it was hard for him to feel bottom with a 200g jig.
@@FishAholicTV I use a 20 oz jig in water that deep and the tide's running .

Almaco is very good. Usually the ones under 8lbs are worm free.
Ohhh ok next time I’ll keep a smaller one. It was still tasty!!

@@FishAholicTV I had no idea they went up that far north! Good stuff Rich! I’ll be down in Fl this October for some new species for me lol
Great video as always rich
Thanks so much!!
Snowy grouper is by far the best eating fish in the ocean.
That little thing didn’t last long on my plate.
Nice video, nice catch bro
Thanks so much!!
Why do saltwater reels not have a mechanism that goes back and forth so you dont have to move the line with your thumb?
Almaco tastes better than amberjacks, specially the smaller ones. Try doing ikejime sometime.
Cool, thanks for the information. Tight Lines! 🎣
How long did it take you to get used to conventional reels i am left hand reel so its weird. I am asking bc i just lost a good fish bc i dont know how to use them

Thanks Mike as always!!
I am with you. I know the worms wont hurt you to eat neither will earthworms but that does not mean I want to eat them.
Hahaha yeah they don’t look tasty. 👀
so good
Thanks so much!!!
A i saw a technique to bleed air from a fish thru the mouth with a tube...less evasive
Oh ok interesting I’ll look into it.
Snowy grouper. ?
Yeah it was.
Something about eating fish that contain worms that is just a little unappetizing even if you do cut out the bad parts. I used to work at a fish counter in Portland, Maine and some of the fish had worms, especially the cod.
Yeah I’ve caught many cod with worms!!
A cooler seems so much more convenient
Yeah but I have a small boat. My 115qt cooler takes up a lot of deck space.
You actually said it's not fun reeling in fish . Dude

From my understanding if you catch the small ones out on grass those are way better tasting than the ones you catch out deep
Ohhh ok cool 👌🏻
Bigger Boat = Bigger 🐟 😊
Hahaha one day maybe.
Sick!
I know you don't like the worms. When you cook the fillets, the spaghetti worms become part of the meat.
They are harmless. Ask Landshark!
Haha ok 👌🏻 next time I’ll text Victor and ask if he wants the worm cut 😂
It would be interesting to see you saltwater fly fish off shore
Yeah I’ll have to try one day!!! Maybe for mahi mahi
Rich when u coming back up to NJ or montauk? Need a striper vid lol 😂

@@FishAholicTV thanks man love the channel! The growth you’ve gotten is well deserved
These worms are delicious.
Hahahaha ok
The worms are harmless to us humans. Keep the next smaller one u catch. Most smaller almacos are rlly good and have no worms.
Cool thanks for the heads up!
Rich wearing a giant “69” on his hat now lol
Worms= nope, even with removing them, nasty
Haha gotcha!!
You're already almost to corporate to watch. A electric reel is a deal breaker
Haha ok thanks for your feedback.

Fish worms are disgusting. No way I'd cook and eat that.
Nope not everyone. If make a video with a electric reel count me out , won't ever watch it 😊
