Iron Mark I'm sorry sir but it's the Internet there's only cat videos and pornographic videos by the way as a blacksmith I really appreciate the detail explanation
When he said, "People pay a lot of money for this stuff. Near enough wont do." That made me smile. It's great to see someone take that pride in their work and set that standard for themselves without being told by the customer. Too many people are lacking that work ethic these days. When it comes to manual labor at least.
And now we know the armorer was a partial scam. Super delayed deliverance, an armour totally out of spec, ignoring most of what Lloyd wanted and did his own thing
Guys, youtube is fucking Loyd over in terms of monetization. It's not because of the boobs. All of his videos currently aren't making revenue. He's one of the most special youtubers out there. He deserves compensation for his content, and if the nazis at youtube don't want to fund him then we should. His Patreon is in the description, where you can give a dollar per video he makes. If you have a little extra money.
Hats off to that guy. He clearly is a skilled smith and a perfectionist. He won't take second best even if it's his own work. Brilliant craftsmanship and attitude
Well, yes. You can use a string or bandage of some kind, but tape is faster and easier to use. To make things more complicated for no reason is hardly a way a self-respecting medieval blacksmith would operate.
That was mighty decent and professional of the guy to immediately acknowledge his mistake with that breastplate alignment and do another one instead of just trying to make it fit. The whole video was really informative. I loved it. Seems like that armor is on a good way.
How much I love the Yorkshire accent and dialect :) There's just something about it that speaks to me, and to find a smith-armourer with such loverly diction and accent, simply marvelous. And I think I have a new motto in life ""Near enough won't do."
What a beautiful armour. I'm looking forward to the video in which you fit the whole thing in front of your mirror at home and burst into happiness tears ;-)
I can't wait, just as much as you probably can't wait Lloyd, for all the pieces to come together and to have your own, complete suit of armor. You will look magnificent.
Fascinating video! And as a metal worker myself really appreciate the difficulty in forming plate so precisely... Looks like you found a man who really knows his trade.
I just wanted to say thanks so much Because of this video, and the way your Armorer fixed mistakes and was a complete perfectionist I will be looking for him this year for the same thing. This is what you want your armorer to be.
If you don't mind me asking I'm on a mission to figure out how much something like this would cost. If you have any info that could help I would very much appreciate it.
Pix Veneficus But in this PC world such things are frowned upon. They had to be censored or removed in my work. :( But funnily enough the female staff got to keep their naked men calendar and posters
Its great to see a real craftsman at work who takes a real pride in his work, points out a slight twist that's hes not too happy with in the first breastplate makes another.
Heh, I know that feeling of wearing something good. When I was in the army, the uniform alone could really affect your behavior; and if you were wearing the heavier combat kits, you immediately acted more dominant/assertive :P Hell, I felt better wearing that than my business suit xD
I don't know if this has been answered or not but how much will this whole thing cost when it's complete. If I'm going to dream about having my own one day I'm going to need to know.
This armorsmith is truly a master craftsman. The fitup of those two breastplate pieces, is remarkable. If anyone has tried making that kind of fit with even a single curve knows how hard it is to avoid gaps. Very impressive.
What would be the price of a full plate, custom made armour with chainmail and padding? And do humans really need both kidneys? Can you have problems with only one? Just asking. Totally unrelated.
PanzerDrag00n You're looking at a fair amount of money there (thousands), but I've not heard a bad thing about the man's work from people I know who've commissioned from him.
Does everyone feel the need to point out the picture of the bosoms on the wall? it literally makes up like half these comments we came here to see a man get his greaves and breastplate fitted you want to oogle at ta-tas just look it up
This is what need to see. I need you to fulfill two of your major passions. History, and Lindy Hop. Give us a dance lesson while wearing full plate armour, Lloyd.
Really depends on the quality of armour you're getting, it can be from 1K - 10K+ for a full suit. On the low end you're looking at armour that's not custom made with generic sizes like 40-44" chest size as specifications for breastplates. On the upper end you're getting hand forged armour that you can customize (like what Lindy's getting). If I had to guess I'd estimate he's paying around the $5-7k mark based on the quality and time they seem to be putting in (I could be off, I'm not an expert). If you do really want armour I'd highly recommend spending extra to get custom fitted armour, especially if you plan on doing any fighting. Hope this helped!
Damn I love everything about this. The smith is right, people who get to wear such a suit for the first time, there's no way not to get emotional. It's not an easy thing to do.
I've spotted an issue: They are fitting the armour over you whilst you arent wearing the required underclothing (padded gambeson, leggings etc) that would have been worn under armour historically.
Studying tactics, visiting tank museums, learning how to drive tanks, shooting guns and putting on armour.
Tell me Lindy when do we invade France
I call Brittany!
I call Burgundy
Station me in Bordeaux. I wanna be ready for the Spanish.
While we're at it, is Brittany a Duchy level title, or a Kingdom level title?
1. Anyone silly enough to call dibs on Brittany does know many Bretons, (or French history.)
2. The invasion happened 20 years ago, and we seem to be beating a retreat, (the grass is a lot less green.)
3. How does this work with Brexit? Is this a sly why to take a vassal state that can stay in Europe to maintain sanity? #aLeaderWouldStayAndFight #BrexitBad
There's a calender behind Lindy at the first few minutes that uh, is very nice.
It's not the only type of breastplate being explored in this video ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Patrick Roelofs We might finally have a vay around UA-cam's censor bots!
very nice indeed.
nice
Patrick Roelofs I was just about to say it
Lloyd getting his armour fitted...
Two hours later...Skall testing against steel plates
ohshit
Next is LindyBeige vs Skallagrim
Lindy may have some sexy armor but Skall has the infamous cursed armor-killing dagger (and dare i say... pommels?!)
Spend money and time on a complicated and soon to be stunning piece of armor.
most of the comments are about the smith's calendar. ..
The distraction powers of gentleman's relish.
Iron Mark I'm sorry sir but it's the Internet there's only cat videos and pornographic videos by the way as a blacksmith I really appreciate the detail explanation
we like Lindy's work and don't want him to have problems with YT
also that was a pretty amazing chest(plate) :P
your porno postulation rings true look over there shoulders @1:35
what calendar?
When he said, "People pay a lot of money for this stuff. Near enough wont do." That made me smile. @@johan13135 And now we know that most of the problems seem to have been fixed
@@Jcraft153 by who? The armourer?
The best part of that picture is that the camera operator moved to keep it in shot when the armourer's head blocked it out.
Hahahahahaha.
"That goes on youtube, bitch."
He looks and sounds exactly like i imagined a blacksmith who makes armor to look and sound like
"People pay a lot of money for this stuff, and near enough won't do"
I like the guy already.
Guys, youtube is fucking Loyd over in terms of monetization. It's not because of the boobs. All of his videos currently aren't making revenue.

What really got me was the blacksmith with a Brazil Football Team t-shirt
I think I'd break down in tears too if I could ever afford a suit of armour.
Emilio Singh do you know how much this suit that Lloyd is getting costs?
cornerdav £4000
lovablesnowman thank you so much
same here if i have money i would buy a suit as well
Hats off to that guy. He clearly is a skilled smith and a perfectionist. He won't take second best even if it's his own work. Brilliant craftsmanship and attitude
What a glorious trade
Aye
It's so nice watching experts talk about things they're passionate and knowledgeable about
1:04 Ah, yes. Duct tape, the indispensable tool of any self-respecting medieval blacksmith.
If they'd had it, they would've used it, I'm sure.
Well, yes. You can use a string or bandage of some kind, but tape is faster and easier to use. To make things more complicated for no reason is hardly a way a self-respecting medieval blacksmith would operate.
I hear the trebuchet crews used duct tape so much it had to be rationed.
Well, they'd hardly cut *rope*, now would they?
+Kneon Knight
Keep your stick on the ice
that Smith Sounds like an amazing guy . He was just so polite and helpful . what a nice guy.
What a grievous piece of armour...
What armor?
A greave...
The greave is awesome. Greaves are fucking hard.
That was mighty decent and professional of the guy to immediately acknowledge his mistake with that breastplate alignment and do another one instead of just trying to make it fit.
The whole video was really informative. I loved it. Seems like that armor is on a good way.
in safe hands there with one of the best armourers (and all round standup chap's) in the business :)
I could spend hours in their workshop just playing with the things they've got lying around. Great bunch of guys.
This video made me proud to be a Yorkshire man, suit that Lindy up lads! WHITE ROSE WHITE ROSE!
Jack Jack I'm all about the red rose mate!
fight fight fight
Yorrrrks a shithole
The only use for Yerkshir is as a North Sea windbreak for Lancashire.
House York all t' way!
What a delight watching a Master Craftsman at work. Thank you!
Whether it's a suit of armor or a suit of cloth, there really is something that makes you stand taller when well dressed.
My guy definitely gets home after a long day draws the shades lights some candles and puts on his armor for a while
C'mon guys, the blacksmith had to study female anatomy too.
Examining and mastering another kind of breast plate...
*female fantasy armor*
When he talked about his patrons being in tears that was pretty cool.
I bloody love that man. If I ever get some armour, I am going to call that bugger up.
I love listening to this man describe the process of making armor
that is just amazing. can't wait to see it finished
I adore that the smith made a new piece of armour when the first was slightly off. True professionalism and value for money
'Breast plate' was the only pun I had and quite literally every commenter beat me to it...
The professionalism of the smith is awe inspiring
But Lloyd, why would you want a +2 Charisma bonus, it doesn't stack above 20!
that guy is amazing the craftsmanship put in that metal even if its not finished yet is incredible
Did he ever got the plate set completed? Want to see him in full plate set...
This is the most fun-looking clothes-shopping trip ever.
Also 3:20 for LindyBulge.
also put a rubber horse head on your bike's handle bar
How much I love the Yorkshire accent and dialect :) There's just something about it that speaks to me, and to find a smith-armourer with such loverly diction and accent, simply marvelous. And I think I have a new motto in life ""Near enough won't do."

The armourer's accent is delightful. Love it!
Have you noticed there's a clock on the wall
I can't wait, just as much as you probably can't wait Lloyd, for all the pieces to come together and to have your own, complete suit of armor. You will look magnificent.
How very British, indeed, to handle the grEAving process without shedding a tear.
Underrated comment.
Thank you.
Fascinating video! And as a metal worker myself really appreciate the difficulty in forming plate so precisely... Looks like you found a man who really knows his trade.

I also have my first breastplate being made. Sadly will not have a chance to try it on. 16th century, though.
If you don't mind me asking I'm on a mission to figure out how much something like this would cost. If you have any info that could help I would very much appreciate it.
cornerdav A couple thousand
I remember a while back Lindy was talking about one day getting a suit made. I'm glad to see that hope realized.
Every craftsmans workshop is incomplete without a naked women calendar. :D
Pix Veneficus But in this PC world such things are frowned upon. They had to be censored or removed in my work. :( But funnily enough the female staff got to keep their naked men calendar and posters

Ah, Lord Eddards own armorer!
Get him to say "winter is coming!"
Go on... do... :)
Dear me I love craftsmen who take pride in their work and understand the emotions some will have to get a suit of armour. Thank you :)

PanzerDrag00n You're looking at a fair amount of money there (thousands), but I've not heard a bad thing about the man's work from people I know who've commissioned from him.
PanzerDrag00n Depends on the period of armor
But could you build it out of cyberdongs?
The imperial Inquisition how about this very kit that Lloyd commissioned
Let's saaaaay...Condottieri armour :)
Finely we get to see some progress on the armour! Looks absolutely fantastic!
Nice Brazil t-shit.
The mutual respect is showing very clearly and is heartwarming. It has been a pleasure to see this, thank you so much for including this video! =)
Does everyone feel the need to point out the picture of the bosoms on the wall?
it literally makes up like half these comments
we came here to see a man get his greaves and breastplate fitted
you want to oogle at ta-tas just look it up
It's distracting lol
yes i feel the need to point it out. I FEEL IT !!!
+Wulfomir I think a fair number of Lindy's fans are teenagers, which might explain some of it.
What are you? Straight?
Brings a whole new meaning to "knocking the wind out of [a person]"
love the nude calendar in the back
I personally don't consider the female body rude, maybe the pool stick.
It doesn't seem to be a calendar...some one page print-out for some reason.
Heya Mr Blacksmith! Nice shirt from the CBF 😉🇧🇷
And good for you Lindy, it's great to see your armor coming to life!
How tall are you lindybeige? in heinz ketchup packets.
They use metric system in UK ...
Do they, tho?
Zamolxes77 - Some people say 1.83m, normal people say 6 foot :)
That smith knows what he's doin, grat job so far on Lindy's armour!
Wow you don't get many artisans like this nowadays. Can't wait to see the finished product.
am I the only person that saw the mark of nurgle at 13:23
This is what need to see. I need you to fulfill two of your major passions. History, and Lindy Hop. Give us a dance lesson while wearing full plate armour, Lloyd.

This smith is a true professional and is also an owner of a rather nice calender
This man has a delicious accent!
Yorkshire, the bald bloke that is.
I'm awful with accents. So thanks! :)
Epic. I love the work these guys do. I'm so glad we paid for this.
GO FIND THE BREASTPLATE STRETCHER, NOW!
Damn I love everything about this. The smith is right, people who get to wear such a suit for the first time, there's no way not to get emotional. It's not an easy thing to do.
finally
Seconded
I love the "art work" over the desk. Very nice.
Bets on how long before there's a reuploaded version with censoring?
Why? it is not even a problem on youtube and I doubt Lindy´s audience would mind
SirStevetheCreep some random normie
SirStevetheCreep youtube doesn't allow nudity
Lindy is coming in the right direction.
Cool timeframe. Late middleages. Yeah! :D
Lindy better not be forced to reupload this video because a few children can't handle something so minor as pinup art.
Looking forward to seeing this complete.
I've spotted an issue: They are fitting the armour over you whilst you arent wearing the required underclothing (padded gambeson, leggings etc) that would have been worn under armour historically.
Titytit Mk2 pretty sure they know what they're doing
I cannot wait until this is completed.
Does anyone know a good blacksmith in the UK who can make me the crown of The Witch King of Angmar?
I don't know the old fellas name but his speech at the end about his job was awesome
On this occasion I think that we can forgive you for not sitting on the beige seat. Eww...
This is going to be fabulous lindybeige
0:45 a long lost piece of the Bayeux tapestry hanging from the wall
Took me forever to realize that your profile pic isnt an ass and is, instead, a helmet.
St. Wenceslaus' helmet with a silver inlay of Jesus Christ/Odin from the 10th century Gotland
looking forward to seeing the full piece!
What will be your helmet though?
Cihat Duman judging that this is english armor probably an armet
Something that can stop Skallagrim's Mighty Pommel of Armageddon.
An armet, but with a Barred Visor.
You should definitely keep us updated on the suit!
3:08 for some interesting wall art.
Lindy is wearing less and going out more. Love it.
In those long johns you look like every guy in every gay club ever.
Gary Daniel because as a gay guy I go to gay clubs quite a lot 🙃
wrapped for you mate can wait to see the finished product
The armor is going to look amazing when done
I would never fault a guy for dreamin about gettin armoured. Thats all i been trying to teach my whole carrer. Good Onya Smithies
I would absolutely break down in tears to have my dream armor.
