I suffered excruciating pain from this to the point I was crawling on my hands and knees - in a two story house. Couldn't walk. Knots of pain all over the bottoms of both feet. It lasted two weeks. I found out two of my cousins had it too. It hasn't returned for 14 years, thank heaven, because it completely incapacitates you.

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you so much. My podiatrist couldn't give me a solid diagnosis but after watching this video and after the details she gave me, I am fairly sure that it's a plantar fibroma. You really do help people and I also wanted to say that your video setup is impressive. I hope you have a good day.
Excellent, matter of fact guidance and advice. Not alarmist. Not linked to a product. In fact, I was about to order an orthotic insole when I spotted this and thought again. I broke my right foot Aug 2020, had to weight bear in casts as my mother, for whom I care, was laid up in bed for several weeks just days later. I thought the increasing pain in my left foot was plantar fascitis because of the change in my gait on right side. Last night I felt the lump in the arch. Very similar to nodule in my right hand caused by Depuytrens Contracture. This video has helped me keep it in perspective. Thank you.
My fibroma is relatively small and cannot be seen by looking. It can be felt though, and when i pull back my toes the lump becomes less pronounced (i feel it less). Is this strange? My sports doctor didnt really advise me to do surgery or not and left the decision to me, i feel so helpless. Im only 20 years old
Lots of great info all in one video. Learned a lot. Some of this information took me months to find out, but this video has a lot of what you need and more.
Thank you. My nodule is about 1cm in diameter and just before the bull of the foot but at the edge of the arch. I think I created it with a tear from doing star jumps and perhaps the wrong type of shoes. But I have had an ultrasound of the foot and am awaiting the results from my GP. Your video is very very good at helping explain what it may be.
Thank you for this information!! I started wearing really hard arch support, due to overpronation, and it was after this i noticed the fibroma. I wonder if i got it due to trauma from the arch support? It has been two years or so, is it ok to wear arch support? It is still there, and it flares up a little when i massage it😕
My Dr said mine was from repeated bumping on the hard arch of the shoe and it created the nodule. They are just a real bummer. I've done steroid shots but am going to try tenex procedure luckily only 1 fibroid right now.
Very well explained! Unfortunately I am one of the unlucky ones with fibromatosis and have tried cortisone, orthotics, and now trying cryotherapy administered through a syringe under anesthesia. The first procedure helped improve the pain somewhat, but it's looking like a second treatment will be needed for my left foot at least. I just had the right foot treated and hoping for better results as he went deeper with the syringes for the right foot. I am hoping this works because I am not even 40 years old and work a very physical job that requires me to be on my feet constantly. I have one large mass 5cm in length and 2 cm in width on my left fascia, and two marble sized nodules on my right foot. So hopefully the cryotherapy works because surgical removal I really don't feel comfortable doing.
The hands should also be examined for a proper diagnosis. In my case, I had swollen finger joints and later fibromas on the palmar fascia. The specialist I consulted in London described my problem as Dupuytren's Syndrome. He advised against surgery to remove the foot fibromas becayuse they typically returned larger than before after surgical removal.
Hi has anyone been successful in living with this just got diagnosed. They said they won't take it out unless it's absolutely Necessary. Just need some hopeful news mine is small right now I'm an avid walker and hiker.
Kathy, I'm curious if you've found any solutions on this? I have a family member dealing with this who is also an avid walker and hiker and she's had bad pain.
@@wjg6mv Hi so I've gone to about 4 podiatrists and a ortho surgeon and found one that has come up with a plan. Mine is on the arch so I've done steroid shots which have really helped but his plan is to use Tenex to break it down and also because my tendon is so tight to loosen it and help make the nodule less prominent. I live in South Dakota but I could give you the Dr name I'm sure he would be happy to explain and maybe find someone In your area that does this procedure.
@@kathypett-haddock8382 THank you for sharing this with me. I'm glad that you have a plan! I will mention this Tenex to my family member and reach back out if I need the doctor's name. Thank you, again. I hope it all starts to feel better!
hello can someone answer me about my situation. I have plantar fibroma for about 3 months without treating it, but suddenly i noticed that it turned dark and was going flat, plus it was painless. The pain that occuring in it just disappeared and it looks just like how it was before except it's dark, can someone tell me what's going on, is it treated or is it not?
I’m so confused. I have heard that you “should “ support the arch, that by doing so, it doesn’t tear and create nodules. I also heard that those nodules should be massaged to be dissolved. 🧐
i have this on both feet, had surgery on my left foot, they removed a big lump but now the plantar is larger with more lumps and hurts a hell of alot more, now they are fitting me for a orthotic but the damage is already done, have no idea what to do now
I feel like my toes on both feet are constantly at risk of cramping literally every time for years now if I kneel down on both legs and sit back on my feet = my toes cramp. If I turn in bed on my front and my feet can't dangle off the end of the bed but I have to bend the ankles = my toes cramp. walking around barefoot for a while = a toe cramp. basically, they are in a constant state of tension, and no around of ice, anti-inflammatory meds, or rolling my foot on a massage ball has ever helped ad I have this plantar fibroma knot in each foot. Been wearing orthotics for years so might now consider not having them for a month or 2 and see if makes a difference running out of options
I still wounder why you should not use orthotics and arch support. Don't you need to unload/relieve the arch in order for it to heal faster and better blood flow?
My Podiatrist told me that there is no perfect solution for my fibromatosis ,,i have 2 on left foot and one on the left ..My Mom,my Sister and my Brother has fibromas ,,😳
You could try pain management which can include steroid injections in your spine to numb the nerve that goes down to your foot. It works wonderfully for me.
