I miss my Chevelles. My first car that I paid for, not mom's station wagon, was a '67 Malibu, gold with a brown vinyl top, gold interior bucket seats, center glovebox, a/c, heat, tinted windows and a 283. I paid $800, it had 80k miles and I bought it from the original owner in 1984.
About a year later I saw an ad in the Recycler, a guy was selling a '67 Malibu, gold on gold, convertible. No motor, no trans, it had been sitting up in the top of Topanga Canyon in Malibu with no top, for $500.00 . I got my friend who owned a flatbed tow truck to take me to buy the car. I then swapped out everything from my hard top to the convertible. Everything that would fit down to the tar pads under the carpet, motor and a new T350 trans.
I had that Malibu for about 9 years, barely drove it and then my SS El Camino had an engine fire and I needed money so I sold both cars and I'm regretting that every day for the last 30 years.

Great video Campy ! Love this Chevelle. I just commented on one of your previous video........featuring the '65 GTO. I noted that a '65 Lemans was my very first car back in high school. Well...........several years later and after getting married and starting a family, my SECOND dream car was a '67 Chevelle 300 Deluxe ( with the pillar post.......not the coupe ). Had a small block 327 / TH 350- 3 speed / Hooker headers and Flowmasters. My young daughters at the time called in the "vroom vroom car". Hahaha !

Buddy owed a 67 ss. Auto with next level mods to same since he managed a trans shop. Would chirp in every shift and whip your neck like no tomorrow black on black. Wicked fast with many mods to several motors and a zL-1 Great sized car classic understated middle

Muscle Car Campy, I'm certainly not alone recognizing the '67 Chevelle (Malibu) Super Sport as one of the best, and for sure one of the best looking - along with the '66 - muscle cars of all time. If I was currently in the market for a classic these are top of the list. And this one in white with 4 speed and red interior checks all the boxes. GM were on top of their game in this era as there were so many cool factory muscle cars to choose from. Thanks for video sir. 👍👍

I remember seeing ads for Rock Crusher transmissions, for like $600 or something like that, in Hot Rod magazine, in the early 1980s. Small ads toward the back of the magazine, but not classifieds.
I always liked the '66 better, but the '67 has grown on me lately.

‘67’s are probably my favorite yr with ‘66 a close second. L78 motor was the way to go. Can’t get exited about the 325 & 350 horse versions of the venerable 396 Mark 4 “Rat motor”

I liked it black. White and red are my least favorite.
Great car, very rare. I wish I had found one. My story is similar. I was 19 in 1971 and bought a '67 Chevelle SS396 with the 350 HP engine and 3.55 rear. In 1975, running B/Stock, I turned a 13.91 at Dover Dragstrip in NY.
My friend with a '69 Chevelle L78, turned a low 13 just like this guy.

    I had a red 2 door hardtop.
    Black interior.
283 with three on the tree.
4:56 posi. Under dash 8 track player until I aquired a Pioneer supertuner cassette player.
I was 14 or 15 years old and I had it a few years, great times.
The old man sold it out from under me and pocketed the dough.
    💔 It still hurts..

Nice car, it's too bad Frank knows nothing about breaking in a camshaft. If he did he would know a cam is broken in its first 20 minutes of run time with absolutely no idle time. 3000 rpms for twenty minutes. If you did it right the cam is ready to go, if not you will be installing another cam.
