Thanks for your reaction and welcome to the world of Symphonic metal! :-) Actually, you are not entirely wrong about Christian vibes, as the early Nightwish songs even use citations from the Bible or draw some inspiration from it. But nowadays they are actually more science and evolution-based in their songs (is Science Metal a thing? If not, it should be!) and they actually sing about that, with the latest two albums even containing some songs about some of the evils that are done in name of religion. This genre is called symphonic metal, as it uses classical instrument and often classical singing techniques (and the backing tracks on their songs are actually a recording from a real orchestra). Personally I actually think that Nightwish can not be defined by a genre and that they are a genre in itself, as they have so many different sides to them. So, as a recommendation for a next listen to a different, more heavy, side of them: Yours Is An Empty Hope, Live: ua-cam.com/video/DuwY1d-KIss/v-deo.html Or take a listen to Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean, also live: ua-cam.com/video/zlCoXH-CJyU/v-deo.html

Greetings from The Netherlands. You are going to love the 6th band member in the future not on stage now named Troy Donockley en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Donockley 👀😁👍
Have your daughter listen to Floor Jansen (vocalist) do her cover of Lady GaGa's Shallow (ua-cam.com/video/M68pe4a_9zk/v-deo.html) or her new cover of Frozen's Let it Go (ua-cam.com/video/18s6ZdvAfQk/v-deo.html) and see if she still doesn't like the most versatile female vocalist today. No auto-tune, lip sync or software studio magic needed as Floor creates her own magic with each song. I guess the 6' 1" Valkyrie Goddess of Metal a/k/a the Dutch Siren can't impress everybody but she sure impressed the 80,000+ fans that were there that night!!!
Hard to tell what your Daughter’s taste in music is. Perhaps she wants a heavier vibe like Storytime at Wacken 2013. If she’s a fan of Disney’s movie Frozen then she will enjoy Nightwish’s front-woman singing Let It Go. I like it better than the original. Let It Go: m.ua-cam.com/video/18s6ZdvAfQk/v-deo.html
Definitely not a Christian band. They're very secular. Tuomas did use religious references, especially in his older songs, but they also have a few songs that straight up criticize organized religion, as well as songs that are tributes to Sagan and Shoemaker. Nightwish has a broad range of sounds, from light classical sounding full symphonic tracks to full heavy metal.
Try "Nighwish - The Greatest Show on Earth" Tampere version, it's epic. You can find even "Sandman" in it! Check out first what the song is about. You will be amazed the performance!
No idea what you were saying at all, talking through the music, but it seemed you did like it. Sound could be much better...no basstones at all., maybe use headphones recording..
@@nicod1361 It's understandable, if I only listened to songs from the radio or TV and was her age, I would think that the best singer is Ariana Grande, and the best band is BTS or something like that: D
